obviously u don't watch anymore. Most cars now are asian again on the show. Of course they throw in an occ. jeep, ford focus and dodge and chevy. Their main contract last year was with Hyundai-so they had tons of those on. If u use inflation based on the show, it has gone up ten or 11 times since then. Boy do I miss the 70's..Life was so much easier and uncomplicated.

@pastorsc01 Yeah but that Honda was likely only about 1800... And those were the days when they still had foreign cars on the show... a few years later it was 100% American cars. That trip to Hawaii was only about $400.

I read somewhere that he didn't start saying it until the early 80s. Of course, I could be wrong about the date, but I do know he didn't say it when the show first started.

He became an animal rights advocate in the early 80's. It was around the same time that he became a vegetarian. Because of that, he later banned any product from his show that involved sacrificing animals (anything made with fur & leather for example). That has been lifted since Drew Carey took over The Price Is Right.
