  • Ayn Rand realized the incarnation of Jefferson's Declaration is about the discovery of the Laws of Living-systems similar to Newton's discovery of the Laws of Motion. These laws are part of the "Laws of Nature" which transcends any human defined rights or laws. As in any field, when the Laws of Nature are not followed, the system fails.

  • Human history is loaded with monarchies and failed systems of organization and government...selfishness, barbarism etc. People forget how revolutionary the Declaration of Independence was.

    That being said though, both the Declaration AND Ayn are wrong on the choice of "endowed" language. Neither nature nor a creator give a man rights. In order for men to have the best society where they can be happy and healthy, they MUST recognize certain inalienable rights in each other.
