  • fuckin love this song :O wish they put it in the movie :/

    x

  • So much talent in this movie. And can you believe the guy playing the Telecaster is none other than Glen Hansard. He sure hit it big a few years ago with Once.

  • This never was in the movie was it?

The fella who played Jimmy was originally meant to play Deco, but Andrew Strong was the voice coaches son, and he was cast.

  • @thedizzies1 but he ended up getting the better role as jimmy. and you have to admit, andrew strong's voice IS better.

  • @darkfishy87 oh man, no doubt about it, the roles were cast perfectly

    just a cool fact I think :D

  • this is not on the dvd wtf ??

  • It is on the DVD?? I have watched this movie maybe 6 times but still do not recall it. I'll rent it again. S

  • @seau2007 the vid aint on the video just the songs used for the credits:)

  • @emerc63 Roger that!! I'm gettin' old and thught the emory was slipping more.

  • Was this song in the movie?? I do not recall seeing this. Great stuff!!!!

  • @seau2007 It's on the DVD. Originally Robert Arkins was going to play Deco until Andrew Strong was discovered by the filmmakers. Its a great number, but because Arkins ended up playing the groups manager, they couldn't use it for the movie.

  • whats the name of the singer?

  • @xTeamJBiieber Andrew Strong. "The voice is strong" - this is his album's title.

  • @xTeamJBiieber Actually its Robert Arkins, who ended up playing the groups manager Jimmy Rabbitte. Andrew Strong (who you see singing backup) ended up getting the role of Deco for the movie.

  • reaches for her dvd collection...I know it's in here somewhere...here it is...I may be gone a while....wooohoooo!

  • oh yes

  • @Supaphonic Brilliant

  • 5 people didn't treat her right

  • Not bad for music from the 90s

  • well done, mr rabbit......well done

  • Jimmy Rabbit is some singer!

  • With as many times as I've seen this movie, how did I EVER miss this? Brilliant!!! Was this cut from the movie???

  • @Cynful27

It actually was. It wouldn't fit with the story. too bad though, best song of the whole movie!

  • @titusverster

Thanks! I've got the soundtrack (had it for eons) and always wondered who was singing this song. :)

  • greeeeeeeaaaaaaattt movie.

  • Timeless classic - anyone that doesnt like this clip has no taste

  • I FUKN LOVE IT MATEY

  • I wanna tell you a story every man oughta know If you want a little lovin' you gotta start real slow She gonna love you tonight, if you just treat her right Oh squeeze her real gentle, you gotta make her feel good Tell her that you love her like you know you should She gonna love you tonight if you just treat her right If you practice my method just as hard as you can You gonna get a reputation as a lovin' man Yeah, you'll be glad every night that you're treatin' her right Hey hey hey hey
  • Fantastic movie. My all time fav. This scene is classic. Shame it was cut. Fuckin eejit. I'm black and I'm proud

  • fuckin deadly :)

  • Andrew gets all the attention but man this dude can sing

  • I hadn't seen this before and wonder why this was cut from the movie. It's awesome!

  • I gotta find this long version!

  • I have watched this DVD so many times I think I wore it out..One of the best movies to come out. Great acting, great singing and awesome music!! I even have both volumes of the soundtrack.

  • so much talent too little exposure

  • cool song i can hear this every time

  • if you go to 2:29 the woman looks at the camera.

an awesome song i allways wondered who sang the high pitched bit forgot it was him

  • Great movie.

  • I thought you were selling drugs

  • @Foeley my fav scene hahahahaha

  • how can music this good not be popular today???

  • Fantastic. Love it.

  • Youre not taking that horse in the lift are you? i have to, sure the stairs would kill him. Cool movie, epic soundtrack and Rob Strongs voice is outstanding.

  • bleedin' brilliant brother Rabbit...

  • this performance doesn't appear in the film, does it?

  • Why do something as good as this and not put it in the film?

  • Cause it wouldn't fit the storyline, the singer here plays the manager and the band has a problem lead singer so if it was in the film that the manager can sing the solution for the aspiring band would be to kick the singer out and have the manager as the singer, sometimes you just have to have an overview and forget great moments

  • It was the opening song in the movie when the credits were running

  • 1:26

  • Joey the lips was sent by god and travels on a scooter, somtimes he will carry a spare helmit for ^^^^^^ reasons.

Long live good films and music.

  • @swindonbadger on a fucking Suzuki? hahaha

  • fab :)))))))))))))))))

  • bloody marvelous

  • Sick song!

  • it wasn't in the film. as robert arkins played the manager, the songs he sang on the soundtrack didn't appear (inc. bring her on home to me). apparently he was going to play deco until andrew strong turned up. he was cajoled into singing this with the promise of a number one. however, none of the singles were a big hit, while the albums were huge. niamh kavanagh is the female singer you hear in the film and on the soundtrack but who isn't a visual member of the band (eg destination anywhere)

  • "The Irish are the blacks for Europe. And Dubliners are the blacks of Ireland. And the Northside Dubliners are the blacks of Dublin. So say it once and say it loud: I'm black and I'm proud." Still a killer movie!

  • @jlmww

haha, I lol'd when he said that :)

and afterwards, when the sax player tells those kids "I'm blakc and I'm proud"

  • I will take the blond woman on the left

  • its in kung fu panda as far as i know. great song

  • Sorry- I'm old - what movie is this from?

  • The Commitments.....

  • THE COMMITMENTS, although this performance isn't in the actual film.

  • hey this isnt on the film is it?

  • WOW i love this song soo different and amazing!!!

  • Keen songs as I love them! 5 on 5 for this song and immediately amongst in my preferred ones !

  • Wow.... That shit is soooooo bad! Who says the Irish don't have soul?!?

  • That Outspan Foster character won't amount to much, will he?

  • haha nahh he'll never win an oscar or be anythin lol

  • Pure fire...and original as mother earth.

  • damn i love this movie and the soundtrack is wicked...this song is one of my favorites off the soundtrack

  • @1985isis

damn i love this movie/film...the music is amazing

  • Hey can you get an mp3 of this version of the track because the one off the sidestep album kinda sucks

  • all good best movie ever irish soulll and all the blarney 2

  • Damn, this tune is good. Didn't know the commitments sang it OR that Jimmy sang! It's A+++.

  • Loved this tune on the soundtrack but hadn't seen this video until now, nice one!

  • Horns do it for me. Guitar riff is easy. Horns and keys own it and add the groove, r&b element it was meant to have.

  • listen to roy buchanan's version, and hear what he does with the lead. absolutely kicks butt. this version is awesome. the movie is one of favorites of all time !!!!!!!

  • a remake ? Oh nooo please, never !

  • Keep this movie original, never remake it

  • Are you stupid? The greatness of this film is just that it is so original and down to earth. A remake would send it to it's grave.

    No thank you.

  • WTF?? Never heard this one before.. it´s fucking awsome:)

  • Hey Toshi, what's that all about?

  • jimmy is cool

never mind he sux stupid ass!!
