the quadratic equation really isnt that complicated simply use ax2+bx+c=0 and match it to the formula. then use the quadratic formula which is -b+or-the sqaure root of b sqaured -4ac all over 2a. so -1+-sqaure root of 1sqaured - 4(1)(-12) divided by 2(1)
Thanks for helping me relearn what I knew in high school. . . I just wish you spent more time explaining more ways to solve it. And thanks elephant, for that song reference. I will remeber it again . . Not that I need to use the knowledge in my everyday life. . .
kokopell, whar r u talking about? u mentioned the two options which was already listed in the video. you just added "completing the square" which is what, exactly? then u say the list goes on... what list? u mentioned one other choice that didnt even make sense
Hey man, thank you so much, I fully understand it now, everything explained is also available in the Netherlands ;-), also thanks for making the vid, its really more clear then if you would send it by mail. Thank you most,
I just learned factoring in math class today!!!! I totally understood!

THAT question came from the NETHERLANDS?? How old was that student...6??

@templar19
I'm dutch and i learnd this at 1st class of highschool
so the one asking must be 12 or younger
or very stupid and have a boring teacher

Thumbs up if you can prove the quadratic equation :)

the fastest way to resolve this equation is:" 3x^2-2x^2+x-12 =0 or x^+x-12 =0 a=1 b=1 c=-12 delta=b^-4ac x1

and then just solve

you should look up completing the square, it can be a very useful way to solve these problems

@ScrewAttackChina Doing the completing the square method there gets a little messy, but gets the right answer in shorter time.
x^2+x=12
(x+0.5)^2= 12 + 0.25 = 12.25
-(x+0.5)= 3.5 (leading to x=-4)
or x+0.5= 3.5 (leading to x=3)

dude, you have waaaaaaaaaay more that two choices. factor, quadratic equation, completing the square, the list goes on.
kokopelli121123 2 years ago
u listed 3 options, 2 of which he already mentioned.. that leaves completing the square which makes no sense, so what r u talking about?

Quadratic formula.. You can sing it to the tune of "pop goes the weasel"
x is equal to ne-ga-tive b plus or minus the squaaarree root of b squared mi-nus four a c.. all ooover two a.. Great huhhh???..
