ive done a 16 bit one. but i haven't bother doing the decimal to binary coveter for the inputs. also the display ain't done, it would be huge to fit the 2, 5 digit inputs and the 6 digit answer.

Well this is very impressive work, but if you're still in school there's probably not much you could do at University until you're old enough to go. It is unfortunate, but it is the way these things work.

However, it is a good idea. If you think it's novel enough it might be worth suggesting to a research department as a potential final year student project. Researchers are always open to good ideas that can be passed on to students.

When you actually sit for a good 5 - 10 minutes and think about this, its not that hard to make, it jut requires a lot of time and planning. Ive attempted something like this before, but confined myself to too small of a space and left out some stuff do to my little to no planning. @beingatliberty =] Thank you. I'm not sure, but I would think that the internal 1kb of RAM on the zx would lag a bit too much to be of any use on my computer at least. If you wanted it anywhere near as fast as in real life, there would need to be pretty much no delay at any point, which, even if you used instant-repeaters, probably wouldn't be possible/practical when talking about most current RAM systems (since they use redstone torches). =]

@Lab3lFive =] Yes, there is a selector which makes 6 and 9 into 69 (as an example). Then that 99 is decoded into binary before the adder.

If you're a complete beginner to binary, check out Stobesyy, who makes redstone tuts. If you don't fancy any of that, you can try and join a redstone server, or I may be able to help myself if I can get a regular server going. =]
