the error popped up cuz the program was running "oops" anyway cuz there was nothing stopping it from doin that, the on error was just making it skip to that code

How about showing them the proper way of coding? However it's just the same but I suggest you to show the proper way, the one with declaration of variables. Something like: Dim a, b, c As Double and etc...

Why declare variables for a program that doesnt need them? That's just extra code that will confuse beginners. Besides, this shows how objects in VB can be used like variables and modified in the same way.

Of course, you compile it and make an executable. I guess I forgot to mention that. Its in the file menu, I forget exactly what its called (im not home right now) but its like build project or something. You should know it when ya see it.
