Respect to Ehsan Shafiq, he is a brilliant fighter and has some of the best reflexes i have ever seen. Whilst some of his kicks may lose him a point as he touches the floor first (depending on the tournament) he is brilliant and very skilled.
Regards to people bringing in the MMA issue as always eeeeerrrr its simple, MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts and Kung fu is a part of this. In terms of MMA as a sport please dont forget that its still a sport which is enjoyable to watch and train in.

@EbonCrusaderOM82 Cung Le has a blackbelt in Taekwondo as well as Sanshou. Also, Sanshou is a modern Kung Fu & is more like Kickboxing than traditional Kung Fu. I train MMA & dont train wrestling, so to say MMA fighters are wrestlers that brawl is incorrect. I got my blackbelt in Taekwondo, bluebelt BJJ & train & compete in Kickboxing. Wrestling, Muay Thai & BJJ is a deadly mix that trains fighters effectively in the shortest possible time. Kung Fu is cool because it gave us Bruce Lee

@626holden go look at all his fights. In afghanistan and other arab countries you actually learn Karate and other martial arts to defend yourself. Ramon dekker wouldnt last a week down there. ok theyre good street fighters but so is everyone else over there. hence the traditionalism

as for bruce, he also, very smiliarly to mma took multiple forms and took their strong points. the reason thats now considered an art is because he was the only one who did it at that time and did it so effectively. and theres too many mma fighters taking different techniques from different places, making all individual in a way. bruce was highly effective and had several other aspects that made his "mma" into an art.

Bruce Lee studied a lot of martial arts, but he didnt studied enough grappling or take down defense. Bruce Lee didnt fight a Grappler, he had a few boxing and kung-fu matches.

let me end this discussion. mma is not an art, because it doesn't focus in perfection or mastery from a specific origin and it is taught in mind for the objective to win. that being said, it is extremely effective in which it retains the useful techniques of multiple forms, usually making a skilled mma fighter that much more powerful than a skilled martial artist, whose usual goal is perfection, focus, etc. NOT winning.

I think it has to do with the way he or who ever owns this site promotes him. It makes him seem like he is the "best", no matter what. Actually he looks just like hundreds of skilled point fighters I've seen and he likes to hit hard in point tournaments - which doesn't make him good, but leaves me wondering about his character. The videos are all edited to only show him scoring. I think this why he has some haters.

Jeet Kune Do is a mixture of all useful and practical martial arts.You dont get told what use and what you dont use in a fight,you practice then you take and the parts of the martial arts that work for you.Tall, short, fat, thin fighters, different things will work for some but not other,fact!

@Ninjahh666 mma is not a martial art, its a set of rules in a match which allows u to use any style of fighting, the styles of martial arts are divided in wrestling(clinching type) striking(generrally muay thai) and ground(generally jiujitsu) if theres a martial art with all in it, its sambo, no other that i know of)
@skullmanic I agree but at the same time all most all fighters have the same fighting frame (muay thai, boxing, ju jitsu so on) but with emphasison a preferred method ie ground or striking. MMA in most cases is guys fighting in said frame. Thats why i generalize it as a "martial art". Even though all styles are welcome.

If someone was training in muay thai, wrestling and bjj, and some asked that person what they train in do you think they would list all the styles? or would they just say "i train in mma" the basic frame for most mma clubs and fighters are the same and so muay thai, wrestling and bjj is pretty much the mma style. It may not be offical, but its still true.

One of the most dominant fighters in UFC history (Anderson Silva) fought Demian Maia, who people belived had some of the best submissions in the game. Couldn't even touch Silva, it was kinda like in the 00:16 of this video. Shinya Aoki, another great grappler, knocked out for the second time by a knee 1 day before new years eve.

First of all, half the fighters if not more are educated fighters with degree's from University's. A lot of them have been Martial Arts practitioners their entire lives just as Ehasan has but the difference is that they are better well rounded fighters. Ehsan is a striker and therefore lacking in takedowns and grappling which would mean he would get killed.
Tell me this, what would Ehasans defense be to a wrestler or submission grappler that takes him down to the ground? 90% of fights end up on the ground so what would he do in that type of situation. @atg27111 Thats not true... Many traditional styles are very good, but hteir practitioners arent. Thats why we have a lot of shitty karate in the US, but decent Muay thai and bjj. go ask an algerian who does Karate to fight an american who does Muay thai and itll be a different story.

@hazard2000 hey now, no disrespect, but MMA is a completely different thing than kboxing, or karate, etc. guys who study traditional martial arts can beat guys who come from the MMA school of fighting. all they would need to do is have something for the grapplers and train for the boxing aspect of it. look at Machida. karate guy.
I study MA and have friends who are very good (real fights too). it's really the fighter, man. that's the truth. some guys are hard to beat no matter the style.

@hazard2000 not true at all. He just does want the pseudo fame given by UFC and K1. Plus hes older now. UFC is geared towards Muay thai and BJJ. in a street fight, id like to see the best mma versus any street thug from china or japan or arab countries. Its all about the fighters. and the conditions. Americans tend to idolize their styles too much. Look at kung fu in the US in the 1970s when Bruce Lee was around. It was the biggest thing ever. Same with MMA now

as for bruce, he also, very smiliarly to mma took multiple forms and took their strong points. the reason thats now considered an art is because he was the only one who did it at that time and did it so effectively. and theres too many mma fighters taking different techniques from different places, making all individual in a way. bruce was highly effective and had several other aspects that made his "mma" into an art.

Bruce Lee studied a lot of martial arts, but he didnt studied enough grappling or take down defense. U cant cansider him a MMA artists, because MMA means mixed martial arts on mixing striking, grappling and wrestling techiniques. Bruce Lee didnt fight a Grappler, he had a few boxing and kung-fu matches.

let me end this discussion. mma is not an art, because it doesn't focus in perfection or mastery from a specific origin and it is taught in mind for the objective to win. that being said, it is extremely effective in which it retains the useful techniques of multiple forms, usually making a skilled mma fighter that much more powerful than a skilled martial artist, whose usual goal is perfection, focus, etc. NOT winning.

I think it has to do with the way he or who ever owns this site promotes him. It makes him seem like he is the "best", no matter what. Actually he looks just like hundreds of skilled point fighters I've seen and he likes to hit hard in point tournaments - which doesn't make him good, but leaves me wondering about his character. The videos are all edited to only show him scoring. I think this why he has some haters.

Jeet Kune Do is a mixture of all useful and practical martial arts.You dont get told what use and what you dont use in a fight,you practice then you take and the parts of the martial arts that work for you.Tall, short, fat, thin fighters, different things will work for some but not other,fact!

@Ninjahh666 mma is not a martial art, its a set of rules in a match which allows u to use any style of fighting, the styles of martial arts are divided in wrestling(clinching type) striking(generrally muay thai) and ground(generally jiujitsu) if theres a martial art with all in it, its sambo, no other that i know of)

@skullmanic I agree but at the same time all most all fighters have the same fighting frame (muay thai, boxing, ju jitsu so on) but with emphasison a preferred method ie ground or striking. MMA in most cases is guys fighting in said frame. Thats why i generalize it as a "martial art". Even though all styles are welcome.

@PizzaHero92 as ive said, all most a lot mma fighters have the same fighting frame, most train in pretty much the same styles (muay thai, boxing, bjj, wrestling) with some variations and emphasis on ground or standing. And yes it does have its flaws, as all martial arts and combat sports. Pull your head in. I train in mma and kung fu, if someone was to come at me with a knife, my kung fu training is way more likely to get me out of it then my MMA. Grow the fuck up and look at the facts.

If someone was training in muay thai, wrestling and bjj, and some asked that person what they train in do you think they would list all the styles? or would they just say "i train in mma" the basic frame for most mma clubs and fighters are the same and so muay thai, wrestling and bjj is pretty much the mma style. It may not be offical, but its still true.

@BunnyBUNGALO Its not the technique, it's the technician. You can be sick at grappling and still lose to a striker. Look for instance in the UFC. One of the most dominant fighters in UFC history (Anderson Silva) fought Demian Maia, who people belived had some of the best submissions in the game. Couldn't even touch Silva, it was kinda like in the 00:16 of this video. Shinya Aoki, another great grappler, knocked out for the second time by a knee 1 day before new years eve.

HAHAHAH You're a complete idiot. Everything you just said about the sport shows the lack of knowledge you actually have on this issue. First of all, half the fighters if not more are educated fighters with degree's from University's. A lot of them have been Martial Arts practitioners their entire lives just as Ehasan has but the difference is that they are better well rounded fighters. Ehsan is a striker and therefore lacking in takedowns and grappling which would mean he would get killed.

if he decides to kill... a kung fu practioner dont take 30secs killing a non kung fu practitioner...
We do trainings u guys cant last a month doing it... we use iron bags with iron pellets inside to bash our own flesh in training on resisting pain.

i have a metal pole with 1 inch thick rope wrapped around it, and i kick/punch it every day. not much different. i train Muay Thai :D
