  • Wow, $2,487 for a trip to Hawaii and a car. Today a trip to Hawaii and a car is over $28,000.

  • @simwrangler remember this is back in the 70's.. so prices were aa LOT lower back then ( due to inflation)

  • @jjl666420666 Yeah, I know. I was 3 years old when this aired.

  • @simwrangler I was 2.

  • obviously u don't watch anymore. Most cars now are asian again on the show. Of course they throw in an occ. jeep, ford focus and dodge and chevy. Their main contract last year was with Hyundai-so they had tons of those on. If u use inflation based on the show, it has gone up ten or 11 times since then. Boy do I miss the 70's..Life was so much easier and uncomplicated.

  • WOW..diggin those bell bottom pants on the showcase winner.

  • Originally aired: November 17, 1972

  • apparently in 1972 cats and dogs weren't slutty like they are today....

  • What's up with the end there? There sounds like there was some audio trouble (right after the announcer stops talking)...

  • it's incredible how LITTLE this show has changed in 40 years

  • Inflation, gotta love it!

  • HONDA 600 - s w e e t

  • chick in the blue is hot.

  • $2500 for a trip AND a car!!!! Those were the days!

  • @pastorsc01 Yeah, but that was back when minimum wage was like $0.85 an hour or something.

  • @pastorsc01 Yeah but that Honda was likely only about 1800... And those were the days when they still had foreign cars on the show... a few years later it was 100% American cars. That trip to Hawaii was only about $400.

  • I suspect Bob had a blonde sandwich that night.

  • @stargate121 LOL

  • Source tape is from 2000, following the Pillsbury Bake Off, in case anyone wondered.

  • girl in purple has nice tits

  • goodness look at those pants!

  • yeah bellbottom pants were the rage back then but OMG those are huge even by bell bottom standards

  • You read my mind there.

  • Back in the day lindsey, we called those elephant bell bottoms

  • the babe in blue was stoned.

  • did anyone notice that he did NOT say "help control the pet population. have your pets spay or neutered"?

  • I read somewhere that he didn't start saying it until the early 80s. Of course, I could be wrong about the date, but I do know he didn't say it when the show first started.

  • He became an animal rights advocate in the early 80's. It was around the same time that he became a vegetarian. Because of that, he later banned any product from his show that involved sacrificing animals (anything made with fur & leather for example). That has been lifted since Drew Carey took over The Price Is Right.

  • This was unusual. It seems to me that almost every time, the price revealed second is either the winner or an overbid. It must have been a just random reveal early on in TnPIR.

  • that car was a honda civic...looked more like a mini cooper..lol.. that'll be a monster with a K20A motor

  • what kind of car was that?...looked more like a golf cart...

  • It was a Honda. it's discussed in part 1 of this vid

  • even for 2008 thats a tiny car!

  • try a peel p50
