Woah. Hey. I just noticed a "flaw" in this rip. At about 2:04, the intro is repeated in the BACKGROUND of the "real" track. This isn't supposed to happen.
Do you remember mission in Firestorm with Stalker(GDI), when he have to free mutants,it really fits there, I just lost all the soliders and used him...
I need this for my iPod... so heroic... anyone know where to get it?
This theme is the theme of the Global Defense Initiative. It is solemn, as their duties are, but heroic, and speaks of hope of a brighter future yet to come. Tiberium WILL be stopped, and if they have to pave the crystaline fields with the blood Kane's zealots to do so, they will do so. Nothing will stop them from fighting for victory, for the eventualy freedom of the world... or they'll die trying.
This track is a Magic! What it really, really stands for is : NEVER, EVER EVER GIVE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO MATTER WHAT, NO MATTER THE ODDS, NO MATTER THE COST, NO MATTER ANYTHING : FIGHT LIKE A FREE MAN, FIGHT FOR ALL THAT YOU LOVE AND STAND FOR, BE YOUR OWN HEART ON THE FIELD, BE YOUR OWN LOVE AND YOUR OWN DREAMS IN FLESH AND BLOOD ON THE FIELD -
i got addicted to this song since i found it on youtube 4 days ago. got to listen to it everyday... this game was just awesome. reminds me of better days and stuff..... ;)
i played Red Alert and Tiberian Sun in elementary back in days.
Recently checked the C&C franchises, realized this series ended up as i did not expect. Just hoping that first decade of C&C series will remain as historical PC game.
@sanpei220000 Back in elementary school, me and my best friend were the only 2 people in the school who played C&C. We felt so cool being able to make jokes and references to C&C games without other students knowing what the hell we were talking about.
I still make jokes and references with friends and I just graduated in June. Westwood's legacy lives on.
And Frank Klepacki's music is what got me into electronic music.
Cheers, Westwood and Frank! Peace through power! :D
@Hellmarch5000 I think they did a good job with Tiberium Wars, so it's not totally bad, but it would have been cool too see what Westwood would have made.
Their helmets when I look back totally remind me of Battlestar Gallactica. And I never really figured out why the hell the genadier transformed into a discus thrower...
Tiberian sun easily one of the best RTS in terms gameplay, story, atmosphere and 2 balanced faction (sure you cna argue this and that are imba IMO the only unit that was way to good for cost was the orca bomber it made orca fighter almost 100% useless -_-) but anyways the weird thing is that if EA didnt rush the game it could have been much MUCH more...
@SlyNicolai Granted, the edit function can be abused. However, if you read everything from historians, such as basic SOCIAL STUDIES AND HISTORY TEXT BOOKS, you will find that everything I said is true. Wikipedia is correct much of the time. @SlyNicolai they knew it for a long while. Dont be fooled by repeated fallacies where it was "columbus proving it was round". The world was known to be round much longer than before columbus. It's been known to be for about 2000 years. Much longer than laypeople think.
@SlyNicolai Dude, are you for real? They WERE trying to get to the orient. I just said why they went the other way. They thought that going that route would be quicker and less hazardous. AS for "in charge of the luxury", I dont know what you mean.
@SlyNicolai No man. Seriously. Thats what. Several voyages. You know why they call native americans "indians"? because they actually thought they were in India. They tried making several maps when they hit land a ton of times.
it was about a hundred or so years later that they figured out 'oh shit there is a whole fucking continent blocking us from China"
They didn't know a whole lot during Medieval times. We have the documents to prove it.
@SlyNicolai nothing gave them that idea. They stumbled upon it. They were trying to get to the Orient to gain access to the riches, delicassies, and luxuries that could be found there. They attempted to cross the "world ocean" because there were too many hazards and tolls over the land route.
@SlyNicolai We do know. The concept that Atlantis was a real city was never taken seriously until the modern day. The greeks of the day took them as the thought experiments they were. Plato said outright that it wasnt real.
@SlyNicolai Atlantis isn't real, period. It never existed. It was a figment of Plato's imagination. The only reason people speak of Atlantis is because of Plato's philosophical work "Timaeus". This was the best C&C game. Ever. It just kind of got ruined once EA took over. :/ At least they recognize it as a classic though and have it for free now because I lost my Battle Theatre(I think that's what the set was called) and my First Decade disks. You just can't beat a Westwood C&C game. Especially Tiberian Sun and Firestorm.
Hey everybody - I just released my solo album "Mirror Image" that contains electronic upbeat and ambient songs inspired by the music of Frank Klepacki and the Command & Conquer video game series. If you're interested you can check out the songs on my youtube page, and links to my myspace page and places to download the full album are on my youtube channel as well :) .
Frank Klepacki really nailed the soundtrack for Tiberian Sun. In my opinion it really catches the futuristic, somewhat dystopian feel of the game. On that note he blew my mind with Tiberian Dawn and impressed me with Red Alert as well. His later works have been less impressive, but on the other hand what has he had to work with? RA3? Bleh.
@troll21 he only did 2-3 themes for RA3, his Universe at War soundtrack is still true to his style. Majority of RA3 and Tiberium Wars tracks are fairly short and unmemorable. It sucks when you don't have trademark ingame playlist and songs get interrupted because they are tied to game events. Just when a track gets to its good part, wham! You eat superweapon or get attacked and some other short track kicks in.
*sniff sniff* R.I.P westwood, we will miss Tiberian sun fill with constant reminders about how you need more silos, that your harvester is under attack, that there is a missile launch detected, that your ion cannon is ready, etc.
Did you get the hidden message in this outwordly melody? NEVER, EVER GIVE UP, no matter the odds, no matter nothing! Even a lone trooper is much bigger than he seems to be... HOPE dies last! Magical music! All of TS!
@Sleepy1988 Indeed. Frank Klepacki composed the music for C&C Tiberian Dawn, and Tiberian Sun, as well as the expansion packs (Covert Operations and Firestorm). He also did the music for the C&C games Red Alert and Red Alert 2. Personally, I think some of his best work is split between Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun, but that's just my opinion.
This track change my life. The music is so complex yet so simple but transmits every emotion of the game. I was like mad looking this track all over you tube.
this is by far a soundtrack that i remember when i was kid at age 8 playing this brings back so many child hood memmories and ea just took it and flushed it down the toilet like shit... im not saying i dont like new things but i just wish ea didnt buy all of westwood. ea killed the cnc theme and mood of the game. they took away most of the cool units such as banshees, orca bombers, firestorm generater, etc. all of the soundtracks are good.
Had this kind of awesome Vietnam alternate reality take for me. Why Vietnam? I dunno.
Tiberian Sun
Futuristic Technology awesome gameplay just always fun, mutants had a story and the Firestorm Add on just made the game 100 times better. (My Fave)
Tiberium Wars
They dumped all the awesome units . . . and tech levels couldn't be set in multiplayer, I just don't like nukes or anything that's basically a no skill win button.
@ANGRYMAPLE: Totally agree with you! The Wars and Twilight were just created using The Good Ol' Frigging Familiar "Copy 'n Paste from other games" system. For example, I'd guess that the EA scavenged that "No base" thing from Warhammer. So the guys at EA thought, "Hey, let's steal some ideas and make all of the world love us for creating shitty, err, good game! Let's make the Warhammer -players love us and let's say Fuck you to the original C&C players."
@TheTwilightUnicorn As a lover of both CnC and Dawn of War, I can attest to this. The newer CnC games were fucking terrible, an affront to what Command and Conquer used to be. I miss the days where I could lay a beatdown to great songs like this, though technically those days haven't ended since I still have the game. But you get what I mean. The gameplay was a bastardized and flawed mashup and, well, flat out sucked.
There are others better in their own fields, but when is about C&C nostalgia this song has the upper hand.
I still remember those years, so far ago, so many things have changed and yet some feelings are the same, we are still the lone trooper, still figthing through life in our own secret wars...
oh i remember the times i used to play this. my dad would always wake up to find me on this game. he'd say "son what are you doing up this late? and how did you know how to turn on the game?" since i was only 4. I would respond "dad the tanks are killing me!!"
You know, thinking about it more, it captures the situation in Tib Sun/Firestorm perfectly; world's going to hell, but there's still hope; they just have to fight for it. Almost makes me wish Frank Klepacki accepted EA's offer to do Tib Wars' music; but that'd be kinda cruel to ask him to overwork himself (That's correct, he declined EA's offer to do Tib Wars music because he was currently busy at the time.)
Heck, the uniforms in Tib Sun were pretty awsome, kinda wish they were reused later. :/
*incoming unknown transmission* "My name is Disk Thrower, i'm a GDI remenent living in the wastland, I am broadcasting on all GDI frequencies I will be at the abandoned seaport every day when the sun is highest in the sky If you are out there, if anyone is out there I can provide food, hospitality, and security if there is anybody out there anybody... please you are not alone, This message is untracable to any NOD radio frequencies, see you soon. *message repeats*
VatcanIscariot's right, Hell March was the best track Westwood dreamed up. I think their songs are absolute genius, but the only dissapointment was the red alert themes, EXCEPT Big Foot, that song rocks for it's time, forget Hell March 1
I admit, C&C3 was actually pretty good, sure there were some flaws like the fucking overpowered scrin, but i enjoyed it, THEN ra3 came out and i thought it was gonna be pretty good, next day, my computer blows up in shittiness, C&C4 i committed suicide to prevent me to witness such a fuckup.
@300pidary Think of throwing a disk like a frisbee, it can go further when thrown compared to a grenade. Plus if you watched the video clip with the disk thrower in action, it shows him destroying a SAM Site with it.
@300pidary The only reason why in 2030 GDI used disks instead of grenades was that The efficient disc shaped grenades are at the same time more powerful and longer ranged than normal hand grenades. The aerodynamic shape increases range and allows them to skip along the ground. However this also makes it difficult for a Disc Thrower to hit his target sometimes.
Starting with the jump back from the dark and futuristic world of TS in CnC3, there is probably nothing in the C&C universe (Red Alert included) that EA hasn't fucked up.
Frank Klepacki surly knows how to compose interesting music....Song title always correspond to the music, I feel like a lone trooper for sure....All the others are killed, just one left
@TraceurMikado Tiberium Twilight, a horrible game to end the series, NO base building, NO tiberium harvesting basically. In lamest terms, it's not command and conquer.
Conglomerates ruin creative industry, developers are best left owned by nobody, a publisher should publish, nothing more. No intervention, no cutting deadlines, no management of the developer. The developer should make a game, and have it published, nothing more. And with the internet, and digital distribution, this might become possible without publishers even existing, a developer should be able to make a game, and sell it without being fucked over.

EamonnMR 8 months ago
@troll21 he only did 2-3 themes for RA3, his Universe at War soundtrack is still true to his style. Majority of RA3 and Tiberium Wars tracks are fairly short and unmemorable. It sucks when you don't have trademark ingame playlist and songs get interrupted because they are tied to game events. Just when a track gets to its good part, wham! You eat superweapon or get attacked and some other short track kicks in.

@Desolator84 His music in UAW was good as well, i especially liked the part of the intro where the Novus show up.

@AccountProto5X to be honest, I wanted to dress up as one of the Nod troopers for Halloween. Their uniforms were the definition of slick.

*sniff sniff* R.I.P westwood, we will miss Tiberian sun fill with constant reminders about how you need more silos, that your harvester is under attack, that there is a missile launch detected, that your ion cannon is ready, etc.

@TheDerHeinrich It's made by both, Mendelson assisted to get the gloomy atmosphere to the music.

Did you get the hidden message in this outwordly melody? NEVER, EVER GIVE UP, no matter the odds, no matter nothing! Even a lone trooper is much bigger than he seems to be... HOPE dies last! Magical music! All of TS!

Does this music remind anyone else, at least a little bit, of the music from Deus Ex?
Were these tracks composed by Frank Klepacki?
Sleepy1988 1 year ago 2
@Sleepy1988 Indeed. Frank Klepacki composed the music for C&C Tiberian Dawn, and Tiberian Sun, as well as the expansion packs (Covert Operations and Firestorm). He also did the music for the C&C games Red Alert and Red Alert 2. Personally, I think some of his best work is split between Tiberian Dawn and Tiberian Sun, but that's just my opinion.

this is by far a soundtrack that i remember when i was kid at age 8 playing this brings back so many child hood memmories and ea just took it and flushed it down the toilet like shit... im not saying i dont like new things but i just wish ea didnt buy all of westwood. ea killed the cnc theme and mood of the game. they took away most of the cool units such as banshees, orca bombers, firestorm generater, etc. all of the soundtracks are good.
R.I.P westwood.

Tiberium Dawn
Had this kind of awesome Vietnam alternate reality take for me. Why Vietnam? I dunno.
Tiberian Sun
Futuristic Technology awesome gameplay just always fun, mutants had a story and the Firestorm Add on just made the game 100 times better. (My Fave)
Tiberium Wars
They dumped all the awesome units . . . and tech levels couldn't be set in multiplayer, I just don't like nukes or anything that's basically a no skill win button.
Tiberium Twighlight
No bases and limited units. . . wtf
ANGRYMAPLE 1 year ago 2
@ANGRYMAPLE: Totally agree with you! The Wars and Twilight were just created using The Good Ol' Frigging Familiar "Copy 'n Paste from other games" system. For example, I'd guess that the EA scavenged that "No base" thing from Warhammer. So the guys at EA thought, "Hey, let's steal some ideas and make all of the world love us for creating shitty, err, good game! Let's make the Warhammer -players love us and let's say Fuck you to the original C&C players."
The result? A game which everyone hates!
TheTwilightUnicorn 1 year ago
@TheTwilightUnicorn As a lover of both CnC and Dawn of War, I can attest to this. The newer CnC games were fucking terrible, an affront to what Command and Conquer used to be. I miss the days where I could lay a beatdown to great songs like this, though technically those days haven't ended since I still have the game. But you get what I mean. The gameplay was a bastardized and flawed mashup and, well, flat out sucked.

C&C4 is not a command and conquer at all... :(
joebadams4 1 year ago
There are others better in their own fields, but when is about C&C nostalgia this song has the upper hand.
I still remember those years, so far ago, so many things have changed and yet some feelings are the same, we are still the lone trooper, still figthing through life in our own secret wars...

t2isrippinkinda 1 year ago 4
You know, thinking about it more, it captures the situation in Tib Sun/Firestorm perfectly; world's going to hell, but there's still hope; they just have to fight for it. Almost makes me wish Frank Klepacki accepted EA's offer to do Tib Wars' music; but that'd be kinda cruel to ask him to overwork himself (That's correct, he declined EA's offer to do Tib Wars music because he was currently busy at the time.)
Heck, the uniforms in Tib Sun were pretty awsome, kinda wish they were reused later. :/

VatcanIscariot's right, Hell March was the best track Westwood dreamed up. I think their songs are absolute genius, but the only dissapointment was the red alert themes, EXCEPT Big Foot, that song rocks for it's time, forget Hell March 1
ElChipotle200 1 year ago
I admit, C&C3 was actually pretty good, sure there were some flaws like the fucking overpowered scrin, but i enjoyed it, THEN ra3 came out and i thought it was gonna be pretty good, next day, my computer blows up in shittiness, C&C4 i committed suicide to prevent me to witness such a fuckup.

stupid name and kind of soldier: DISK THROWER!!
why they hadn`t called him GRENADIER or something like that???!!
would be more serious and realistic than a funny disk thrower ... uuuuhhhh
300pidary 1 year ago
@300pidary Think of throwing a disk like a frisbee, it can go further when thrown compared to a grenade. Plus if you watched the video clip with the disk thrower in action, it shows him destroying a SAM Site with it.
Yrrej8611 1 year ago
@Yrrej8611 you must be kidding ...
300pidary 1 year ago
@300pidary The only reason why in 2030 GDI used disks instead of grenades was that The efficient disc shaped grenades are at the same time more powerful and longer ranged than normal hand grenades. The aerodynamic shape increases range and allows them to skip along the ground. However this also makes it difficult for a Disc Thrower to hit his target sometimes.
joebadams4 1 year ago
Starting with the jump back from the dark and futuristic world of TS in CnC3, there is probably nothing in the C&C universe (Red Alert included) that EA hasn't fucked up.
IMO the best games in this series were RA and TS.
