The problem is not how much people eat, it's WHAT they eat. That, coupled with no or limited excercise. Machines require synthetic fuel to function properly, as humans require natural foods because our bodies are natural. Processed crap is killing people.
@Enochsfury many machines run on natural fuels =P... And how much / what people eat is really the same thing if you look at food as energy. Also I find natural to be a lazy term. Is milk that has been pasteurized and homogenized natural? By definition, no. I'll take the processed milk please :) But yes the high in fat and sugar processed foods are the worst.
The problem is not the eating, the eating is only a symptom of the real problem. People today are told to "do what ever they feel like". Self control is out and debauchery is in. Individuals must learn to develop self control and every other benefit in life will flow from that.
I really respect Jamie. I love that he went up against the school system in England and won. If only the bone heads in charge here will also be wise enough to listen to him.
@AmnaJavedSyed You are actually wrong. 99% of the time, "affect" is a verb and "effect" is a noun. "Affect" normally refers to the influence or impact of something, in this case, obesity.
@livinglyrical effect is the result or reaction if you will and affect is the action or influence that will later produce the effect. so the title is correct. Effect is for when affect is evident.
and.... aren't you gonna tell us what happened? They don't exactly show reruns of this show...

This looks amazing. I hope it airs in the UK. The UK version was no way as moving/shocking as what I have seen from clips like this one.
Jamie Oliver's shows (like this one) are part of the reason why I've chosen to do Nutrition at university :)

@livinglyrical hmm...must be the difference in the american and british usage. i guess the americans use the two words interchangeably. =)

@livinglyrical sorry you also spelled the word spelled wrong, too.
lexusdevotee 1 year ago
@livinglyrical To affect is the verb, effect is a noun. If obesity affects someone, it means it influences someone.
