FYI - a recession is a term used to show a decrease in GDP. Usually for a period of significant time (at least 2 quarters - ie 6 months). The US is still having positive GDP growth at the moment (which means we are still in a period of economic expansion not recession)... so although their is a slow down in the economy, it is not even close to being classified as a recession.

I think the media has scared away your senses, do you even know what recession is? Its a period of negative growth in GDP. The US economy has slowed - almost stalled, but GDP is still positive and the economy is still in a slow rate of expansion. 1998 was the last time GDP was negative (it was negative for 9 months-the economy was actually shrinking). As far as the dollar I own a corporation in Asia, I feel the effects of the dollar, but look at the value of the dollar in the 90's it was worse.

FYI - a recession is a term used to show a decrease in GDP. Usually for a period of significant time (at least 2 quarters - ie 6 months). The US is still having positive GDP growth at the moment (which means we are still in a period of economic expansion not recession)... so although their is a slow down in the economy, it is not even close to being classified as a recession.

I think the media has scared away your senses, do you even know what recession is? Its a period of negative growth in GDP. The US economy has slowed - almost stalled, but GDP is still positive and the economy is still in a slow rate of expansion. 1998 was the last time GDP was negative (it was negative for 9 months-the economy was actually shrinking). As far as the dollar I own a corporation in Asia, I feel the effects of the dollar, but look at the value of the dollar in the 90's it was worse.

The fact is we are not in a recession yet, and while things are bad ... they can get a lot worse. Touting a recession causes investors to pull money out of the US.
