I have a question. Did your dog go through a teething Phase? Mine is teething and I'm scared he'll grow up being aggressive. I never hit him though.

@toinkytoink100 Oh yes, all puppies go through a nipping phase--that is perfectly normal. Our other dog, Augie, was especially bad with that! Of course, never hit. Tell the pup, "No!" and give him a toy to chew on instead. He'll grow out of it, and he won't be aggressive. You could try buying a book or look up information online about puppy training, or enroll in obedience classes :)

@toinkytoink100 GoldenDoodles will get very aggressive if you hit it to much or if it is a puppy and you pet it or try to take away its food then it will growl high,mean bite you and will come right at you as if it was a battle

@djdaydreamer1 Take him or her to obedience classes as soon as you can (usually can start them at 10 weeks, after they have had two sets of vaccinations). Also, look up "nothing in life is free dog training" for some useful tips.  And then just have patience and give them lots of love and attention :)

@Rlnthndr Aww, I'm sorry to hear about your golden :( As for training, they are quite capable of learning commands as soon as you bring them home. Just takes a little patience and lots of positive reinforcement with food. I would save a small amount of kibble from each meal and used that for training--that way I didn't have to worry about over-feeding. Hope that helps!

I learned most things when I took Augie (our older golden) to obedience classes. I simply started training Ti when we first brought him home--he was a fast learner! I used treats as a positive reinforcement method.

I taught my Pit Bull to shake, now she swats at me constantly x_x Talons hurt. She's 10 months now.

She learned go to sleep, (down) what do you want/tell me, (speak) and go to bed (kennel) when she was about 8 weeks. Learned them all in a day, she was so eager. Now I have 2 other pups(6 month Rott 10 week pit) and I didn't bother to train them, now they're all retarded wild childs. I have to sit them down and learn them all a thing or two soon.

Treats! Food is a great motivator :) If your dog isn't that crazy about treats, try using something she loves as a reward, such as throwing a tennis ball. You might also want to look up "nothing in life is free dog training."
