Asus M4A785-M Motherboard

I have this motherboard. However, I am looking to 'upgrade' my graphics to a much better quality. I am wondering if anyone would be kind enough to tell me weather the 'Nvidia GeForrce GTX 560 Ti' would be compatible with this motherboard. My main worries is that the card will not fit due to the 2 PCI ports under the 1 PCI-E. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.I am sorry if this is a silly question... I'm not all that common with motherboards :)

This MB is DDR2. I'm running windows 7 pro with Phenom II 920, 8 gig ram, and mirrored (sw) 1 Tb drives. So far so good. Haven't figured out HW mirror; documentation not so good on that.

I own this mobo. Defiantly not the best mobo in the world. Not for overclocking. My Phenom X4 9600B bottlenecks like a b*tch on this thing. Wouldn't recommend it.

great motherboard, very affordable. Got a phenom 925 95w cpu on all 4 cores without updating the bios. It works with nvidia too. Anyone know if its 125w compatible?

@MegaDeathwarrant Yes, this board runs 125w processors beautifully. I have an AMD Athlon X2 64 6000+ that requires 125w and it runs just fine. Your 95w CPU will have no problems :) Just be sure you get a decent power supply.

@pirroplato yes it does!! since it has an ati HD4200 integrated graphics and ATI catalyst' control center installs the proper drivers.. so make shure u get the latest version of catalyst to get it working

@pirroplato Pirroplato - Yes, the HDMI HD Audio in the Bios has to be enabled. Then in the windows based OS, you must go into the "Sound devices" in the Control panel and change the default to HDMI Audio in order to use the sound. I have this on my in-laws 50" plasma as a media center and though it took me a while, I figured it out.

@KirbyPwnz13 yea sure. as for the radeon 6870, make sure your psu could support it. and for the amd 1090t, it should work. but personally, i would just get the amd 965.

I'm running everything off the motherboard with the exception of the Zalman 9600 and she's a beauty. I've been a 3d graphics designer for 20 years and do VRML web applications and designing and this graphics card has no issues at all with running high graphics and rendering. I will be moving everything into a gaming cabinet and eventually go with a graphics card add on but the audio is incredible. No complaints at all here and I've been doing this for over 20 years and am a software specialist.

@artixvon44 No. This is an AMD only board. AMD and Intel have not used the same processor sockets in quite some time, so you have to choose between either AMD or Intel. This does handle the 6-core AMD Phenom II processor.

this was probably mentioned already but i dont want to read through all the comments. the point made at 1:40 about hybrid crossfire is untrue. it does not allow you to use either the integrated video or dedicated video depending on your application (i wish), and it does not work with any ATI GPU (i wish). what it does is form a crossfire link using the onboard video and dedicated graphics card, BUT it only works with very low end cards, afaik only the 3450, 3470, and 2400 cards support it.

I do not recommend this MB to anyone who is overclocking a X4 above 3.4Ghz because it automatically downclocks. When trying all possibilities to attain a stable overclock on a 955 Phenom II X4 BE C3 125w at 3.8Ghz 19x200fsb at 1.46250v in bios, cpuz reads 1.408v it will fluctuate a lot in cpuz the MB will downclock the speed to 800Mhz at 4x200fsb for 6-12 seconds quite often.

@StealthBumblebee You can put DDR3 DDR3 or 5 or whatever, video card in any motherboard. No support for DDR3. You can't put ddr3 memory in a ddr2 slot
