Later, as I have watched every game Harvin has played in the NFL, he reminds me of Adrian Peterson (my favorite player) in many ways too. @thug8707 the real thing is that knox is an all around better receiver percy's average he needs multiple receptions a game to be a factor where as knox can take 1 and make the opposing team pay for just look at the bears jets game when he blown the top of the coverage with the game wining touchdown and thats another thing if the game is on the line id rather go deep over the coverage to score a touch down than a dump off or a slant.

@6400az it doesnt need to be original, anyone whos played football at any elevated level should know Speed is quintessencial... think about basic prinipals taught in ftball :Quickness Wins - Bigger FASTER then stronger, GO FULL SPEED, you cant teach speed etc...... Try hitting without going Fast see what happends. Try running someone from behind that runs a 4.3 40... Id much rather go up against a big guy that cant run than a mid size guy that can blaze.

There you go man.That's original and well justified. I agree to some extent but speed isn't everything. For one you gotta have the guts to stick your head/shoulder in there. I'm aware of having to catch a blazer from behind .BUT, the hitting has liitle to do with the actual foot speed. It's the "UMPH" you get at that last milli second before unloading. Was Dick Butckus fast, is Ray Lewis fast. Yet they're both K.O hitters. What player one would prefer to against, depends on the play.

The principlals of quicknes you mention are correct.BUT speed and quickness, are two different things here.
You have the true speed deamons, as in Randy Moss, then you have quickness as in Wes Welker.Not that he's slow, but his thing is quickness. What I'm saying is that if you run a 4 flat 40 and you don't have other football related atributes, the speed alone does'nt guarantee you grid iron glory. Speed is quantifiable, so a fast time going to generate more of the WOW factor.

@6400az I knew you would say that. Speed & quickness for the most part equates to fast. Most Quick people arent slow-just some are speedy and quick. I think the problem is you are assessing football players as if they dont have football skills. Im assessing it as these cats are about to be pro's so im assuming they have football skill already so the ones with blazing speed have the greatest advantage. I dont thing Usain Bolt would be a great football player but more so than say Mr. Universe

That's what I mean right there!! One can be cat quick, but NOT fast a foot.. There are attributes a football player can have that will even the field if you don't post the 4.0 in the forty yrd dash.Quickness, would be one those attributes.
If your assesing two football players, and ALL you know is one is fast and the other is not ( Bolt vs Mr. Universe) well then ofcourse, you go with th fast guy.
BUT, what if you had to pick between Bolt and an Olympic wrestler ??

@diamorious Yes, I definitely saw similarities in Harvin and Reggie Bush when Harvin played in college. For instance, they can both play WR, RB and returner, and are around the same size. Later, as I have watched every game Harvin has played in the NFL, he reminds me of Adrian Peterson (my favorite player) in many ways too. They have similar running style, they run hard and both run around and through defenders. Harvin has better hands of course, versatile, and the fastest first couple of steps.
