  • Lol love the ryugyong hotel in the back.

Pyongyang - no lights, almost no electricity, no wifi, 1 tv channel, 1 radio station, no leaving, no immigration, no food, no fun, 1 type of cell phone.

Seoul, Tokyo, Most other countries, any big city here in America - Big skyscrapers, all lights, electricity and uncensored wifi everywhere, hundreds of TV channels, lots of radio stations, leave whenever you want, opening up to immigration, tons of food, fun everywhere, tons of cell phones, carriers...

  • ( comentary removed by north korean govern )

  • Seoul S Korea and Tokyo Japan too way more beautiful . Cause N Korea has a evil dictator who starves his people to death by making them pay taxes to him to by his palace and nukes. S Korea and Japan have way better leaders. Poor N Korean citizens.

  • looks like a fucking shitjole

  • What a bloody depressive city! My luck being born in UK

  • No dancing allowed

  • north korea looks so dead omg

  • This country is so pathetic they cant even produce electric XD

  • I see lights in the houses though.

Why is it a necessity to waste a whole bunch of electricity on billboards and so on? Capitalist countries have always been the masters of wasting about anything. Although I don't live there and can't judge both countries, South-Korea is subsidised by the US...

  • at least there efficient when it comes to light use

  • looks like a black out.

  • watch?v=_M-Emz6OWUM&feature=related

  • U cant find n korea on the map

  • the dead city of kim jong il ,

  • i think its good. no lights at night...so serene, so natural. a far cry from all those so called metro cities where they light up every inch of the place.

  • @debasisb2002 So many people in prisons , living in fear , dying from starvation , how natural!

  • Wow! Three lights! Hail Great Leader!

  • Comment removed

  • @HelenaXVI hahaha I noticed that too! You can tell based on the position of that other hotel, the Ryugyong

  • Comment removed

  • @HelenaXVI oh no certainly not. i've just researched it a lot and looked at it a lot on google earth hahaha...but also, almost anybody who would actually want to film anything from pyongyang is probably a foreigner, therefore probably on one of the tours...and everybody on the tours stays at the yanggakdo as i understand it

  • Comment removed

  • @HelenaXVI yeah I watched the Vice Guide to North Korea in which they describe how they flew in from Shenyang...I didn't imagine they'd be inhuman either, only that their leader is a nut. But it's not as if they elected him or something; I feel sorry for most of them more than anything else. I assume you've been?

  • Looks like Las Vegas - except better

  • earth hour!

  • then how do they see all the shit around them.?

  • @sattu27 They have a curfew

  • @anikinippon wait..!! did you say they are not allowed to come out at night.??

  • @sattu27 Average citizens aren't, I think it was like 7 or 8, it's bad there, unless it's a state function. If you are military, I'm sure you could but ya, lights out pretty much, what else are you gonna do in North Korea other than give thanks to the leader and work for him?

  • @sattu27 They are allowed at night, you can see many people in parks during night or whever.

  • @vilnius194 Many people in parks. People dont listen to vilnius. He's the biggest COMMUNIST douchebag ever. Hates everything to do with america and NATO. Yeah thats right vilnius im trollin' teh fux outta you now. <3

  • The difference between both Koreas is abysmal.

  • Only Chuck Norris can cross the Koreas borders.

  • nothing to worry about people in north korea just go to bed early. LOL JK everyone in their government are assholes!

  • @brydonjesse I think you are an asshole by saying North Korea is a small island. I was hardly understand on what you are trying to say. My message to you is "fuck Kim Jung Il son of the bitch, fuck DPRK & finally fuck you !

  • wtf theres fire???

  • ok so the north is a very small island with nukes......i think they are underground in bunkers(nuke) they will nuke the usa and hide there ppl underground then after america attacks retaliates. china will say waite conventional war guys , as russia comes up from behind wonderful world we live in. canada will be there n we get the fat kids(fuk capatalism)

  • @brydonjesse North korea is not island.

  • @MrSuurijohtaja i was tierd the island in question was the artillery island of south korea im sorry. ps i h8 geography :) n it will all change soon enuff

  • @brydonjesse Aaaah now i understand :)

  • there is no life at all

  • it is dark and depressing as a motherfucker over there.

  • bo chujom prądu brak

  • Comment removed

  • One day we will be living like them.....CAPITALISM will not survive and our consumption will stop soon. North Korea is future reflection of GLOBAL WORLD.........only few clever will understand my words the rest 90% will adjust.

  • @maxMAXmaxs COMMUNISM FTW

  • @maxMAXmaxs the fall of capitalism will bring the rise of socialism

  • Hey, there are MUCH MUCH MUCH worse countries out there, going through civil war, small 10 year olds killing families with ak-47's and what not. Warlord's picket fences toped with human skulls..... there are much worse countries out there, but the fact that DPRK is communist, we focus all this attention on it, that is the soul reason, because of the red start they represent.... nothing else

  • LOL NOW LOOK AT A VID OF DOWNTOWN SEOUL AT NIGHT AJJAJAJJAJAJ

  • damn that city would be beautiful if it wasn't ran by a commie prick

  • DON"T EVER TOUR!

  • what the fuck!!!! so dark....

no party animals here i bet.....

  • This why I'm proud of what we did in the Korean War, we stopped South Korea from being turned into this. South Korea is flourishing right now, it's economy is massive, because it is a very successful democratic nation, while North Korea is a communist hell hole. I am humbled by the sacrifices made in the Korean ear, may their sacrifices not be forgotten.

  • Anybody heard about sanctions? Embargo? , Threats that make the need of spending the 25% of the state's wealth in Weapons to defend the motherland inescapable? Anybody with brain in here??

  • @TermaOsEdo 25%? LOL! Try 50-75% Of there money on the military!

  • they dont have electricity you dumbfucks, and whos fault is that? yeah, out fault for totaly boycoting them, ofciourse it would turn out to be such a horrible place it is when you isolate the country and kinda force the regime to rely on violence and force to maintain some form of stability among its populance.

  • wow there are no lights in north korea.

  • north korea is a dictatorship with no human rights,in north korea there is somthing like 12 concentration cammps that contain 200 thousand of political prisioners,

north korea is a good exemple for not successful comunistic economy

this country is primitive and cruel like the period of stalinizem in soviet union

when milions of people where killed in camps

  • @88Shishka no crap

  • @88Shishka political prisoners like george bush, obama, corrupt politicians then yeah it makes sense.

and yes they kill millions of spies, rapists, sex offenders, prostitutes for societal welfare.

your not very good spreading anti-north korean propaganda.

  • @88Shishka damn fascist

  • a beautiful cosmopolitan city with very impressive bright structures and no traffic backlogs, the great leader on the radio and TV all day every day, plenty of food to go around, a workers’ paradise.

I don't know you guys, but I think I am moving there, in fact I think I am going to get there swimming if I have to, Pyongyang hereeee I comeeeee!!!!

  • its like watching a parody if you know what i mean.

  • i'd rather live in a massive pile of shit than NK.. oh wait ....

  • Our Great Leader Kim Jong Ill has launched an ambitious plan to promote environmental sustainability among workers, peasants, soldiers and bureaucrats.

  • Is this Bourbon Street New Orleans???

  • How did you sneak in something to record this?

  • @platinum243125 he must have got it from a care drop....LOL MW2

  • I take it light pollution isn't a problem in North Korea

  • North Korea is power savers unlike he pigs in America which have so much energy they could power the world 6 times

  • @SMGJohn They're not power savers. Since they have no trade system in place, they are completely dependent on themselves. This means fuel shortages occur often, which results in many power outages. Also, Pyongyang isn't a very big city. And I doubt Korea gives a damn about the environment. Furthermore, yes, Americans do, in fact, need electricity. This does not make them bad people.

  • @rct3manofjapan Every Capitalists are bad people and that's a fact. The day we stop being greedy and care about the environment and stop fitting nature to us and try fit ourself to nature that's the day we become Socialists but of cores that wont happen until humans have evolved brain cells enough to understand such

  • @SMGJohn Socialism hasn't brought the world any good.

  • @helpdonate1 What Socialism!?

  • @SMGJohn shut up ignorant bitch

  • @420kawy Go and chew on your money!!

  • factories

  • ..so it must be true...right?

  • Pyongyang is totally different to a conventional city design.. its landscape is too monumental for the population.

AND.. Some buildings are not occupied..

If there are 10 buildings in a block.. only

5 are occupied.. the other 5 is said to be

    "For their homeless Southern brothers"

    The factories also close early

There are no clubs or discos..

shops are inside the buildings. thats why you cant see their lights outside

There are no street lights on

since they are having trouble with energy

  • Pyongyang is a purely residential city.. Commercial areas are Government owned.. Supermarkets are inside buildings.. there are no advertisements. On non Summer Months. North Korea turns off Electricity at 12am so save Energy And it is dark.. because the city land is too large for the population. There must be atleast 5 million people inside Pyongyang to not make it look like a ghost town it only has 3 million and only 30% of them owns vehicles
  • I'm sure once you get past the whole everything about your life is watch and monitored, i'm sure it's a nice city to live in.

  • I think it looks interesting, dark and haunting, I like mood of it.

  • Sounds like fun there :/

  • Nobody's saying that North Koreans aren't humans. They were not talking about the people.

  • I heard Korean womens "things" go east and west!

  • Try to down load North Korea uncovered. It's an overlay for Google earth. A whole new world will be opened.

  • im interested..what North Korea google eartH?

  • Do you know *ANYONE* who has lived in North Korea? Probably not. Only a tiny fraction of the populace ever leaves for any length of time. Even visiting NK briefly is nigh-impossible because of their rigid travel restrictions. But I guess I'm not being fair; I'm sure every humanitarian aid group. human-rights monitor, and free press outlet-- not to mention the handful of North Koreans who risked death to defect and made it-- are all lying. North Korea = Happy Land, and everyone else = hatin'..

  • Great leader Kim Jon Ill use great power to protect the people of Korea

  • at least they can see the stars ! LOL

  • Pardon - I meant to say that we can acknowledge that our government & leaders AREN'T perfect.

  • What a stupid government. i really doubt the people who reply to this crappy government defending it are really from north korea. There is limited if not non-existant use of internet. Where would they be replying from? Where would they use internet? not in North Korea.

  • captainjosue:

The N. Korean government probably hired bored " mercenary " hackers - for - hire from Russia or Eastern Europe who wanted a butt - load of money in return for their services.

    N. Korea has limited access to the Internet, & it probably helps to be a good friend of ol' Kimmy - J.

  • Yeah. Either or, what a pathetic government and it's too bad for the people who have little to any choice as to their destiny in life.

  • The Kim Dynasty would've made a great subject for Sigmund Freud. Classic control freaks.

Makes Cuba look downright cozy by comparison - except for the grinding poverty there as well in N. Korea.

Fugitives from the North often go to Thailand or Indonesia instead of staying in S. Korea once they get there. Wonder why ?

  • Sure, that's why you're people live in constant fear which I don't blame you so therefore your stupid government blasts anti-west propaganda threatening us with nuclear weapons. There are a lot of people in North Korea who hate America and the west. i see something very wrong with that. Your government is starving and killing your people. Again, i see something very wrong with that. You're people cannot leave their country (which i don't blame them) which i see something wrong wtih that.

  • It's a black hole with monuments, nice buildings & statues dedicated to tyrants.

The rest of the country - Just from what I've read - is a giant slum where the people are barely literate & don't know JACK about the rest of the world except for approved news programs, etc.

  • North Korea is one of the most literate countries in the world, with an average literacy rate of 99%.

  • geilman:

Okay, but what good is literacy if you get thrown in a deep, dark pit somewhere ( or worse ) for expressing your opinion ? North Korea makes Cuba look like a permissive, liberal society.

  • The difference between N. Korea & America ( & other free societies ) is that we can express that our government is perfect, our leaders aren't perfect, & we don't get LOCKED UP, or tortured, or shot for speaking our minds.

If I wanted to E - mail Obama or Biden & call him an f***ing moron, I could do it, without worrying about a visit in the dark from the FBI, CIA, or Secret Service involving a taser & blunt object followed by incarceration.

  • Other than NK's nuclear capabilities, we are more genuinely concerned about human rights in North Korea. Have you heard of the labor camps that refugees are sent to? Or the high execution rate? Why aren't North Koreans allowed to watch South Korean movies or buy American goods? Why is some music banned?

  • from what I've read from all accounts from the people who've visited pyongyang, it's actually quite a nice city...just incredibly boring.

  • Its craptacular

  • oh yes, we must be brain washed! alright we will leave you guys alone so yalls can bow to your supreme god Kim Jong-il who must have invented everything and is the most intelligent because he was brought from the heavens...

  • I possibly spoke a little out of turn. How can you be in North Korea and have internet access? I firmly believe that the vasy majority of the North Korean people are hard working peace loving people. It is your government that is the problem. Most of the North Korean people do not have enough food. What a shame.

  • read his/her comment again and you'll see why he/she has internet access ;)

  • theres nothing wrong with pyongyang, your safer there than tijuana

  • Haha... they are only lighting up the statues and monuments to their leaders.. and the rest of their city is black.

  • at least they are eco friendly

  • The documentary, Welcome to North Korea is probably one of the most disturbing and creepiest things i've seen. The city is an illusion to the poverty and the sadness that lies within the country. The city is dead with its people brainwashed.

  • No lights at night. Not a surprise for such an impoverished hateful country.

  • I don't know if its "by far" the worst. There are countries in Africa/South America with terrible gang and civil wars. Places with little or no government control. Even bigger nations with far more wealth and industry like Mexico, China, and Brazil have extreme poverty and extreme crime and violence expecially in Mexico.

  • I have been there, and it's definitely not "the worst" at all. I'd rather be a resident of Pyongyang than a member of a similar social class in many countries, like, I don't know, maybe Sudan, Sierra Leone, Haiti..

  • that is damn creepy, and sad. I guess the tourist brochure can boast: "the least amount of light pollution of any major urban center in the world"

  • If this is the capital...

  • 1:00 where's the fire?

  • ooooo....the city is very dark, only the Juche Tower is bright, why?

  • the very same reason you can find kin jong il's photos even in the underground trains...

  • now now, they are just minimising their 'carbon footprint' lol

  • I think Al Gore should move there.

  • Damn. I live in a city with a population of 200.000 and there is thousand times more light then in Pyongyang. I won't even start on traffic congestion. This is simply eerie. Electricity shortage at it's worst. It's a shame these people aren't allowed to know any better. They must truly think Pyongyang is a paradise city. Sad...

  • Compared to the rest of the country it is a paradise city.

  • Well at least it's a city that gets its sleep.

  • my cell phone makes more light than that

  • Good for the environment, hehe!

  • they blame that on president bush....

  • I can create more light in my house than that place, lol.

  • Communism at its finest...

  • Capitalism at its finest means DEATH

  • saving electricity or....

  • It looks exactly like the shithole that you'd imagine it to be..

  • I love reading all this false propaganda you guys spit out about DPR Korea if they were all starving how come they have a POSITIVE population increase.

  • Sorry i'm not saying you're wrong but-

    Faked stats?

  • No this is wrong considering its not from DPR Korea but from world organization. CIA I believe or some other group that does country statistics

  • You're either retarded, or just trying to attention. Please move to North Korea and shut up.

  • well same thing for africa. why is the population of african continent increasing when so many countries in it has horrible living conditions and famine?

  • Hey Zingo, this IS WITH LIGHTS ON!

  • city of the dead .....

  • Kim Jong Il has so much ill-gotten wealth. He could easily pay for a new electric power plant out of his own pocket!

  • The North Koreans are currently have a extreme shortage of electricity. Rather share it's merger electricity with civilians they rather light up stupid progranda propaganda memorial sites such as the Juche flame tower.

  • Dark city.

  • Look, it's a Killer's album cover at 0:10!

  • I'll say this - it looks a lot better in the dark

  • thats not true.. thats the same.. if you liberate you attack..

  • You are seriously dumb as fuck.

  • they can't coz dprk have nuclear bombs

  • Yeah, sure. North Korea has (last I heard) about a half-dozen nuclear warheads, and lack any means of delivering them further offshore than mainland Japan if at all; the last missile they test-launched broke up 45 seconds after leaving the launchpad.. The US has a sprawling nuclear arsenal, including a fleet of ICBMs that can each carry a MIRV payload amounting to at least, if not more, NK's entire nuclear stockpile and deliver them to any spot on Earth. So we best niot fuck with North Korea

  • You must really be stupid to think that a statement like that could be at all funny, it just marks you out as a reason why the USA is considered a intellectual desert.

And it could be alleged that it points you out as the product of incest.

  • well idk robin i wouldnt mind fucking u up the ass

  • Well I woulden't want to meet any one who abuse the English language as bad as you.

You should hook up with vidgameboy it seem like he would really like to get to know you, being that you both obsess about man on man action.

  • Of course, we wouldn't want the 'Dear Leader' to be cranky when he wakes up in the morning now, would we?

  • i dont get it

  • Sorry I'd like to appologise to the residents of Pyongyang for being so rude.

  • Theres more life in a tramps vest.

  • it is dark.

it seems to be the japanese country.

  • Its so dark there...

  • i hear horns honking like lots of traffic but if you google earth youll see the streets are nearly deserted during the day

  • umm..thats because people are at work...sigh...

  • actually they also use live people usually prisoners and inmates in jail or in the consentration camps, but they have to have a good reason why.

  • Tresidentevil (2 weeks ago) marked as spam

Oh yeah, North Korea are evil becuase they treat their people sooooooooooo badly, the fact the americans keep this country poor on prupose has NOTHING to do with it...really. • Oh yeah, North Korea are evil becuase they treat their people sooooooooooo badly, the fact the americans keep this country poor on prupose has NOTHING to do with it...really. And of course America doesn't murder people, they are saints.
