@wavybuttsack - Excellent question. Generally, if a card shows up in a top-level deck, it is worthy. However, especially when sets are new, it is sometimes hard to tell if a card will be as powerful as it looks at first glance. Many times you will hear people say that a card is "a potential tournament card" or "a sleeper bomb" or something along those lines. Sometimes those cards turn out to be junk, other times they are as good as expected (Jace TMS), and sometimes junk turns out good.
@armityle27 - Yeah, I know. This was filmed when the set was brand new, and nobody cared about Vampire Nocturnus yet. As well as my system works, if I had a chance to go back and do boxes over again, in some cases I would be chasing very different goal rares. :) That's the way it is in the card market, though!
@MaxeEvidences - As I cannot divine future events with my mortal mind, I cannot answer yea or nay. If you have any skills along these lines, I'd appreciate knowing the outcome of tonight's Super Bowl before I place my wager. :)
@MaxeEvidences - Yes, I am happy to say: Absolutely positively YES. The book teaches the entire method for mapping so that you can apply it to future sets. Worldwake is likely to be Type B and may not map, but Rise of Eldrazi and M11 are both 249-card sets that may map properly. We won't know until they are released.
@thefallenangel1 Yes and no. The subsequent print runs of M10 came from multiple printing plants. Some of them collate Type A2 just like the map says, while others collate Type B that doesn't map 1:1. Unfortunately, Type B is a greater probability of any box you buy. If you want to roll the dice, you might get lucky, but you're better off right now just buying singles.
Can someone answer this question for me please. lets say you have a couple of drudge skeletons out on the field would the regenerate effect still work if you sacrificed it to regenerate Skeletal Kathari which you need to pay one Black and sacrifice a creature to regenerate skeletal Katharo, also for the effects liek devour and stuff.
Before you buy ANY of them, download the free INDEX. It will tell you which sets have been mapped out, which book or module has the map, and which sets are not mapped out.
Well, I'm not a dealer anymore so I keep most of the cards for my collection. All the extra rare playsets from buying all those cases, I usually trade those off for high-end Vintage stuff. You can never have too many of the Power Nine! :)
The update for M10 is $9.99. If you think you can go off the map alone and figure it out from there, you're certainly welcome to do that. The book, which came out last December, includes maps for the sets at the time (Shards, 10th, etc) and actually teaches how the whole system works.
what makes certain cards "tournament worthy"?

What i was talking about, as a concrete future customer of your book, is:
if i buy your book, your mapping method will be teached inside so I can map sets/releases myself if you don't ?

Can you do this with fatpacks...? :o

@Elidragonguy - Nope. Only sealed booster boxes.

Do you think they changed the map print run? If I buy a box now would it be the same collation?

@lacrosseboy105 It will NOT work with Worldwake, in all likelihood. And nope, I am not rich. I am a writer. Writers never get rich. :)

So, how accurate are the maps for the prior sets, like Ravnica? Does Wizards randomly change things up?
Just wondering about getting any of the prior digital modules...
