man, cannot imagine what could have happened if Gordon did not decide to go to Hendrick. What if he had gone to a Ford team? Would Roush been more successful with him? Its mind boggling to think. Would Bill Davis Racing had lasted longer?
Jeff Gordon made the correct choice... Hard to do but you gotta go where the success is and I think Jeff saw more success with Hendrick then with Davis and that was before Hendrick became the powerhouse that it is today... GORDON MADE IT A POWER HOUSE!!!
The irony of how this story is presented has probably already been pointed out, but wow, that's too funny to me especially with him winning today. Where's Bill Davis now? Not in NASCAR anymore.
Joey Logano looks a lot like Jeff Gordon does in this piece...only thing about Joey Logano is he's still not as talented as Jeff is nor does he have the best equipment. Also the competition level was not as good then as it is now. Except now everyone is outspending one another and distributing equipment to the lead driver of the operation.
gordons making a big mistake, um i dont think so, 82 wins, 4 cup titles, and 5 titles as a co owner, id say that was pretty smart to ditch that team and the horrid blue oval
Damn back stabber to Ford....and right they'll be meeting again...lol...No but it was a good move because I doubt he would of gotten four championships if he would of stayed.

It's funny to see Bill Davis whine about loyalty today after his Toyota/Dodge deal.
This wouldn't be the only time Ford would lose a top driver from the open wheel ranks, as Kasey Kahne defected to Dodge about a decade later.

@ooeellama and now Kahne is defecting to chevy.
