  • Here is where Andy ruled the world... Switching from reggae to rock to classic guitar and back again ... What a guitarist , some times I think its He who made the police sound ... No stewart ! No sting! No all of them ....

  • ive followed the police since i was around 13/14 circa 1978 like to think i know all of there music dont ever recall hearing this wtf is that all about great song anyway.

  • this is the first youtube video i've encountered with 100% likes. and that is absolutely justified.

my favourite Police song at the moment.

  • @philipatoz. you are so right. Those that knock Sting and the Police don't appreciate the brilliance of their music and musicianship skills. Andy was an accomplished jazz guitarist before he joined the Police which is why his guitar contributions were so brilliant. What other 3 piece could have become the biggest band in the world? The whole Police phenomenon is unlikely to ever be repeated again.

  • i could eat this song with a spoon...

  • its not the Zenyatta Mondata Tour Live but rockpalast

  • Great song! But who wears their own t-shirt when playing live? You can do better than that, Sting.

  • @metastasisman LOL!

  • @metastasisman But you know, only Sting would.

  • I mean... KlarK Kent

  • KlerK Kunt

  • the sound is like a tropical cumbia in the drums and bass

  • The sound like a tropikal cumbia :)

  • If they'd just have made studio albums a few more years...

  • Absolutely brilliant, a chemistry shared never to be seen again, best version of Bring on the Night ever!!

  • Wonderful. I've been there from east Europe, I was 16.

  • What a break from Summers...class.

  • Andy is rooooooockkkin be dwa be sawww bblewwwe

  • who is this

  • i prefer police at these days, their reunion tour wasn't that good in my opinion

  • wish they did this song as a full version on the reunion tour

  • stewart is killing it after the solo he rules. those chops r insane

  • fu**i

    ng awesome!

  • Tremenda versión

  • stewart copeland's drumming makes me cry its so good makes me look shit

  • @huggybar17 Yes man, I know!

  • @huggybar17

i DID cry at the reunion tour. I was in front hanging onto the railing. Didnt even cry the multiple times I caught Sting in concert but seeing Stewart actually live and playing my fav music that no other drummer could ever capture was.....a river.

  • TRAEME LA NOCHE, fuerza Gustavo Ceratti

  • the police my first major concert in paris 82 and 83 so many lovely memories plus at the time they were my favorite band what a treat

  • dame this was 30 years ago , but yet it's ageless :)

  • Super Andy,Super group!!!!

  • ¡No me canso de irla una y otra vez, es bestial!

  • One of their top 3 songs!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrBiscuit77 you should say "their best song"...

  • The Police Rules !

  • my favorite version, wahhh.

what a wonderful evening this was.

    i was 16, she a bit older ;-)

  • That's impossible to hear this song standing still!!!

  • This song is one ov my favourite Police song's for the sheer fact it was when i jus started college back in 2003 and i started really appreciating alot ov music and Regatta de blanc was one of my first albums i bought! wot a great album and so much feeling!

  • What a perfect band, sting voice is amazing in this song, and watch Andy's guitar, it seems that there are THREE guitarist plying...unique band

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • This is such a great song- even to listen to it without lyrics, simply beautiful!! Andy is simply the best!

  • This is just a great song! Of the bands that got tagged with the New Wave label, The Police were one of the few that truly had some chops and also whose music wasn't just predictable, four-chord crap. So often, Sting and Stewart are anchoring this great rhythmic canvas, while Andy is overlaying it with these gorgeous textures of glorious soundscapes. Their albums are all considerably different - and not one is bad. Not too many popstars are also great musicians, but The Police definitely were!

  • @philipatoz I couldn't have said this better - really I couldn't have said it. Sting and the Police are real legends, and you sir, are an eloquent wordsmith.

  • @philipatoz very well put!

  • i wish i would have a time-mashine;-)

    this band is/ was???? unbeliveable.

  • @philipatoz you give good comment...i agree - there are such subtleties with the police - and there were only 3 of them making all that music. my ultimate favorite group.

  • andys summers it's guitar player favorite, it's a good player !!!

Andy Summers t'es le meilleurs !!!!!!!<3

  • I think Andy should turn the volume a little up on his guitar so people are able to hear his amazing guitar playing.

  • This version of "Bring On The Night" has got the best solo in it, in my opinion!

  • je suis d'accord , c'est le meilleur solo de tout les live !!

    Best Solo !!

  • @Joyster2212

tell that to the sound engineer. what ur hearing is HIS mix.

more correctly, there are a minimum of 3 mixes via a '3 way split' from the stage. 1 to the house (audience), another to the monitor guy (so the boys could hear themselves and yet another to the video truck (they have separate control on each channel (instrument/voice).

What YOU hear in this video is the latter.

    TMI I know :-)

  • bring on the night

i couldn´t spend another hour of daylight

    bring on the night

i couldn´t stand another hour of daylight

  • its a pity that stewart has all that delay effect on his drums which makes the mix very wishy washy...iguess he was trying something new, as they always did with the tunes

  • is it me or are all the instruments really low in the mix?

    Sting's voice is very pre-dominant

  • Ya, think so .. couldnt even hear the bass for the first part .. i was llookin to see if it had cut out by the expression on thier faces, hard to tell in this one

  • this is the second vid of bring on the night ive watched where the guitar is out o tune with bass, i thought it was quality of the recording, but damn. i think i prefer the studio version

  • I think Sting's the one to blame since he's playing a fretless bass and his left hand's obviously not always finding the correct spot! That's something that had bothered me about this whole show already at the time it was broadcast, almost 30 years ago!!

  • Well, i saw one vid just now where sting was verrrry far off tune, and was using the fretless .. but i dont know what you guys are talking about in this vid, hes in tune with andy here. It's also hard to see but, i dont think hes using his fretless here either

  • It's a fretless! Back then, Sting had two fretless Fenders with maple(!) fingerboard, this red one and a blonde one which can be seen in the 'Roxanne' video.

  • Yes, this is a fretless, as well as the two fenders, he also had an ibanez as seen in message in a bottle vid.

It would be nice to seem him back on fretless. It's impressive he could play fretless and lead vocals at the same time.

  • those bass guitars have fret markings on top of the fingerboard so when ur looking down u know where u are.....dont play the blame game myself

  • how confident is stingo here.....he dares to don the t shirt of world domination that year/////thata ma boy

  • amazing

  • This is about the fifth different version of this song i have seen on youtube and he plays that solo different evey time. Viva Andy.

  • Well, i`m pretty sure, this concert was on 18th of october 1980, i was watching it on german tv. Wow, almost 28 years ago, Rockpalastnacht. Can anyone confirm?

  • yeah, I watched that too.

  • Kaum zu glauben, danke Helga. Oder....falls Du aus Apeldoorn kommst....Bedankt! ;-)

  • Funny thing is...Andy never liked to play solos, he would much rather have a piece picked out before the show instead of just improvising on stage.

  • Actually Andy luuuved solos. It was Sting who didn't see the point of them. Have you read Andy's autobiography One Train Later yet? Fantastic book.

  • I see. Well I heard that he preferred carefully crafted guitar pieces instead in an interview with stewart. And I am actually still looking for the book :)

  • behind the music on VH1 had a great part where Sting would scowel at Andy if they solo went more than 8 bars....

  • I read it , It was one of the only books that kept me reading for a long time =]

  • simple and great solo

  • This video was (already 20 years ago) very usefull when I was learning how to play Bring on the Night on my guitar. I have never heard Andy playing this solo again.

  • this is excellent, and rarely seen, is there much more stuff from germany 80, or this tour? nice one....

  • this guitar solo is pretty cool, but they changed the original solo here. the '79 solo is much better than this one, I think.

  • woww!! Love it! The police FOREVER AND EVER!!! Sting knows what to do!

"The UNIVERSE is... but a... question mark!..."

  • Sencillamente, insuperable. Esto es música con sentido, dedicación y buen gusto.

  • Wow!Muchisimas gracias por subir este tema!!! de verdad, gracias desde Argentina. Chauuu

Ah, cinco estrellas y entre mis favoritos eh?
