It's even sadder if you figure out that Shanghai isn't sentient, but merely a extension of Alice herself, and her unchecked schizophrenia/MPD is wrecking her grip on reality. This entire video is played out by Alice sitting in her attic, playing with dolls. The real Marisa has long passed away and has been reduced to a vague memory.

@Stig22121 actually it's because humans in gensokyo live a normal lifespan however alice is not human. There is actually a specific difference between human magicians and youkai magicians

@watafug Last time I checked, it was specifically stated that humans in Gensokyo live longer lifespans than normal, I'm not sure if that means 150 or 500 years, I do not know.

Thus brings up the question about youkai, and how long they can live. Is it limited like a humans, or is it eternal like is rumored to be for the lunarians? Until the Drunken Master reveals this, I'll just assume Marisa is a game breaker and will live until the sun explodes.

The point is that no matter how long Marisa leaves, she will still age while Alice stays the same. Eventually Marisa will die and Alice will be the one who cries last, since thats the point at the end.

She loves Marisa but is unsure if she can handle the inevitable pain of losing Marisa when she dies.

@Stig22121 not entirely, remember she is human, just like us, so in the video she dies on old age, since she is in her mid-teens now, the end is probably in 70-80 years, but still, reimu and marisa arent youkai, youkai can live for 1000+ years without aging... is IS possible for marisa to turn youkai, but you have to take alot of things into consideration.

No, no. There are no humans in Gensokyo, apart from Marisa and Reimu, Sanae, Sakuya, (Mokou and Kaguya, too. But, they're immortal. Also, Rinnosuke is half-human half-youkai, and Keine is half-human half-beast.) The rest are Youkai. Alice is a Youkai. Youkais' live much longer than humans do. When Marisa dies, Alice still would not have aged much, if not at all.
