Pouring water over the lava quickly extinguishes it. I find this the most efficient method. Make sure you always have a bucket of water on hand.

GUYS!!!!! if you want to walk over lave, have a bucket of water and make a 1 block hole in the wall and pour water tin there(like a natural spring), it should spread over the lava an turn it into obsidian. you may be able to mine depending on the depth of the lave but if its deep pour some water on top of a block and the water will get into the lava beneath before the block can fall. thumbs up so paul can see

For anyone wanting to know, Paul uses fraps to record, also another tip for mining near lava is to pour your water over it and turn the lava into an obsidian floor. This will make it alot easier and safer :D hope this helps someone.

Hey folks, just a little advice if you want to mine something and there's lava beneath it, throw some gravel, it will get to the very bottom of the pit and absorb lava, it can make things way easier. Thumbs up so that Paul knows this
