Edwards' healthcare plan sounds like the Singaporean and Dutch healthcare plans. Check the 2 systems out on wikipedia. Peace! By the way I'm a Canuck with universal gov't healthcare in the most conservative province in Canada. Alberta. Just think of Colorado with free healthcare minus handguns!

Kucinich says the Edwards want healthcare to remain in the hands of the insurance companies. Kucinich wants to make healthcare not for profit. I did support Edwards until I found out that insurance companies will still be for profit and will still be able to deny certain things to patients. That isn't truly universal.

Except maybe some nurse practitioners and CRNAs (who by the way) the dems (social healthcare), insurance companies, and lawyers would love to hire because since they have less education than the medical doctors they can of course pay them less and put more money in their own (malpractice lawyer) pockets. Awesome! I'm sold.

Yeah, this guy has done great things to increase access of health care to all people.
...such as filing false claims against doctors in rural communities to the point that the doctors can no longer afford malpractice insurance in rural West Virginia and North Carolina anymore. The doctors pack up and leave for another state and the people are left with no one to care for them.

Maybe you should just give me back the money I have paid out of my check every week. Would you pay say State Farm for the same coverage that you get from medicare, social security? Im sure I could get a better deal. The medical industry is taking your money and not giving you anything in return!

Do you really think that is why health care is so expensive? We are the only industrialized nation without some form of health care. Countries like canada,england,france, germany, all have great health care systems. The fact that we have a for profit health care system is disgusting, and if you support it then you r the one who has been brain washed.

His health care plan and these medical cost saving strategies by themselves are enough for me to support John Edwards for president. Now is the time for serious health care reform, and he is the only one who is bold enough and practical enough to get it done.

oh john edwards. you give me hope. i actually just talked to my health insurance on the phone yesterday and was so frustrated with what they can get away with! the idea of creating competition for them is so good. they need to be brought back down to earth where the sick people are.
