Having said that, God made us with enough smarts to know not to be alone in the woods making it easy for them either! I spent my entire youth roaming the woods and never even saw a lion. Because of preservation run amok now days, we have generations of big cats with no fear of man. We do them a big disservice by not making sure they still fear us!

Although Fish and Wildlife officially claim that there aren't mountain lions in PA, big cats are on the move. Two male jaguars were recently filmed in Arizona and from the looks of the film they weren't just there visiting. Big cat reports are coming in from areas where they haven't been since the turn of the last century. I was recently called to identify a lynx an hour away from Detroit, MI on the Canadian side, either that cat traveled a long way or it escaped froma private collection.

A little while back I was collected firewood with my father and I caught the back end of one sneaking back into some pine trees. In addition,this was a very accurate portrayal of the REMOTE possibility of being killed by a catamount.The scene is emblematic of their preferred killing method (i.e. a back to the bite of the neck).Poor fellow's subclavian artery was severed and,odds are,never knew what hit him!
