how long does a stock sti turbo last? he said he had the original transmission at 116,500 miles. I never heard anyone talk about the turbos on an sti or evo tho.

@BROKER13 the engine in my car is fully built, with a td-05 20g turbo....so not stock. Keith Jackson has a stock vf-39 still, pretty sure he has over 60K miles and 1.5 seasons worth of rally events. thx for the questions, keep'm coming!

@BROKER13 Not true...think about it, that would be a warranty nightmare for Subaru if every STI/WRX had a turbo replaced at 15K miles. No, on a stock STI at stock power levels, the turbo will last a long time, +75K miles. My stock WRX td-04 lasted 90K miles and I was pushing it with power mods, etc.

thx for the comments guys! and yes, technically, we drove the last stage RWD only after losing the front axle and the open front diff. There was SOME power going to the right front wheel at certain times, I could feel it pulling bit and steering got real squirrly, at first I thought it was a flat.

@Roflcopterv1 it's a small block chevy race engine, and because of the class it was in, the Camaro had probably 100 horsepower more than any other car in the race. Don't know about the suspension, but it's lifted about 5 or 6 inches from stock on 30" super swampers.

When the front diff is open and a front axle is broken then you can't drive 3 wheels. The upgraded center differential means you mangaed to get power to the rear still, that's all you have.
