My Dad was a navigator in the RAF during WW2 he flew people from the entertainment corp and supplies all over the world and said that this programme was very close to how things were in real life. A cracking programme indeed.
@GrahamMercer Jimmy Perry said that he didn't know if this was the best show they did, but it was certainly the funniest. I think he got it the wrong way round - Dad's Army gave me a lot of laughs, but this show was very accurate from what I have read and studied about the Empire in India. The conversation between the two Indians at the start of the episode seems particularly well-observed.
watched this when a we lad. did mash steal some ideas from this? note similarities in the gay boy and the little guy with glasses. not a hospital though.
i wasnt born wen this was on tv. but i loved watching the repeats years later wen i was little. =) windsor davies makes me proud to be welsh . shut uuup!
