her comment was from a naive young kids point of view...that does not realize that christmas is suposed to be a religous holiday...in reality christ birthday could not be the 25th of december since the sheep were in the field the time of his berth...in 336CE the roman rular declared dec 25 christ birthday pagonist celebration of Saturn (god of harvest) and Mithras (god of light) they would give gifts, sing songs, have a feast, and decorate homes with greenery is how christmas was really born...
The thing that bothers me about this part is when Angela's parents freak out like that. My mom and dad would let Ricky stay, and possibly call his house to let his parents know he's fine. But they would never take me ten feet away and argue about it like he won't hear.
the religion part pisses me off tho. what the hells wrong with not believing in god? it just seems like believing in god is the "right thing" in lotsa tv shows.
