  • Good thanks...

  • @somethinextra thanks

  • use the subtrim only for the servo horns to be 90! do everthing else mechanically! get a leveling tool... or use ziptie method if your head is mounted! you wont need to bubble level the whole helicopter ^_^! good luck sir!

  • @jbx907 thanks for the info chap!

  • oh no, you will have full throw problems with leveling swash using subtrim sir... use subtrim to get 90 degrees zero midstick then mechanically adj ur linkages to get a perfect level... you dont really need to level the heli when ur leveling the swash, we are aligning the swash level to make sure its plane is perpendicular to the main shaft thats all!

main purpose of swash leveling is getting the swash plain perfectly 90 degrees to the line of the main shaft! ziptie method will be the easiest!

  • Ridiculous when you buy a Spectrum DX7 for receiver and avoid buying a swashplate leveling tool and level with a method like this. I had seen a similar one using zip ties. If you respect your helicopter. Rather, if you respect the money you spent, you should probably get a $3 Swashplate levelling tool.

  • M8 i think piranhapaul is right man.You DONT adjust the sub trims if the swashplate isnt leveled but the LINKAGES.The SUBTRIMS you adjust them only to get your servo horn 90 degrees with the servo case at mid stick at idle up!!!!If the swash plate isnt leveled and you make it leveled with the sub trims you will "loose" the 90 degrees of the servo horns at mid stick.Think it a bit and i m sure you ll agree.

    Cheers,Stratos

  • cool...thanks for the info chap

  • @stratosFZ1

    I agree

    (Swstos o Stratos!!!)

  • @stratosFZ1 Thats is 100% correct mate! Use subtrim to get the servo horns correct first, then use linkages to get swash level. Basic rule of thumb here is to get things correct from ground up. Start with servo arms then move up the head making sure washout arms are level etc and blades are flat with TX set to mid stick (trims all centered appart from throttle).

  • Thats actually wrong way of setting up a swashplate.

With the sub-trim you only set the servo arms horizontal, then you adjust the linkages to level the swashplate.

  • good tip mate

  • Play nicely chappers your get a 600 one day ha ha lol.

  • im trying my best to talk him into it....its hard work tho!!!! i know he will love it!!

  • Thanks m8

  • Its so nice to talk to a normal person who just speeks basic english thanks a lot good start point.

  • More like he speeks a load of b####cks! Lol

  • hahahahhah

  • Well thought out mate :) top marks. The allen key method works but but with this methos (and some shaft rotation) you can be sure yo do not have a (slightly) bent shaft. So you didn't waste your time :). Thanks for the Vid :)

  • thanks m8

  • Nice job. My swashes all lean slightly to counteract the centrifugal force, but this is certainly a good starting point to get it level. 5 Stars.

  • That slipped my mind ...cheers

  • cheers good vid, i see youve got the nice carbon edition there? will be getting a heli soon

  • Great idea but there are easier ways, but at least your way don't involve taking the head off. Nice one. 5*

  • thanks man...

  • You soooooooo got way too much time on your hands mate!

  • haha... waste off time m8,there is a simple way of doing this...but i didnt know at the time!!

  • Thanks for the vid mate,we all do things abit different but if it works for you keep on doing it,it all helps in the long run,if you take a lool at Sokal 11 on here you can see a video about the allen key method,he is good with heli's as his job is in the USAF as a helicopter mechanic, keep the tutorials coming mate,5*

  • erm dont wanna piss in ya wine mate but if you just put on the swashplate then zip tie a allen key to your mainshaft so that the short art of the key points over your swash links you can then get your swash level with the mainshaft which is what you need to do in reality ;) after you level it it will be so level it will drift so then add 2 turns on the pitch servo or the ammount to get a stable air hover :) much easier and totally free as it comes with ya heli already :D

  • lol...all that f--kin around for nothing...lol

  • nope you got good experience from it mate and its a good sound idea too.... oh and with the allen key method if ya swash aint level you will find that the key will get stuck at the back of the swash (blade400) till it is totally level ;) andonly with a level swash will the key rorate 360
