If you want actual widscreen all you do is highlight your video track, open the "even pan-crop", and up top where it says "Presets:" you just use the dropdown box and select the option that says Widescreen...Thats all!

The black box idea isn't really necessary. All you have to do is click on "event pan/crop" from the clip on the timeline and then use the preset settings there or resize it yourself. If you make a custom setting be sure to unselect the "lock aspect ratio" button on the left of that screen.

How did you letterbox this video? You could see the Start Menu. but still has the blank space.
