Love Corinne Bailey Rae but she totally stole the lyric and melody " I want it, I want it" from this fantastic funk gem for her 'closer' track. If I were Jamiroquai I'd sue, If she hasn't credited him!

@YassineSaidi Yes, it's true about When You Gonna Learn directly lifting musical arrangements from Los Conquistadores Chocolate. I know there’s other Jamiroquai tracks that have also lifted arrangements from other artists. Not everyone knows this, and think it’s all original. I love Jamiroquai, but I’m wise to this fact. Jay’s admitted being influenced by certain artists (which is fine), but I hope he credited those artists where he used their work, rather than just being influenced by them.
@immediately3000 ...real music junkies know this..but if you ever read his credits he does give mad respect to whomever he has sampled.. he pays homage
@afrophonic Yeah, you're right. I didn't know Corinne Bailey. He sounds great. She has taken lyrics from Jamiroquai. Nevertheless, I think it's good for Jamiroquai to be imitated or versioned. They could be feel proud. And she did a good work and all!!
@afrophonic Yeah, it's true. Thank u for make me know 'bout her. Nevertheless she has done a very good work. Jamiroquai should be feel proud because of someone like Corinne has taken a bit of they for her song.
@MGTGR123 Lol yes indeed, but I'm kind of tongue in cheek about it, as really Jay Kay is one of the biggest magpies of them all! Since the seventies I've been buying soul and jazz music in abundance and believe me, there's been many a Patrice Rushen, Roy Ayers, Stevie and Mizell Brothers riff that have turned up on his albums too! Haha

Coolest story ever: I was a young, shy, chubby kid studying for my college classes in the library of another local college. They had a bettter facility & better looking girls. I was listening to THIS VERY SONG on my Discman & it just caught me. It got me into quite a mood; zoned in, confident, cool & a bit horny. There was this total stranger & way outta my league but I mouthed this song to her from across the library. Ballsy move & she dug it. We exchanged numbers! JAMIROQUAI!
you know, i also prefer Butterfly, but Supersonic is genius not because of the melody but because of the rythm(which is crazy and unique). I really appreciate that JK has chosen Supersonic, because it was risky as a radio hit (it's a too strange song for the radio listener who only listen to this s*** formatted music)

Jamiroquai is a band, not a person. When people talk about Jamiroquai, the band, like it's just Jay Kay, it negates all of the musical beauty that these highly skilled musicians are making. He wouldn't sound nearly as good as a solo act, singing a capela, so please don't forget about the musicians!
The transition at 1:58 (little butterfly come back... to meeeeeeeeee) is so impressive and unpredictable...and the stirngs just after. Just love this song.
best synthbass ever. EVER! sounds like they layered it with 2 or 3 sounds..and i love that flute sample with the little echo..and the little percussion thing by sola.. one of their best tracks, period.
for some reason the song 'perfect sky' by reel people always draws a connection to this song in my mind..hmm
yassine, i don't think that's the case. nick fyffe can easily play this bass-line, and did in several live performances. even i can do it and i'm nowhere near a professional, it's pretty easy. it just suits the song to use that synth bass..a lot of synkronized was synth bass, like canned heat and planet home.
This song is too beautiful for words. Therefore I shall say no more.

@afrophonic
And if I were Johnny Hammond I'd sue Jay Kay for taking my chord progression of "Los Conquistadores Chocolate" for "When You Gonna Learn?" =p !
Jay Kay himself told in EOPE credit that he was very very very very inspirated by this track.
