  • Ausgezeichnet.

  • How did Brahms manage to stay single writing music like this?

  • I love this song! I love this song! In fact, it made me fall in love with the girl in the picture. Please, someone, tell me who made it . I was thinking Tischbein, or Waldmueller... Tell me, please...

  • @anabaptist - Christian Gottlieb Schick, "Heinrike Dannecker", 1802. Oil on canvas, 119 x 100 cm. Nationalgalerie, Berlin.

  • Lovely mixed vowels. Unvoiced consonants could be a bit more unvoiced, though. Beautifully sung!

  • Well, what a treat to find this online, beautifully sung with taste, feeling and charm, to say nothing of the vocal ease and freedom displayed by this marvellous singer. A beautiful pause before the sound just like in a live recital followed by a smooth calm performance. Thank you for posting this.

  • How beautiful! I pick this over any tenor or sop any day, every time.

  • Was afraid there was no sound, but fortunately it started after a few seconds... :) Thanks!

  • You're very welcome!

The 'silent start' is something I inherited from my father. When he worked as a broadcaster in the 'good old days' of Portuguese Radio, that's how he used to put music 'on air'. He believed the little 'suspense' helped to create the 'mood': I think he was right...

  • He was absolutely right. AND, it is so important not to storm in AFTER a performance is over with the announcement. I get crazy when an announcer barely lets the final note sound before he/she barges in with his words of wisdom!

  • @ipmoic I agree with you! The silence after a piece can be overwhelming, especially in a concert - for the performers, too ;-) !!!
