Hey! You might want to go with your family on another outdoor activity - it's the Zero Gravity? Have you heard of it? It's in Phoenix, Arizona - and it's a must try! It's fun and exciting yet safe for your family to enjoy. Try searching atreveteinc and experience the ride of your life...
anybodu stupid enough to venture into an area where humans are not top preditor unarmed .they deserve tp be attacked. protect yourself at all times.these arnt trained pets.they eat meat and to them you are lunch!at least a hipower pistol.a mom and her backpac just doesn't seem to cut it i'd saythe great outdoors is great but you are in thier land.for your kids sake if not your own.a cougar said those unarmed tree hugging liberals taste pretty good !lol
No, they aren't. They are just a predator doing what God made them to do, and a beautiful animal. Having said that, God made us with enough smarts to know not to be alone in the woods making it easy for them either! I spent my entire youth roaming the woods and never even saw a lion. Because of preservation run amok now days, we have generations of big cats with no fear of man. We do them a big disservice by not making sure they still fear us!
1. Some hikers use ski poles, for the same reason hikers use walking sticks: to stabilize themselves and avoid joint damage and nasty falls. That said, they do look really, really stupid.
2. I did. I was bored, and throwing mountain lions at people is a great way to kill time.
lmao My thoughts exactly...that cougar reminded me of Terry Tate, Office Linebacker. It owned that hiker...er, whatever it is that dude with the ski poles was doing.
funny show, haha - this is from HBO - all these people think this was real! hahahahahaha. you're more likely to get killed in a plane crash than attacked by a mountain lion, even if you run around in the california wilderness naked by yourself every night for the rest of your life!
In the U.S. & Canada from 1890 to 1990, Univ. of Calif. wildlife scientist Paul Brier found 10 human deaths and 48 injuries documented due to mountain lion attack.
FOR EACH YEAR during the same time period, two dozen human deaths and 200,000 injuries due to domestic dog attack were documented. That is 2400 human deaths and 20 million injuries due to domestic dog attack during the century of record.
The victims of all except one of the lion-caused deaths were unattended children.
bapyou, What about that lady in So Cal that was attacked while riding her mt bike & the guy who was there earlier and got killed by same lion.Did you count that one? My cousin was hunting in eastern Oregon couple years ago and luckly shot one in mid air as it was leaping on him! He saw the cat and did not want to shoot it but had to!
i cant decide if that would be a horrible or awesome way to die lol. i mean, how many people can say (figuratively) that they were killed by a moutain lion? kinda unique, i think.
You people who think this is real are retarded. Its from "Six Feet Under" and HBO series. It would take a mountain lion much longer to kill a man of that size in real life. The chances of it attacking a adult human at all are pretty slim.
is this real footage? did he really die? that's y hikers shouldn't be there when it comes time for sunset because that's when mt. lions are active. we bring things like this on ourselves. if we trespass on their territory, this is what we are risking. they have a natural fear of humans but if they c that we're easy to hunt that's gonna change. hikers need 2 learn how to pay attention to their surroundings and how to deal wit a mt. lion encounter. they're stealthy but, we gota b prepared.
The last Mt. Lion in Pennsylvania was supposed to have been killed in 1871. The PA Department of Fish & Game claims that there are no Mt. Lions in PA.
Although Fish and Wildlife officially claim that there aren't mountain lions in PA, big cats are on the move. Two male jaguars were recently filmed in Arizona and from the looks of the film they weren't just there visiting. Big cat reports are coming in from areas where they haven't been since the turn of the last century. I was recently called to identify a lynx an hour away from Detroit, MI on the Canadian side, either that cat traveled a long way or it escaped froma private collection.
I think, even though our fish and wildlife claim they are extirpated, that they still do in small numbers roam PA. A little while back I was collected firewood with my father and I caught the back end of one sneaking back into some pine trees. I know it was a cougar because nothing else around here has that tail.
What's the scientific term for this, when a Mountain Lion attacks and kills a human? Like there's suicide and then there's assassination, what's it called when you're killed by an animal?
They're just nature's way of keeping the trail runner population from exploding. Just the slower runners get it...Its a shame they can't swim and clear out the kooky surfers.
anyone who watches this show regularly will know that the writers have a very dark sense of humor and this kinda stuff is in fact supposed to be (and is) funny.
I must say I'm a big fan of Six Feet Under. In addition, this was a very accurate portrayal of the REMOTE possibility of being killed by a catamount. The scene is emblematic of their preferred killing method (i.e. a back to the bite of the neck).Poor fellow's subclavian artery was severed and, odds are, never knew what hit him! This NRA Benefactor member was impressed!!
Lol! I don't know if this little bit of irony was intended to be funny, but I just HAD to laugh! This is my favorite "how they died" opening of Six Feet Under. Thanks for posting!
