Hi Winter! I still get out the trombone from time to time. I would have been there last year if not for the fact that our twin daughters were born just two weeks prior. Trombone is great! Hope your step-son likes it. My trick was to always play with good posture (sitting up straight, instrument at 90 degree angle to ground). Thisxallows you to make full use of your lungs and make the instrument sing!
oh. Jason! THE MR. TROMBONE! LOL!...my stepson is playing trombone, and I thought of you! lol. isn't it sad how much smaller the band is now1?...winter michels
@BBCChitwood12 ikr? my aunt thinks it's a down right shame that no one wants to be in band anymore. heck, my mother and 2 aunts were in our band years ago and they even think it's a shame how small it's become! and shamelessly, i agree with them!
beautiful, i wish my school was larger and there wasn't so much drama. When I was a freshman we had 70+ marching and the next year it was 40. The director quit when freshman year and a inexperienced youth took place. Moral was brought to an all time low and most didn't care. I was lead snare for 2 yrs. The drill was crazy. The line had more marching and farther distances in less counts then most of this band. The music wasn't easy. We ended up winning the indoor line circuit
For context, this footage was shot in October, 1998 (over 10 years ago!) in Ontario, Ohio. At that point in time, about 45% of the entire student body participated in the Marching Band.
This was my favorite show, because I was the trombone soloist in the last song.
@yellowcard1494 thank goodness that the show we did didn't end up like LAST year... and Cody did do a nice job on the solo, I have to admit that. as a matter of fact all of the soloist did a good job
Who is this? I go to ontario middle school and i'm in 8th grade now but I came from mansfield so that's why my username says tyger football instead of warrior football
I am from Ontario, Ohio!! I grew up, went to Ontario Senior High!! I LOVE the band, and I LOVE the Ontario Warriors!! GOOO, WARRIORS!! Woo-HOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!
Now live in Texas; how I miss Ohio (and the Warriors!)!!!! GREAT vid, great memories!!!! :D

I was in the band in the early part of the decade, and watched the numbers decline each year. 180ish freshman year to 90ish senior year. Sad indeed

This brings back memories. Sad to hear that the band has only a mere 80 members now. I graduatuated 1995 and always remember the band being HUGE!

@belle52877 acually, we have around 100 players, a few above that, but still you're right, it is sad.

I love our marching band,
It's so sad to see that our band was THAT BIG! and now it's just around 80 people, like someone else said....Such a shame.

The band had about 200 kids back then, now it's about 80. I wish we could do something to get the kids excited for band again.
