  • she died cause she wasn't as pretty as katie holmes

  • "She was going to wait for me, Alfred."

  • @thunderpantz man, i hope you get top comment

i so hate it that all the top comments are in some way funny or clever...

but few times something that makes you think. and never something that

leaves you with a sour taste.

pity. it s what makes us human.

  • I love Nolan for this movie. If the villain dropped the Damsel in distress off the building and it doesn't kill her, just blow her up for the second time.

  • Jesus christ an entire forest? Good job Alfred.

  • ''We burned the forest down'' could have been the tagline to the whole movie. Such an amazing scene.

  • such a great scene.

  • I wonder, when Batman went to visit Dent at the hospital, did he walk through the front door, check in at reception and ask which room Harvey Dent is at?

Imagine how the people working and waiting in line would react to that.

  • Batman just got friendzoned.

  • "I let that murdering psychopath blow him half to hell"

    Badum-tsh!

  • The idea behind "we burned the forest down" ties in with someone who "wants to watch the world burn". So in a sense, in the process of stopping a madman, you end up accomplishing what he wants to do. Irony.

  • @mykebulvai kind of, but what he really means is that he burned the forest down and batman "burns the forest down" in gotham by using the sonar to find and stop the joker

  • the same thing happen to me with some girl (except she didn't die and she got with somebody else) i feel you batman :/

  • Did Batman eventually read that letter from Rachel?

  • @marcusduck I don't think so , you can see Alfred burning it in the final montage during the end speech from Batman

  • Now I'm sure the day won't come when we no longer need Batman.

  • even batman got put in the friend zone

  • @JohnathanHillbery the friend zone takes the best of us and tears them down

  • @814DAN418 yeah just happaned to me recently!

  • 0:12 Oh don't mind me, I'm just standing here looking badass while you do the work

  • Not only did Alfred and his friends burn the forest down, they think it's humorous.

  • whenever Bruce speaks a word to Alfred, Alfred automatically starts giving a profound speech, i can imagine this scene:

Alfred: here's some breakfast master Wayne, i cooked you some eggs

Bruce: eggs?! you know i don't like eggs Alfred

Alfred: a long time ago i was in south Africa i was apart of a British army, we were stationed in a hospital base in a place called rorke's drift when 4000 Zulu warriors approached and attacked us, we were forced to go into battle with them

  • Because sometimes the truth isn't good enough

  • since we don't know too much abot the bandit Alfred was trying to catch could it not be that said bandit was bane? Because from what we know abot Nolan's version of the character he's been badly injured and needs his mask to survive. Could it be that he got burned as Alfred and his friends burned down that forest in Burma?

  • @Regenmacher175 nice ;)

  • Batman and the story of Batman beats any other superhero with overpowered super powers in the history of superheroes. He is a true bad ass if you ask me.

  • Bale is really good in this scene.

  • This movie would suck without Heath Ledger.

  • @themenaceanish yeah but dude they gotta have a story around him. so yeah it might be a little boring.

  • I can't help but feel that this letter is going to become relevant again during the next film, as far as Bruce's ability to trust Alfred is concerned. i'm sure Alfred will eventually tell him what he knew about Rachel's feelings for Harvey Dent.

  • Heath Ledger owned this movie. Fuck Bale and his stupid dog voice.

  • @themenaceanish wat? man fuck u hater

  • @themenaceanish obvously but bale is a great actor and he in his own way made the movie great too. joker and batman are yin and yang. joker wouldnt have happened without batman. and dude the martial arts were sick and so was the story, bale definitley helped the movie be better

  • @themenaceanish Heath was an did an amazing job for the film and it's undeniable that this movie is better for it. That being said... A seriously over looked aspect of this film is Eckhart's performance as Harvey Dent. Eckhart simply made his character breathe with life and his transformation into Two Face made audiences cringe at his abandonment of his good nature and his fight against crime. No actor dominated this film, they all worked together to make it great. Lets not forget Gary Oldman.

  • @themenaceanish I smell a troll.

  • @themenaceanish You're being one dimensional when you're looking at this film. People love Batman, people love it when Batman fights one of his tough villians, Joker, so it is not exactly true to say people went just for Heath (even though a lot probably did). It's not fair to say Eckhart was hammy when I felt he put as much conviction in his acting as Ledger. Hell my dad who was a batman fan since he was a kid thought Heath overacted in this film. The Bat voice could be worked on.

  • @jd1060 Heath Ledger overrated? LOL! Your dad is alone on that one XD

  • @themenaceanish Why have you got such a hard on for Heath Ledger, you do realise he's not American don't you? Heath Ledger is overrated as an actor, Bale is far superior. Fact. You know nothing about film. Fact. Go and watch Twilight for the 23rd time you fuckin nancy boy.

  • @bennyboyjones ROFL! Bale better than Leger? I'M NOT WEARING HOCKEY PADS LOOOOOOOL!

You're too funny dude XD Bale far superior? Good joke dude XD

  • @themenaceanish Hockey pads? Don't know what the fuck you're on about. I repeat, Heath Ledger is NOT AN AMERICAN, therefore you must hate him. You hate anything and anyone that isn't a yank, remember? Name one good film aside from Dark Knight that Ledger's been in. That's right, you can't. Ledger's best performance doesn't even come close to Bale's worst. Dumb yankee dankee doodle piece of dick.

  • @bennyboyjones LOOOL! Where have I said I hated all foreigners? God you're so dumb XD I know Heath Ledger's an Australian, I've been making fun of Australia. But he starred in an American movie, played an American comic book character and gave one of the greatest all time acting performances and I salute that.

Bale better than Ledger? ROFL! Go to any one of the Heath Ledger Joker videos and say that and see how you get bitch slapped by everyone.

Bale better than Heath Ledger? LMFAO!

  • @themenaceanish You hate all non-Americans, what a sad little motherfucking cunt-face whore you are.

  • @TheDensley7 Where have I said that I hate all non Americans huh?

  • @themenaceanish I'm just making a judgement based on your xenephobic bullshit.

  • @TheDensley7 well in my opinion. i dont know if ur American or not but if u are.. ur not representing us very well by ur use of profanity.. profanity doesnt make us smarter by using it...just a heads up!!

  • @cmoeller3 I'm not American, so fuck you.

  • we burned the forest down. Yeah, Joker was better than that bandit. He burned a bit of Gotham down and then let them catch him.

  • "but rachel, alfred"

  • "dent doesn't know"

bruce, you will never know the irony

    love da 4th wall lol

  • Such an emotionally painful letter. Love now and always Rachel, just Beautiful.

  • There must be a loaded trash can in the building labeled "Meals that Bruce Wayne has Never touched" Alfred cooks all the time!

  • 1:25 Some guys spying on people with binoculars and comes across bruce in his Batman suit. lol

  • @Dave10Patch haha that's exactly what I thought when I was watching it at the cinema

  • @Dave10Patch Where?

  • @Dave10Patch No they can't see anything from the outside.

  • @Dave10Patch What are the chances of that happening in a big city like gotham?

  • "we burned the forest down"

Alfred is such a stone-cold motherfucker

  • @tearsinrain86 watch the movie Harry Brown, is the same actor, badass x2.

  • This movie would be nothing and actually quite boring without Heath Ledger. He owned the movie and saved Christian Bale's embarassment of his gay ass batman voice lol!

  • @TheAmerican732 jog on with your verbal diarrhoea of a comment. clearly you know nothing about film making and if the voice was that bad nolan the director would of told him to not use it! end of!

  • @hassankemal Maybe Bale threatened to kick Nolan's ass if he didn't let him use his precious dog voice lol! He sure does have form for threatening people. He threated his mom and sister and then went full crazy on a lighting guy on the set of Terminator Salvation XD Funny how he uses the same dog voice in TS as he did in The Dark Knight lmfao!

I'll only be going to see The Dark Knight Rises for Tom Hardy as Bane and Catwoman. I actually don't give a shit about Batman XD Bane is going to be cool

  • @TheAmerican732 Bale's voice was enchanced in TDK.

  • Why can't all movies be this good?

  • What can we learn from this scene? Well, I can tell you: never trust a woman.

  • batman didnt show enough anger against joker when he was fighting him. after what he did to racheal he should have been PISSED

but as the viewer i didnt care as much cuz it wasnt KATIE HOLMES ANYWAy

  • @DoubleAgent244 I think he was emotionally burned out. And I think that's what they were trying for. At this point in the story, he has fully become Batman. Now Bruce Wayne is just a facade, a mask to hide his true self from the world. He can never go back. And as Batman, he couldn't show emotion because emotion is part of being human. He's now a symbol, an ideal (in this case, justice). It might be a human ideal, but has no humanity in it. Just my thoughts on it.

  • @DoubleAgent244 ditto. you dont know how pissed i was on findin out that Katie is replaced by Maggie. wtf. i hate when they changed the actors, especially the one that i adore..! an ugh,if they had to anyway, find someone good to look at! no disrespect to Maggie,i know she can act and blah blah but face it,she's ugly! if u wanna be a love interest to a billionaire and hot goodlooking guy who happens to be batman, you got to be beautiful lol xD

  • Gotham needs it's true hero not harvey dent but Batman becuz harvey dent could never do the things batman can

  • @MisterHotShotX you're absolutely right, dent can put away criminals but he must still operate within the framework of the law and his hands can still be tied by bureaucratic red tape. Batman however can swiftly mete out justice onto criminals, unencumbered by having to wait for properly issued warrants or worrying that he might have violated someone's miranda rights. As the joker said he has no jurisdiction...and like alfred said batman can make the choices no one else can make

  • @drlove1972 yeah and in the the dak knight rises Gotham is really gonna need batman more than ever cause bane is just gonna cause complete destruction and madness

  • @MisterHotShotX

Gotham doesn't need Batman. Gotham needs Punisher/Rorschach team-up to finally clean it

  • even though it goes against everything he stands for i think that at this particular moment in the story if bruce managed to get his hands around the joker's neck he really would kill him

  • I find myself loving how Michael Caine portrays Alfred, along with those meaningful quotes.

If you must burn a forest down for one man, than he truly is evil.

  • Anyone notice how when Alfred approaches Bruce its very similar to when he approaches Bruce as a kid in Batman begins when he tells Bruce his parents didn't die because of him, right down to when he says "very well then" after offering food and Bruce calls to him looking for comfort. Also the music is very identical.

  • Anyone nktixe

  • When Bruce asked Alfred how they caught the bandit, and he told them they burned the forest down, that part really makes me think.. It has a deeper meaning to it. Destroying so much for one thing? Or How much did it take to bring down this problem they had.

  • @cBksfree2rhyme i believe i got this one correctly, and this is actually the whole point of dark knight. It actually refers to destroying your ethical and moral foundations to destroy evil. the way joker challenged batman to break his 'one rule' to win against him. forest/trees symbolizes life. it asks the question on how much can the batman sacrifice in order to destroy evil and finally finding himself becoming the villain. because it kinda suggests that it takes evil to destroy evil. such art.

  • @BreakWatcher I agree. Pretty much I had the same idea of this concept that was portrayed in the movie and within these specific scenes as well. It's exactly what Dent had said earlier in the movie "You either die a hero, or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain.

  • @BreakWatcher That.... was.... beautiful BEST COMMENT IN THE HISTORY OF YOUTUBE

  • @cBksfree2rhyme Batman's :burning of the forest" moment was when he made the sonar device. It is highly unethical to spy on people, much the way that people would view burning down a forest. Both were done to capture a criminal. Lucius Fox sums this up perfectly when Batman says, "I have to find this man Lucius," Bruce replies, "At what cost?"

  • batman cute!

  • Ive been looking for alfred to say this all day.

    "How'd you catch him"

    "We burned the forest down"

    EPIC

  • i swear to god every scene from this movie is on youtube lol

  • @sqweebel oh not yet. i'm looking for the scene where two face faced ramirez. that was very cool.

  • Poor Bruce...I know how he feels. He was willing to give up being Batman just to be with the woman he loved since childhood, only to end up losing her to two things: Harvey Dent and Death.

I hope he finds out about Rachel's letter in the next movie, but at the same time, I don't, 'cause it would make me cry to see his heart break when he finds out. :(

  • @frontrowcrew227 maybe u can teach him. U seem to be an expert.

  • I'm crying when im watching it :<

  • the world is cruel ....

  • bruce lost everything

  • @TheHannahMontana1000 Damn right she had to die, and die she did!!! What did she stand for!? Addressing the truth on a chicken shit letter?? Yeah, great person!!! My point is she lied to Bruce in person and cheated on Harvey by kissing Bruce in private. She was a liar. So good riddance!!!

  • Alfred is sooo awesome!

  • @missmonkeygirl911 You mean Michael Cane is you know his actor

  • Seriously, after I saw this scene I said "Good riddance, bitch!!!" Rachel really did lead Bruce on and kind of play both guys at the same time. She tells Bruce in person that she's going to keep her promise and be with him and then addressed him the truth....on a fucking letter!? She didn't even have the guts to tell him the truth in person. I was glad to see the bitch explode!!!

  • @mattgarciatx thats kinda cold but i get what your saying and your right if rachel can't accept bruce as batman then she can't depend on him either shes not like selina or talia

  • I love this scene.
