  • Biodiesel is great, I have no idea why it's not more popular in this country. It is so much easier, cheaper, and better for the enviroment. I am really into going green and I think this is a great solution.

  • where the fuck are the black dudes eye brows?

  • @dendog21 Please refrain from speaking, that's not the point.

  • @1americanidol11 hey moron thats exactly the point! how the fuck is anyone supposed to take the video seriously when they distracted by missing eyebrows? he might as well have been wearing a clown costume. nobody is gonna pay attention to his cause because he didn't care enough to make sure he looked decent in the video. this is youtube you fuckin idiot. its all about the video. he has 20,000 views in 3 years and 28 comments. you call that a video fail. fuck the cause and fuck you too

  • @dendog21 Really? Do you really have to make one thing such a big deal? So what if it looks like he doesn't have any eyebrows? Like I said, that's not the point. The real reason why he doesn't have as much comments as he should is because alternate sources for fuel aren't very popular. Which is why people like him are trying to educate people on things like biodeisel, so our planet can be cleaner, and the hole in our ozone will stop getting bigger. Just don't make things more complicated.

  • @1americanidol11 I commented with one sentence. I stated an observation from my point of view which in america I'm aloud to do. If i choose not to comment on the point of the video that is my choice but you had to go and tell me to "refrain from speaking" as if you are the hero of the video world defending the honor of cheesy videos everywhere. I know more about pollution and biofuels than you'll ever know. I know what works and what doesn't. This video doesn't.

  • @dendog21 And how doesn't this video work?

  • @1americanidol11 The stats tell you it doesn't work. This is a 2 part video. Of the 20,000 views the first video got, almost 75% of the people didn't watch the second video. Thats assuming that all 6,000 views of the second video WERE in fact people that watched the first video. People naturally like to get information from professional looking people not some guy in a T-shirt even if he does know what he's talking about. Also want to see how to do it not just hear that they should.

  • @1americanidol11 Do a search on youtube. "How to make Biodiesel". You will see the difference in videos. Some have hundreds of views and some have hundreds of thousands of views. Watch a video at each end of the view count. Low view videos are usually bad quality video or sound and the presentation isn't rehearsed. High view videos are usually the opposite although there are few exceptions. Information alone doesn't make the video, you need presentation as well

  • @1americanidol11 Most people need to be captivated almost immediately like myself and this video doesn't do that. The only reason I watched this video all the way through is to see if it got better and it really didn't. Not in my opinion. This is youtube. There are thousands of videos and people will more than likely click to the next video rather than sit through the first part of a bad production. Do you watch the entirety of every video you click on?

  • @1americanidol11 This video also gives partial information. The man tells people its simple just some WVO, alcohol and a little lye in a blender and you got biodiesel but thats not all there is to it. You have to do titration tests on the oil, you have to obtain a large enough quantity of methynol to make the biodiesel. It takes 4 gallons of Methynol to make 20 gallons of fuel. A lot of places its illigal to store that much methynol. In older vehicles you have to replace fuel lines

  • @1americanidol11 because the fuel will eat through the older fuel lines over time. even in newer vehicles (and older vehicles) you will have to replace your fuel filters a couple times in the first couple of tanks fillups because the fuel will eat through the deposits left by regular diesel fuel clogging your filter. And if you use straight untreated WVO you have to filter it to below 10 microns or it will clog your filters. In cold climates you gotta keep the fuel warm or it will gel up.

  • @1americanidol11 To me this video was an advertisement for that company mentioned in the video. Yeah you can learn stuff from them but they will probably want you to buy their equipment.

  • @dendog21 Ohh, well ok.

  • @1americanidol11 I'll make sure I get your permission the next time I want to exercise my freedom of speech. Thats what I'll do. A 30 year old man getting permission to talk from a little 17 year old girl whats the world coming to.

  • @dendog21 You don't need permission to speak, but it is pretty rude when you're insulting someone when the whole point of the video is to educate a person on the importance of biodiesel.

  • Biofuel is okay, as long as it's from algae, and from crops.

  • Hei search in google bio diesel factory latvia. We already making it for 5. Years and can buy it in fuel stations, also all clean diesel in latvian gas stationas has 5 procents of biodiesel so 5 procent of regular diesel frice is no more conected with worls fuel market

  • This would appear to be an avenue we should be exploring in the light of the BP events in the Gulf of Mexico and the climate changes in the world. The oil situation in the Middle East could also possible be alleviated

  • HAHAHAHA BS !

    completely petroleum independent ?

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHA !

where do you think methanol comes from ?

google transesterification to see what i mean

  • Pull your heads out of the oil stained sands. It is not about ONE solution but rather a move in the right direction. This is a step we CAN take without much modification to out current infrastructure which will produce less pollution, strengthen our economy and improve save us money, plus it does use waste products in a sustainable way. Or you could just go on buying Saudi oil and making the Bush family rich because they care so much about you and your well being.

  • @evilstig76 Bingo! Thank you.

  • quit it already with this buzzword, crude oil is totally sustainable for many generations and eons to come. the commercialization of it has lead to the outright lie of shortage which keeps the prices artificially high. as far as pollution the majority of the output from using it is pure water.

  • @circusboy90210 waht about blending bio-desil with hdyrogen.

  • @zeinbrug bidrogen diesel???

  • @circusboy90210 Did you fail to mention the cause of military need and wars?? Could this be the dependence to crude oil? There is no need to depend solely on oil for our transportation needs.

You are really confused on which "buzzword" needs to stop: OIL. The Standard Oil Co. (now Exon/Mobil) ended and took over the "Diesel" (the inventor) industry as we know it. It was originally invented for vegetable oil fuel to sustain farming equipment.

Rockefeller owned The Standard Oil Co.

  • Right... America alone uses over 385,000,000 barrels of oil a day. This is not a solution.

  • this is assuming that we could actually even approach using all the energy this planet has to offer in a million lifetimes.

  • I'm not sure of what you are trying to say here... The problem is that this is trying to put a bandage on something that will not remain long-term. The gas powered vehicle will have to be put down in the next decade. Hydrolysis will become the new petroleum and the biological molecules that they are using to burn in cars here will be used in production...

  • no bandage there is nothing wrong with the status quo that's why it's what it is.

  • What book? :)

  • Has nothing to do with it, this "system "will use up ALL and more of the available ground for planting foods, so we drive a car but have nothing to eat, great!! These "greenies "create more problems than they are worth.READ THE BOOK !!!!

  • did you even watch the video? its promoting use of WASTE vegetable oil. Look at Brazil where 3/4 of their fuel is biofuel and they have no food crisis. Or read about the Algae that can be grown in the desert and produce biofuels almost 100X more efficiently than corn.

  • Did you read the book,? if not don't comment, all answers are there. Not wasting my time on your sort.

  • Jatropha curcas seed can be use as raw material for biodiesel. We do that in China. Do you eat Jatropha curcas seed for food? :)

  • @denveropenmedia Well, at least he is trying to do something about the problem. You should give him credit for that.

  • @Tralgit and how much credibility will a "book" co-authored by S. Frederick Singer (the PhD in physics professor who claimed the link between smoking and cancer to be "junk science". He back pedaled out that one and climate change. Avery is not a scientist and his research is pre-1985.

Both opportunists trying to make a profit.
