to answer the questions about what this is, Weta Workshop was working on a live action Evangelion movie about a year ago until the studio counted how much it would cost, and decided to pull the plug. So this is just some early concept art Weta was doing before the project was canceled

Okay everyone's all freaked about the character designs- just remember this is not the same as anime. That is not necessarily how they are gonna look. They cast actual people for this stuff lol. The concept artist has a style that makes them look like that. But if Peter doesn't fail us, then he'll cast kids to play the pilots. That's like half the story is that the pilots are just babies and how much the whole thing warps them.

*sigh* this is where they cross the line, you need to quit with the live action movies the only good one i've seen is the Death Note live action films. if you plan to make a movie then make it a CGI movie, (especially with NGE) like the world of warcraft previews. if it were done like that, with no major changes with characters, settings, ect,. then it would fly in my books. but other then that this will most likely be the end of NGE. dam hollywood always screwing things up.

Really not a fan of the concept art here, i loved the look of the series it was original for a big robot style story. I think these look really unoriginal as far as alot of western designs for futuristic robots and cities go with really alot of impractical and stylized design for instance why on earth would eva-01 need sharpened teeth on its jaw piece. Maybe i just don't like change but if their going to try to make this live action they should just stick to same look as the anime.

Ok for those who don't know, this is in the works with WETA, ADV, Universal, and GAINAX all involved. It's projected to done between 2010 and 2015, more likely the later given they are currently in 'production hell' with writing and directing set backs. As for you who keep going on how bad this would be...wait till it comes out before judging and don't base it on small BS just for the sake of hating it. Similar things were said about LOTR before it came out and those films are godsends.
