@Kg277 A.E. is a homophone of ei, the Japanese word for stingray. The enemies in the game are flying stingrays. As for what it stood for, I think it was "Anti-Environment Encounter." I remember there was some kind of anti-pollution angle WRT destroying the flying stingrays.
actually this was the best part of the game. Thanks for posting. Anyone who wants the full 'AE' experience can download one of several Apple IIe emulators, get the rom for the game and bob's your uncle.
