  • They r Asain..thats y they r frekin good

  • High school? O.o

  • WHY ARE ASIANS GOOD AT EVERYTHING? about 10x better than any american school band I heard

  • @SomeGuyWithABucket The reason why theyre so much better that most american high schol bands is because theyve been brought up as a child playing the insturment that theyre playing today. thats why if youve seen some japanese middle school concert bands theyre soo much better than american high school bands

  • @drumlinekat it also proves that not all japanese people can play well lol...

  • lolololololololol deep purple

i wanna her them play thunder stuck by ac/dc 2 xD

  • They're horrible

  • damn why can't our jr. high band be as good as a high school band like this one eventhough we got a state championship and our town is so freakin small going against giant cities like dallas, san antonio and all that (i'm from port isabel, texas a very very tiny town) XD. Anyways you guys do so well.

  • @RenyeReyna Thank you for sharing your thoughts about this band. I'm sure that if the other members of your band share your interest and enthusiasm then you guys must really be something special. I suspect that your state championship was well deserved. Thanks again for watching and commenting! ~Kurt :-)

  • Wow, that's so f***ing awesome! They make it seem that being in band is fun!

  • @TenaciousJ728 Because it is fun

  • @TenaciousJ728 well...it is :)

    GO MY INSTRUMENT!!!!

theres only 2 trombone players in my middle school. out of four grades. pretty sad. and the 5th grader sucks.

  • I feel your pain. Only 2 players in the entire high school band for us. And the best one graduated. =[

  • Yhey fer trombones! :3

Btw.. You have 5th graders in middle school? o_o

  • a little too staccato and nice at some points but the band's balance and tuning is VERY nice

  • iron man lol?

  • haha I can imagine myself as the person across the street around 0:45 and seeing the band people one the other side playing that beast song!xD

    i would be like whoa!

  • Japanese are serious with what they do and such talented musicians. Props on excellent performance. Love "Smoke on the Water". Cheers to softypapa for posting the vid.

  • wad's the name of de second piece?

  • Hello namelessrp, The second piece is "La Bamba". -Kurt

  • hey softypapa, im just wonderin why u rite ur comments in formal letter. i mean its okay to do dat on business letters but textin and internet its all bad grammer cause no one really cares.

  • Hi 39533, Thank you for writing and for your question. This is just the way I prefer to communicate. I'm a very polite and formal person in real life and guess that this just flows through in my Internet communication. -Kurt :-)

  • @softypapa

Am I the only one here to become depressed when I realise that this video is 4 years old?

It makes me wonder about where these fellas have gone about their lives...

Some of them would be 二十歳 by now...it makes me kinda sad...kinda lonely...kinda depressed...it's hard to put a word on...

  • @softypapa

Anyhow! Massive deja vu here LOL. I watched this video AGES And AGES back way before I subscribed to you, letalone have a youtube account...

Guess what? You're video "Japan La Bamba" from September 2010 has the same tune...

    Made me smile...

It's been 4 years and it feels like I've been running around in circles. I'll go and enjoy my cocktail of melancholic bittersweet happiness now :D

    Take care,

    fan4nintendo

  • @fan4nintendo It's indeed hard to imagine how much time has passed since I first uploaded this video. I did not realize that the La Bamba video was using the same tune until you mentioned it. This song must be popular here. I like your image of a "cocktail of melancholic bittersweet happiness". Can you mix me one as well?? Have a great day, friend! ~Kurt :-)

  • nice vid - why are they performing in a parking lot?

  • Hello myargonuts,

Thanks for watching and commenting. This performance was part of the entertainment for a childrens traffic safety course being put on by our local police department. The course was held at a local driving school and this is the reason everyone appears to be standing on a road.

    Kurt :-)

  • thats radd in japan they listen to good music,..cool kidds

  • it sounded good and it looked like the band members were having fun

  • sweet

  • that was really amazing! I liked it lots. :]

  • that was so cute!!

  • I can play the first song on my gitar! :D

  • It's called Smoke on the Water. Good job.

  • Well it is a begginers song so who would not be able to play it

    LOL(-_-)

  • I am a begginer..

  • Playing the piece and playing it well are two completely different things. Playing together with good tone quality and note accuracy is hard to do with any piece.

  • wow, my band teacher would NEVER let us do that kind of stuff (clapping, making lots of moverment, etc) when we're performing. it looks so much fun and it's so creative

  • Oh that was lovely.Nicely done.I like the music alot. The movement is well done.5 out of 5 stars. : P

  • wow.. really COOL!! I am an American guitar player..but I think this shows a lot of imagination on the part of your band leader. How about a medley of great rock riffs-ie,Sunshine of yr Love,Purple Haze, etc.?

I bet you'd totally rock those as well.

  • I love the movement of the band. In my highschool band, the best we do is tapping our feet. The Jazz band is only a little better with some horn movement - but maybe I'm the only doing that. I'm surprised with the number of females playing low brass - I guess there are different social standards in Nihon. Do bands normally perform outside?

  • Thanks for watching and commenting. Your experiences with your own band provide an interesting contrast. Regarding outdoor performances, I can't think of another time when I have seen a band like this performing outside. This was a special traffic safety event for small children and I suspect that the organizers asked the school to provide some entertainment. Thanks again for commenting! -Kurt

  • This is crazy good i mean =P

im only in 8th grade tho

    and i play the trombone

only girl rockin the low brass in my grade =/

but i tutor a 6th grade girl that plays the trombone =)

nice gob girls on the trombones =))

  • Thanks for your comments. Good luck with your band. I hope that you guys have lots of fun! -Kurt

  • holly hell :O

  • o...k... i notice their clapping are not together..

  • Just plain awesome

  • woah, looks great! they deserve more handclaps than that :D

  • they deserved a way bigger clap i think that was pretty hard...

great btw i loved he trombone part and when the band sang

  • o god LMAO

  • I thought that was hilarious. xD

    In a good way. :3

  • i am chinese but i very like japan .haha

  • blahhhh

    this is REALLY good.

i wanna join THEIR band now lol.

  • They sound good most likely because in the orient you go to school if your smart or talented and only then.

That's why they say that in China and Japan that they have the best education and test results. It's not that all Asians are really smart it's that if you aren't smart you don't go to school.

  • wow you guys are really good. Our high school band really isn't that great.

  • our band played this about a year ago except we used a real guitar along with it.

    plyed by ME!!!!!!

  • thats good, we play the smoke on the water as well, except yours is more of jazz while ours is rock

  • Great! ♫♪♫♪♫♪♪♫♪♪♫

  • Holy shit...you guys are better than some pro bands...but it sounds a bit slow.

  • Japan is the music kingdom of Asia

  • Better than our school band.

  • odd... they actually sound asian. Fricken awesome though, almost the entire trombone section is female.

  • So what if they are females? I bet a lot of male trombonists here cant carry themselves as well as them.

  • ...k. I meant that the lot of females was a good thing...I don't know what you thought

  • they good but not what i expected from an all asian band

  • what did you expect?

  • Looks like loads of fun !

  • wow awsome! u guys hav good sound even on vid, cuz sometimes sound gets distorted. man if only our band sounded this good haha

  • 凄いです..

    でも最初のミュージックは

    俺が小学生でやった事ある

  • erm...no offence but dis IS a band rite?

  • oops.. sorry... just saw it..

  • what's the name of the song at the first part?

  • The first song is "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple. -Kurt :-)

  • sugoi*///////*

  • La bamba?? o____________O

    musica mexicana??!!

    wow enserio que son geniales

  • omg..I so wanna do all that crazy movement while playing my sax

  • quite frankly i expected the bones to sound bad but yeah..

  • Crazy Japanese, I always talk that is rock nation! Great! Keep Rockin' :)

  • So GREART!SUGOOOOIIIIII!

  • *CLAPZ!!!!* soooooo diff from watching sg bands

  • ahhhhhh that looks like so much fun! i wanna stand and twist and turn when i play flute/piccolo but noooooooo we never perform in the gym or outside. it's always in the frigging auditorium. *incoherent grumbles*

  • GO TUBAS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • so cool!

  • Hey i can play guitar for your band!! ^^

  • Wow, what a great choise of song and well performed! I think people would like symphonys a lot more if they were this way.

  • Why are they outside?

  • The reason that they are playing outdoors is that the band was providing a sort of half time show for a traffic safely event which our city put on for the local kids. Thanks for viewing and commenting on the video!

  • reaaaally amazingly good for a normal high school band.. haha.. i go to a high school music academy so its a lil different.

  • Bet you haven't heard the best of Japan high schools yet.

  • nope i havent! i'm sure they're really awesome. my boarding school (that actually by now i've graduated from and i'm in a music conservatory now) is really the best high school for music in the US.. there were a lot of korean and chinese people there but not as many japanese. -shrug

  • Hahas. Their gold awardiee high schools are better than some / or even many of the professional bands around.

  • that kind of reminds me of the national venezuelan youth orchestra.. (although the top orchestra in that organization is actually 18-30 year olds) its better than many professional orchestras .. they came to my music conservatory and i got to play with some of them.. completely mind-blowing musicianship

  • waaaa sugoiii!

  • wow!!!they're good~!!

  • omg awesome!!! trombones rock.

  • Wow, fantastic! Ya gotta love a high school band! I like how enthusiastic they appear. That's nice.

  • smoke on the water!! =D

  • do you think an english person could join a japanese school?

  • If by school you mean a public school such as an elementary or high school then I suspect that anyone could join as long as they resided in the school district. Language would certainly be a challenge if the person had no previous experience with Japanese. Thanks for watching this video! -Kurt (softypapa)

  • That's so awesome! Thanks for sharing. Definitely owned my high school band.

  • those are some good trombone players!

  • SEXY!

  • I just notice who he was. He's an american. Workin' in Japan I think. ^^ Anyways I don't want to sound dumb, but I just love asking question! Sorry I attend to get carry away. Hehehehe... ^_^;

  • Hi SiegeFox28, Thank you for leaving your comments. Yes, I am an American living in the lovely seaside city of Shizuoka Japan. I really appreciate your taking the time to view my video. Thanks again! :-)

  • Wait just a minute. Are you from Japan? That's so kewl. And you can type english words? Hey, nice. Hi hi hi!

  • Yeah you should try it some time.

    *cough*

    kewl -> cool*

  • amazing!

  • Huh, the strings are with the rest of the band? In my school, the strings are in a separate class called orchestra.

  • nice

  • how akward

  • What a bunch a lively kids. Highly amusing and indeed very groovey music!

  • Great music! I wonder how many people already knew those songs or if they are already fimilar with them?
