  • No, day geckos have very sensitive skin and are not supposed to be handled very often.

  • do they make good handling pets?

  • erm...a giant gay dicko?

  • I has a flavor!!! OM NOM NOM!

  • In the wild, the proteins from the excess skin is too valuable to a wee gecko to lose. Hence why it eats its skin. Also, they have a habit of running on empty, so the energy it uses up when it's shedding can be replaced by the nutients in its skin. Well, some of it anyway. :)

  • @MrThomasFaithfull It's an exotic pet, and they're not allowed in Australia. It sucks, but it's for quarantine reasons. But we still have plenty of sweet reptiles.

  • You should help him shed, to much stress please dont make him die lol.

  • om nom nom nom.....

  • ware can you buy them

  • Man, I don't know what the rules are with lizards and other reptiles but if my pet was shedding and taking that long to pull its skin off I would "have" to try and help it roll the skin off.. must be ichy and frustrating as all hell lol.

But I'm sure there is a good reason not to lol.

  • @TokerMate Giant day geckos are generally very delicate and shouldn't be bothered much, especially during a shed.

  • @TokerMate they get stress from it

    not healthy

  • awsom gecko!

  • PLEASE HELP i have 4 full grown red eyed tree frogs and a giant day gecko,i have a very nice exo terra 36 x 18 x 24 terrarium (i think thats it, its the largest one) but i was wondering if i could house them together plz reply!!

  • @oreowithmilk1 I would not recommend it. While giant day geckos are mostly insectivores they can still be territorial and aggressive toward smaller animals kept in the same cage, especially if both species are going to be occupying the same area of the cage (i.e. both tree frogs and day geckos are arboreal). I've kept large green anoles with day geckos succesfully but I've never tried frogs so I dont know for sure how they would react.

  • @ci6n1 could i keep a crested gecko with a gaint day gecko?

    aany 1 please repond

  • @TheGuitarist4181 no. never mix species of geckos. its one or the other

  • @ryan12381793 thank you

i got another crested gecko and yesterday when i was cleaning my tank i found 2eggs and i put them in a container side by side half way in the substrate and kept them in the cage cause they co be incubated at room temp

  • @TheGuitarist4181 sweet! good luck with them. I honestly don't know much about gecko breeding or egg incubation. Just make sure you research, research, and research some more! Its really rewarding having your animals breed for you :)

  • @ryan12381793 thank you!

  • @oreowithmilk1

It's better not to combine these gekko's with other species. They are sensitive for stress. Ofcourse you see some weird things here on youtube (like holding them). Just keep a male with a female and that's it. That's what I would suggest.

  • @Tankzld oooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  • @oreowithmilk1 never more than one species per enclosure.

  • @cottoncandymonster Not always depends on what species for example some bearded lizards and some frilled dragons have shown to be able to live together fairly well but sometimes they don't.

  • @oreowithmilk1 If you have to think twice, never do it. It's not worth the risk.

  • @oreowithmilk1 and the frog secreats stuff from its skin that wont be good to any lizard

  • @oreowithmilk1 and the frog secrets stuff from its skin that wont be good to any lizard

  • 0:06 licks it's ass like a cat :o
