  • This picture is badass. I love it.

  • sounds decent... really.. but it doesn't beat the original

  • I find this inferior to the 8-bit esque version, but this is really starting to grow on me. Has a certain charm that's different from the red alert-esque feeling I get from the 8-bit version but is still really nice.

  • is it just me or does splashwoman look a lot like Leviathan from MMZ?

  • @halofira7 Does Tornado Man look like Harpuia? Nope, not just you. Probably no coincidence either.

  • BADASS

  • Sounds like something you hear in a 3D sonic game like the adventure series

  • Sounds like something you'd hear if Capcom made a 3D Mega Man game. This should be the final battle theme!

  • That picture, is it by any chance drawn by Hitoshi Ariga?

  • @Doctorimpact Yes, it is :3. It is the Arrange OST cover, and it also includes a short manga drawn by Hitoshi Ariga *-*~

  • One of my favorite non-Robot-Master-theme tracks on the album. Lovin' the guitar siren!

  • this game is amazing. Hard, but amazing

  • People are complaining that it doesn't capture the feel of the 8-bit version. I say, try to forget about the 8-bit version and listen to this as though it were original. If you hate it for what it is, fine. If you hate it because it isn't what you expected then that's not fine.

  • ok, but not great...

  • I have almost heard all

    MegaMan 9 Wily's machine remixes

And I think this one is best

    O' yes,?

    I remembered MegaMan 6 final boss's music,

    It was awesome

    Along with this one...

  • Badass intro, absolutely epic, then 0:41...

    Really disappointing.

  • loved the song and the picture

  • I was kinda disappointed with this. Good job how there was work put into this, but I just wasn't feeling the acoustic guitar parts. It sounded nothing like how I wanted an arranged version of this song to sound.

  • @manofonetitle With this AST, they didn't do anything based on what the fans wanted, this is actually the musical Genre that the 8-Bit versions are inspired from, everyone was shocked that Tornado Man's theme WASN'T inspired by rock.

  • I actually like this, but it's not better than the original.

  • I don't like this arrangement, since it's the things that made the original so good.

  • crap cakes awsome remix

    O-O

  • If they make a megaman anniversery colletion that includes this, or a megaman powered up verison of this, I hope the wily machine sounds like this

  • I hope this isn't spam, but I think I know how the original Mega Man series will end in what is likely to be the REAL Mega Man 10. It involves the death of Bass, Proto Man and Dr. Wily and the shut down of Mega Man and his companions.

I have several paraphrases and references to the original series to back up my claim as well.

I don't have enough room to explain it here in the comments, so if any individuals are interested, just reply and I will send you a message personally with my thoughts.

  • Keiji Inafune said that Zero is not the murderer of Rock and his friends, if that is what you were thinking.

Power Fighters explained the death of Protoman, because he had a flaw in his energy system that he was too proud to let Dr. Light correct - and this showed in Rockman and Forte, as Protoman already began to show signs of his body weakening.

Inafune hinted that Wily died of old age, but was brought back with the Zero Virus that infected Sigma during Sigma and Zero's fight.

  • I already knew all of that. What I thought was:

Mega Man defeats Bass for the final time as Wily lets Zero kill Bass as a test run.

Mega Man kills Zero in the final fight of MM10.

Proto Man dies by his malfunction and Mega Man kills Wily out of spite, thus breaking the first law of robotics.

For this he and all of his friends are shut down permanently and either scrapped or displayed in a museum.

Dr. Light builds X in secret and Zero is found still in tact and rebuilt by... I forgot who.

  • Your assumptions seem perfectly logical and correct. I could clearly see Bass challenging Zero out of arrogance.

Wily is hinted to have died of old age by Inafune's comment 'a large amount of time passed and Wily died,' though he never specified how.

  • For Mega Man to lose his temper and kill Dr. Wily, as understandable as that would be for as many as Dr. Wily has murdered in cold blood with his robotic creations, is still, very much in violation of that law.

For Dr. Light to become paranoid and to shut down them all out of fear is a possibility. I always found it strange that he did not completely trust X, and felt he had to run a series of diagnostics on him in order to assure that he'd never harm a human - even if that human has murdered

  • Zero, according to Inafune, says that Zero never murdered Rock or any of his family. He said that Zero was 'not that kind of person.'

In reality, he is not - the virus was used to brainwash him. In Zero's nightmare, Zero's personality was that of innocence. He didn't even know who Dr. Wily was, and suddenly Zero felt a huge pain in his head - the virus took over and made him compelled to obey his orders.

  • Dr. Wily may have imprisoned Zero in a capsule, much like how Dr. Light placed X inside a capsule to run diagnostics. The capsule Zero was in, may simply have been created to reassure the virus flows more completely through his systems so that he will still carry out the will of Dr. Wily.

  • Well I don't know much about the X series considering I've never played any of the games, I guess you have to have a broad knowledge of both to make a substantial conclusion as to how the original series.

Are you saying I may be right or wrong. You have me confused. Feel free to help me fill in the holes but, if this conversation is to continue, just PM me and I'll message back. I think were spamming the comments. ; )

  • Weren't X and Zero imprisoned in capsules in the same room?

  • HEY HERE'S AN IDEA? STOP ARGUING IN COMMENTS

goddamn it's like I'm on the IGN forums all over again

  • I was watching the Mega Man show, although it might highly not be true, apparently X is the future classic Mega Man. Either that or Mega Man and X are both different characters and they are not related. Like some of the Legend Of Zelda games. Ocarina of time Link and A link the past Link are not the same characters.

  • In the Game Boy games of Mega Man I-V, Dr. Wily creates 'Rockman Killers', a special series of robots designed to destroy Mega Man. In these games, he is usually trying to kill Mega Man and fails. In Mega Man II, he travels into the future and kidnaps Mega Man, reprogramming him as Quint. He also tries to use a number of extraterrestrial robots to combat Mega Man in Mega Man V.

  • just something to go with what i said earlier:

Dr. Wily has captured Megaman when he came from the future, and has remodeled him.

    "It is your destiny!"

    Good point: Fortune-telling

    Bad point: Time-zone fatigue

    Like: Excavation

Dislike: Himself (because he's Mega Man)

    Japanese CD data:

    Dislike: Time Paradox

  • Who else thinks Hornet Man looks like a badass in this picture? I don't know why, but he looks really cool here for some reason...

  • The REAL tile for this vid is:

Mega Man 9 Epic Win OST: Wily Machine

Heh :) That new title is a joke, but fits VERY well, cause this song is Epic Win :) Anyone who agrees gets a cookie :3

  • You sound so excitable.

  • :3 Kinda, in a few ways, but it's true, this song is in fact epic win in my opinion:)

  • Well that's true at least :D

  • I think it's pretty funny how he thinks a Xbox 360 game came before an NES and Megadrive game.

I think that sums up his way of thinking. *Sagenod*

On topic, I happen to love this song. The siren always gets me pumped up for an epic Wily Capsule fight.

  • When you get to the end and here this theme you know it's the end.

  • I agree with BronzeSoldat, Megaman and Sonic are made by Japanese game companies and ninja's originate from Japan so that's one rip off right there. Also both have hero's that can move (just like cars in Forza and NG2) kill minions and have last bosses which are usually machines, just like how cars are machinery. Thus Megaman and Sonic are complete rip off's of NG2 for the 360, oh yeah forgot to mention NG2's production began in 1985.

  • Dead horse is dead. Leave the poor thing alone. ;_;

  • The bad thing is, someone is still trying to debate this with me.

  • To: marplatense2, Bronze Soldat.

I'm ending this petty argument right now.

Ninja Gaiden 2: Legend of the Dragon Sword was released by Tecmo in 1990, which means it was released after Mega Man (1987), but before Sonic (1991).

Most action games of the third and fourth console generations were very basic. The NES had two buttons; the Genesis had three. That's why they're so similar; you can't do much with so little! No one is "ripping off" anyone, so shut up!

    Good music, though.

  • actually the argument ended a long while ago, and actually, something tells me that he was talking about the X-Box 360 version.

  • However Trolls Still Be Trolls

  • the aftermath?

splash woman ditched auto and married megaman

megaman waited 9 years for this moment.

  • why does megaman have that collar in his neck

  • This would also fit in a Sonic game for sure!

  • chill dude.

I was just making a suggestion.

don't have to mean about it...

  • I have never heard people compare Sonic to Megaman, ever.

Oh, and I agree with Mechas. Especially the beginning part.

  • And I'm a die hard Sonic fan, but I don't get pissy when peope insult or compare other characters to him.

Infact, i've taken god knows how many jabs at the blue blur.

  • ok how about this megaman in my opinion is and always will be better than sonic but i still like sonic in my own way because theyre both part of my childhood

  • so you don't like Sonic because he's a blue hero like Mega Man? wow that's a dumb reason, everything else about Sonic is WAY different than Mega Man, for example I don't remember Sonic stealing the bosses' powers like Mega Man does, besides Sonic's not a robot, so you can't really call Sonic a poser just because he's a blue hero like Mega Man.

  • no you fool i hate sonic because he's a poser

  • um, that's what I just said, but he's not a poser just because he's blue.

  • I kinda compare them cuz:

    Sonic and MegaMan - Blue

ProtoMan and Knuckles were their first rivals but then became friends. Both red.

Bass and Shadow are the newer "badass" rivals of the two. Theyre both black.

Thats really the only way I compare them tho. In gameplay and story, they are very very different.

  • And two evil, super intelligent, super rich Drs as the main villian. Also, they both fight robots. I can see the comparison, even if the gameplay and story are completely different from one another.

  • wow, do you even understand what you're saying?

  • yes i do im stating my opinion if you dont like my opinion dont read my comments.....simple as that

  • well i sorta can't read them anyways lol most of them are like un-seeable (i mean literally)

  • well whatever but just remember that

  • Either way, both Sonic and Megaman rip-off Ninja Gaiden 2.

  • uuum.... Sonic and Mega Man riped-off Ninja Gaiden 2???? I'm not really a Ninja Gaiden fan but I think that you play as a ninja slashing stuff with his sword in that game, in Mega Man you play as a robot shooting at other robots and stealing the bosses' powers, in Sonic you play as a hedgehog going at a very fast speed jumping at everything, dahing and stuff, how could all that be a rip-off of Ninja Gaiden 2?

  • See, there both exactly like Ninja Gaiden 2!

  • is this some kind of joke or something? in Ninja Gaiden you're a ninja, in Mega Man you're a robot, and in Sonic you're a hedgehog, I hardly see a similarit, so you must be joking.

  • You obviously have never played Ninja Gaiden 2 before, because if you did, then you would know how Megaman and Sonic rip-off Ninja Gaiden 2 completely.

  • no, I didn't, but I saw a review on it and I saw no similarity between them whatsoever, in fact Sonic and Mega Man didn't even come to my mind when I saw that gameplay in the review.

  • ok, look first off tell me which Ninja Gaiden 2 you're talking about, the one on the NES or the one on the X-Box 360 than tell me what was so ripped-off.

  • I think it's pretty self-explanatory on which Ninja Gaiden 2 I'm talking about.

  • not really, it's actually kind of confusing.

  • ok seriously which Ninja Gaiden 2 are you talking about?

  • I still don't know which Ninja Gaiden 2 you're talking about, but I can assure you that Sonic and Mega Man didn't rip-off anything, Mega Man was around way before either of the Ninja Gaiden 2 were invented, in fact he's first game was released in 1987, as for Sonic he's been around since 1991, that's a year after the original Ninja Gaiden 2, but if you talking about the Ninja Gaiden 2 of the X-Box 360 than I can assure he didn't rip-off anything.

  • allright I will, as soon as you tell me which Ninja Gaiden 2 you're talking about, there's the one in NES or the one in X-Box 360.

  • the good one huh? well that says a lot, does that game exist in a particular console? what the crap is Forza Motorsport?

  • I assume you're talking about the 360 version am I right? if you are than..... you're an idiot the first Mega Man game came in 1987 and he could steal the bosses powers just like in many other Mega Man games, and the first Sonic game came in 1991 and he could run very fast in that first game too, now unless you're that bad at math than you'll know that 1987 and 1991 came WAY before the 360 version of Ninja Gaiden 2, let alone the 360 itself.

  • No seriously dude, I see what hes saying. I just went and looked at the Forza Motorsport 2 gameplay trailer, and Sonic and Megaman are TOTALLY ripoff's of Ninja Gaiden 2.

    This guy's legit.

  • if you're talking about the 360 version of NG2 I only got one thing to say..... DON'T BE STUPID! Mega Man 1 came in 1987! and Sonic 1 came in 1991, the 360 version of NG2 did not even exist yet, how cuold they rip-off a game that didn't exist yet?!!!! geez.

  • Its like in Back to the Future. Time travel. They saw Ninja Gaiden 2, went back into the past, and built their games modelled off of Ryu Hayabusa.

    Robotnik = Shadowfiend

  • umm, Dr. Robotnik is a scientist not... whatever Shadowfiend is, seriously this is either a sick joke, or you Ninja Gaiden fans are just plain stupid.

  • Dude, just watch this video:

    /watch?v=waxP7gysQ_U

    It'll explain everything.

  • Comment removed

  • umm... that's a racing game, Sonic and Mega Man are not racing games besides it's ovbiously a 3D game which means it's one of the newer games, Mega Man came in 1987, Sonic 1991 if you can't understand that than you're compleatly retarded.

  • Alright, I'll admit that the last video was a little over the top, but atleast look at this one. I promise it'll explain everything.

    /watch?v=uS-IhxhW4T8

  • So it was the 360 version! well too bad you still lose, like I said Mega Man and Sonic came WAY before the 360 version of NG2, there were even consoles that came WAY before the 360 like maybe, the NES, and the Sega Genesis I don't think Mega Man and Sonic were able to rip-off the 360 NG2, because it didn't exist yet, besides Mega Man and Sonic are not ninjas maybe next time you'll do some research before acusing a character of being a rip-off.

  • You obviously never heard of Ninja Gaiden 2, since Bioshock wasn't even that good of a game to get a 10/10 from every game reviewer ever, I mean, it was too easy, had 2 terrible endings, was slightly boring, and half-way through the game it kinda sucked.

  • You obviously don't understand that Mega Man and Sonic came BEFORE, I repeat BEFORE the 360 version of Ninja Gaiden 2, do you know what BEFORE means? saying that Mega Man and Sonic ripped-off the 360 version of NG2 is like saying that the three stooges ripped-off seinfeld, we're even by the way, because you obviously never played any Sonic or Mega Man games, you're even to stupid to understand that they came BEFORE NG2, check the dictionary to check what BEFORE means, if you don't already know!

  • How about you look up in a THESAURUS how Sonic and Megaman rip-off Ninja Gaiden 2.

Another thing, I was playing Donkey Country 2 again on my SNES and I was wondering, is there a DK coin in every level?

  • how about if you get out of that rock you're living under, and do some research for once, the more you're replying the more you're telling me how stupid you are, look Ninja Gaiden 2 came out in 2008, Mega Man 1 in 1987, and Sonic 1 in 1991, if you can't understand that than stop replying, Mega Man and Sonic didn't rip-off anything, and if you believe the first retard who said that than you're just a retard yourself, Sonic and Mega Man came first, end of story.

  • Now that's just retarded, look the NES only had 2 buttons, and most games on the NES used A to jump, like Super Mario Bros. or the Adventure of Link, as for Sonic, you make him jump with A, B and C, all 3 buttons make him jump, seriously that reason you gave was just retarded, that's like if I said that Sly Cooper ripped-off Crash Bandicoot just because in both games you use X to jump, actually most games on the Playstation consoles uses X to jump.

  • DO SOME RESEARCH!!!! Sonic wasn't a NES game, it was a Genesis game, the fact that you use A to jump in this 3 games, even thought in Sonic you could use all 3 buttons to jump says nothing, look a rip-off is a game or movie that took a lot stuff from a game or movie that came BEFORE it and hardly changed it, ok it's not exactly that but it's close enough, and I think Sonic and Mega Man came before NG2.

  • Maybe if you realized, MEGA MAN AND SONIC CAME BEFORE NINJA GAIDEN 2, you would understand something, which means that this game didn't exist back then, neither did the 360, you just don't get it because you're not a retro gamer, if you were than maybe you would understand, by the way if you say that they're complete rip-offs than that means tha their ninjas too, but their not, and there are a bunch of other differences, you're an idiot, end of story, stop replying!

  • that's what I've been saying all along, if Sonic and Mega Man are "complete rip-offs" like you said, than their first game would've come after the 360 NG2, and they would both be ninjas and slash stuff with their swords, but they're not, they came before NG2 and Mega Man is a robot who's main attack is shooting at robots and his enemy is Dr. Wily, Sonic is a hedgehog that spin dashes, collects rings to stay alive jumps on enemies to kill them, does that sound like a "complete rip-off" to you?

  • wow, you didn't understand a thing I said did you? you're a fanboy too by the way, of your precious NG2 if you're too stupid too understand this than, I win, end of story, if you're just not a fan of Sonic and Mega Man just say it, don't make up stupid sories like that.

  • Congrats to BronzeSoldat. I now want to go castrate myself with a spoon.

    Your trolling abilities are unmatched.

  • Damnit, you're a fucking genius! Your trolling abilities are almost taken for complete ignorance. TEACH ME.

  • dude shut your face. in video game speak

    A MEANS JUMP

    B MEANS ATTACK

    AND YOU NEED A CALENDER

  • Well, maybe you need to look up some facts, cause Megaman and Sonic have been ripping off Ninja Gaiden 2 for decades.

  • LAWL ok you go think that. *snickers* i'm sorry allmighty video game historian. *bows down*

  • -_- riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight

  • Yes I know I'm right, but did you know that in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, at some parts Sonic ran down walls? Totally ripping off Ninja Gaiden 2.

  • And both games ripped off the old Spiderman comics. Replace "Crawl" with "run" and BAM! you have sonic and Ninja Gaiden 2.

  • Holy shit... My eyes have never been more open then they are now.

  • LOL

  • Dude, if anything Ninja Gaiden ripped off Sonic if you're going to say that... >_>

  • Please read the enitre debate in the comments.

  • I read the rest afterwards, you evil, little, sly troll ;]

  • lol is the only game you play Ninja Gaiden 2?

  • Oh my bad, I also forgot to see that you wrote Forzo Motor 2 or something. My bad lulz.

  • wtf are you talking about?!

  • WTF

  • you guys do realize you are arguing on something that doesnt concern this video whatsoever?

  • its just a music...a remix from a song from megaman 9, if it sounds like something from ninja gaiden then its just a coincidence. nobody cares.

  • cant you just drop the subject? this is not the place or time to argue about that. If you have a complain, go complain about it on capcom's website.

  • wow it does sound a little like like ninja gaiden but only in the begening. awsome remix

  • It's not the remixer's fault that his remix of this particular theme sounds kind of like a theme from Ninja Gaiden 2. He was thinking of a cool way to remix this theme, not a way to incorporate Ninja Gaiden into Mega Man. Therefore, it IS a coincidence.

And before you ask "And how would you know?" I should tell you that I'm a remixer myself, so I know what goes through people's heads when they remix something. And it's not a different game than they're trying to remix.

  • I wasn't talking about the remix, I was talking about Megaman games in general.

  • Alright well that's not their fault either; several billions of songs are made, therefore there are going to be sections of songs and even entire songs that sound somewhat alike or almost the same. And with so many video game soundtracks being written alongside each other, it's not uncommon to have the Mega Man composer accidentally write a melody that the Ninja Gaiden composer also wrote. It happens to a crazy amount of musicians, and it's not a conscious decision or anything.

  • Again, I'm not talking about any of the music.

  • Oh I seeeee.

    Unfitting troll is unfitting :)

  • what point are you trying to make here, BronzeSoldat?

  • @BronzeSoldat: OK. Pop Quiz time. On what system did Ninja Gaiden 2 come out for?

  • @gamefreak2500 Pop quiz? What?

Well, it's come out on many systems, like the arcades, the NES, (I'm not sure about this one but) the SNES, and the Xbox 360.

  • The Ninja Gaiden II you might have though of that was ripped of from Mega Man and Sonic was Ninja Gaiden II: The Dark Sword of Chaos for the NES. HOWEVER, it was released in 1990, 3 years AFTER the 1st Mega Man game (1987). I think that was the Ninja Gaiden 2 you were talking about.

  • @gamefreak2500 So you just proved that Megaman ripped off Ninja Gaiden 2 for 3 years before it was even released?

  • Actually, it's quite the opposite. Nyah heh heh heh heh heh.

  • What, are saying that I'm wrong?

  • That doesn't make sense at all. Megas a robot with a buster. Ryu hyabusais a ninja with a sword and magic techniques.

    Nothing alike

  • YEAH I KNOW

  • @BronzeSoldat ok i know this is an old comment and you might not remember even writing it. i was reading through the comments while listening to the music and it seams as though you think megaman somehow copied ninja gaiden, right? so tell me this, in what way does megaman copy ninja gaiden?

  • @alucard8881 Its not just the music that copies Ninja Gaiden 2, but everything else.

  • @BronzeSoldat Because it's 8-bit?

  • @AnnoyingBird100 Oh wow this is still going?

Alright lets see... This totally rips off Ninja Gaiden 2 because of its a song from a video game. Ninja Gaiden 2 is a video game, and it has music. Thus, Megaman definitely rips off Ninja Gaiden 2 because it has music.

  • @BronzeSoldat I'll pay credit when credit is due, successful troll is successful.

  • @AnnoyingBird100 Finally, now I can move on.

  • @alucard8881 Don't you remember the part where Ryu Hayabusa fought 8 robots and got their powers?

  • @AnnoyingBird100 hmmmmmm, i suppose i don't. haha

  • lol i like this but it fits moar in the megaman X series not the orginal megaman

  • The game WAS made the people who made Megaman Zero.

  • lol this would sound like a good X series boss theme

  • Yeah, fits perfectly!!

  • well, if CAPCOM ever makes Mega Man X9 (and I hope they do) they might recycle this song and put it in X9 as either the mavericks boss theme, or as the final boss theme (AKA Sigma) I think the reason this song sounds like a Mega Man X song is because the Mega Man X1 is probably Mega Man 10 I mean it sure looks like it, but that's just my opinion.

  • The reason it's called Megaman X is because of the character, Megaman X. Not because X = 10 in Roman numerals.

  • yes I know that, but it could be the tenth one/

  • It's not, the Megaman series and the X series aren't meant to link into each other, that's why it goes (in titles):

    Megaman

    Megaman II

    Megaman III

    Megaman IV

    Megaman V

    Megaman VI

    Megaman VII

    Megaman VIII

Megaman 9 and not Megaman IX

  • You don't know that, I mean it makes sense, X was created by Light just like the original, it takes place many years later after the original series, Zero was created by Wily who was the main bad guy of the original, the first Sigma level of X5 looks similar to Quick Man's level, the Shadow Devil eppears in X5 who is an incarnation of the Yellow Devil (even has the same music) when you fight him and the boss in the 3rd Sigma level there's a "W" in the background, it just seems so abvious.

  • The two series are related, they follow the same universe as eachother, but Megaman 9 is not the lead up to Megaman X.

  • again, you don't know that, they could make Mega Man 10 true, but maybe 9 does le
