hey i know no one will read this but i really hope atleast 1 person does and that would help me out alot if u checked out my channel and i made my first longboard video and telll me if i could improve that would mean alot to me thanks!
@xisdebeste a pro will tell you that its all in the head, but personally out of own experience i have noticed that the more pressure there is on my front foot, the faster i can go without wobbles. so: leaning forward is the trick
im 10 4 foot 5, 65 pounds when im wearing slide gloves and protec helmet and I have a landyachtz switch with caliber 184mm trucks, abec 11 76mm 81a flywheels, bones reds bearings, and 87a venom barrels board side and 85a venom barrels road side. I was hoping I could grow into it in about 1 year. I would love to learn how to slide at my size. could you help me?
i did that drift once when i was drunk i tought i was gonna fall, so i tried it again and for some reason i can only do it when im drunk.....i guess its the confidence
im fat and when i get into both predrift stances it feel's very uncomfortable is it cos im fat or am i doing it wrong. i wont be offended f its cos im fat :P
@rex8642 im 6 foot 1 and weigh 150. safe to say i'm lean. weight has nothing to do with it man. i was the same way, just have to practice and get it down! you just have to commit to the stance and eventually you will be just as fluent to predrifting as pushing on your board. i think its easier to start doing back side drifts first
@BassFucked depends on your setup and skill and other things but yeah its a little longer than standard, still its possible. you mean 45 wheelbase right?
I've been longboarding for a little while now and am planning on getting the Landyachtz Switch... However I am hoping to get trucks and wheels to slide and drift... Can you recommend some quality downhill trucks as well as quality downhill wheels but some that can slide???
@Hoiz28 You're right, I can't. I am truly sorry that this conversation took a turn in this direction, it's just that there are a shit ton of people here who will flip shit at me for not praising loaded's stuff, and have no clue what they're talking about. Personally, I still think that the eel is a much more solid board, but I'm just going to agree to disagree and leave it at that. All that being said, Merry christmas :P
@Hoiz28 Hey man no need to hate, I don't agree with you but I have nothing against you, if you're gonna argue with me please atleast act maturely about it. I don't think there's anything wrong with sector nine, loaded, or dervish. HOWEVER, I DO know that they are popular more through mass marketting than through genuine build quality. Does that mean that they're bad boards? No. But does it lead to assume that you have no clue about the other brands that make better boards? Yeah, definitely.
@Hoiz28 Oh true I'm retarded, you're a genius who buys Sector nine boards instead ahahahahaha. And you're clearly a fanboy if you think the dervish has a stronger build than the eel, the eel isn't a tank, but the dervish is the thinnest ply of wood you can skate. Seriously, there are some good things about the dervish, but none of the things you've argued, you have no clue what you're saying :P
Also what does it matter that you dh? I dh and freeride, but the difference is i do research ;)
@Hoiz28 First of all, boarding and boards are completely subjective, if you prefer a f@cking sheet of plywood to a dervish good for you, so don't hate him for his taste. Also, for some reason you loaded and original fanboys have some serious beef, but I'm pretty sure longboarding is all about CTFD and having a good time. And finally, if you want to compare build quality for boards, you should do some research and get a BC eel or a holesom street sweeper.
@Fortune2point0 try and be open minded, i ride a dervish and apex 37, they both make great videos, if they did a video with both companies it would be killer.
hey guys............um i can do the heelside predrift and can bring my leg back in. once i bring back though, it shoots back out again and i do a 180. any help guys? loadednewsletter? anyone?
@spartadj If youre grabbing the toeside rail, dont grab in between your legs. Hang your back foots heel off the board, and grab with your back hand just in front it, but ONLY use your back hand to help you pull the board back. Dont put too much weight on your front hand and square your shoulders, and when you want to bring the board back, push out lightly with your front foot and at the exact same time pull back a little bit with your back hand and suck your back foot in.
What the hell the guy who says "I broke my neck" was that joke or did he actually brake it because I laughed my ass of and then realized oh my god I think he's actually serious.
@TeamPandaBear Ok don't put ALL of your weight on your board, what helps me is start with most of your weight your glove, but have your hand (If you are doing a heelside) a little farther forward than you'd normally have it, so it doesn't pivot around it and do a 180. Really tuck you back leg in, just like you'd do a coleman, but SPOT a target on the opposite side of the road. LOOK at the target, and then when you feel your wheels break and start sliding, THEN start putting weight on your board.
Lean further back if you are getting bucked off of your board. The main thing you need to practice is sucking it back in, just throw your shoulders in a reverse direction to suck it back in. The idea of having your weight over the board is that you don't overslide into the curb, or have the board slip away from you. Also, disregard the thing about starting small. Go big, or go home. It gets exponentially easier when you're going faster. It'll lessen regrip on wheels.
When you are going faster it will be safer AND easier, because your wheels won't pitch you off as easily, and you can suck the slide back in much easier.
Also, what is your setup? If you have like 78A Wheels on a topmount, then it's understandable, but if you have like 81A wheels on a dropthrough, you may overslide and need to be over your board a bit more.
id agree with yall, laoded aint downhill boards, i rock a vangaurd with randels, bone swiss, and orangatangs, cant go any faster than id say 30 or 40 without some speed wobble scare. just upgraded to a rayne seeddemon, nice for downhill, oh and i wouldnt say loadeds are over priced, ive had mine for 2 years and it was worth every penny.
@spartadj Rotate your SHOULDERS and HIPS back to be parallel to the road. Always, always, always, always keep your front hand further forward than if you were doing a 180 or a pendy, because then you wont over rotate as easily, and keep your predrift at a nice 85* angle. (90* can give you some dirty nasty flat spots)
you guy.... a sector nine bombs hill beter than a dervish.... thats saying something, i use a rayne hellcat to rip at high speeds just dont film them becasue i dont do it for others just myself thats what longboarding is all about right?
I'm having some trouble getting my wheels to break when trying toe-side pre drifts and was wondering if you have any tips? I have plenty of speed and my form is fine but they're just not breaking.

How does this work?
The only thing that gets me about this is "putting your weight on your board."
Most slides I do, most of the weight is on the hands/gloves.
I feel scared that my wheels will start to break, stop at 90 degrees, and get bucked off the board.
This happened to me a few times when trying to do standies and haven't done them since.
help?
