  • Great video! put it in my favs.

  • Thanks. One more question. I want to visit California in January. Do you have hummingbirds at that time or would later be better?

  • @ronsig I think by then the Black Throats have migrated south but the Anna stick around most of the winter. I only have a few hummingbirds that actually hang around my feeder. I've seen quite a few real colorful varieties over on the central coast of California.

  • Thanks for answering. Where do you live that you get these great hummingbirds? I only get one kind here.

  • @ronsig You're welcome. I live in Central California.

  • Amazing. You are an amateur? Looks very professional to me. What camera do you use?

  • @ronsig I use a Casio EX-F1 camera. I use the camera a lot and have gotten much better with it over time. Thank you for the compliment.

  • Very Nice! HB's have always been special to me. In 1979 when first married, they built a nest in the Mulberry tree in the back yard. Got to watch the babies be raised from eggs. Incredibly tiny!

We have lots of them up here on the mountain. They zoom around like guided missiles, arguing and complaining.

I really like this vid. Keep em coming!

  • I'm sure there must be a nest around here, but I have not found it yet. It would be facinating to see the tiny babies and watch them grow and see their first flight. Hummingbirds are funny little creature- they seem to hate each other and each one thinks the feeder is all their own. Thanks for the nice words

  • what i find so amazing is the bird itself, you can see the sweep of the wings back and forth, in a perfect arc, when the body changes attitude, you know the new sweep of the wing.

it's a shame the poor bird won't land to have lunch, but you'll never find an obese hummingbird....

    ummm btw 5*'s!

  • They are facinating to watch. I like how in certain positions the wings are thrusting down with both the up and down beats. The do often land on the perches, but the male (with the darker head and red throat) is pretty cautious because at any moment one of the territorial females will attack him and chase him from the feeder. He drinks, looks around, etc. They typically feed at least every 10 minutes, and at night they go into a sort of hybernation, or they would starve to death.

  • This footage is by far the best you've caught of the hummingbirds in your area. Fantastic compilation. ( :

Looks like your crutch camera mount is working extremely well.

  • Thanks! haha, yes I was using the crutch too!

  • absolutely amazing

    truely awesome

  • Thank you!

  • Incredible. This is definitely going up on my website in the "cool links" section!! thanks for letting me be a part of your art.

  • Thank you very much! It would have been pretty drab without your cool music!

  • Incredible!!
