This was a great band. Then Bloomfield left, and the band slowly turned into being all about Buddy. (Talented as he was). His ego knew no bounds. But for one great album...
and when I was cutting school in the suburbs of Chicago to go see bands like this in the mid 60's my parents thought I wasnt getting a good education.....
The first notes brought out the goosebumps on my arms.
What a great band. Composition, expression, virtuosity.
Not all the memories of 1967 were good, but it was a formative year that changed the course of American and World history, and the Elecrric Flag is a piece of history that represents the age and all that was going on. Their music belongs in the Smithsonian. Enjoy. It's outstanding.
Yes, this is so great - it takes me back to the Filmore - Winderland... etc...... what a time of change.... thanks for posting all of these... .especially the live versions!!!
The Electric Flag wee GREAT! The were billed as an American Band. They had a huge American Flag blowing behind them & Buddy miles had a suit made to look like the red, White, & Blue.
Love this music.....thanks for posting it
