Just as I like Ellie Goulding's cover of Heartbeats The Knife (also covered by Jose Gonzalez) - the two covers are acoustic, and the tone of the song is changed dramatically from the Knife's version, and that difference doesn't make it good or bad, just different.

many years ago I started listening to bright eyes, The highschool that I have went to have never heard such a face. now I see that one of my favourite bands have done a cover of my number 1 help music. its nice to hear a worship to another famous musician.

So what if this song is different from the original? Brandon Flowers said that if they do a cover song, they either do it their own way - completely different, or they cover the song like the way it originally sounded. An example is Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits where everything sounds almost completely the same as the original, at least for a cover song. And then again we have Shadowplay originally by Joy Division where The Killers made their own touch to it. It's the way they do it!

I don't know why so many people are complaining, yes its not the bright eyes version but if all music is the same then what's the point. I like it, I like both versions because they are not the same.

So the Killers are my favorite band ever, but I like the Bright Eyes version better. I don't feel bad about it though...this version is a 10/10..it's just that Bright Eyes is 11/10.

many years ago I started listening to bright eyes, The highschool that I have went to have never heard such a face. now I see that one of my favourite bands have done a cover of my number 1 help music. its nice to hear a worship to another famous musician.

So what if this song is different from the original? Brandon Flowers said that if they do a cover song, they either do it their own way - completely different, or they cover the song like the way it originally sounded. An example is Romeo and Juliet by Dire Straits where everything sounds almost completely the same as the original, at least for a cover song. And then again we have Shadowplay originally by Joy Division where The Killers made their own touch to it. It's the way they do it!

both versions are great, but personally, i like the killers version better. the mood of the song matches the harsh lyrics better. the killers version is kind of edgy, while the bright eyes version seems like a happy country song. but for the people hating on the killers, just because you like the original better doesnt mean you have to call this version "disgusting" or "vomit". for people hating on bright eyes, if it werent for their version, the killers wouldnt have a song to cover

I don't think bands should be critisised for covering songs especially by fans of the original, it's just hypocritical.
