  • ashoka and akbar.... the greatest kings india ever saw

  • @garizable And Never will be Again...

It usually happens in real republics...

It is good we have them in digital Pictures though...

  • Omg, she looks a beautiful rajputani princess!

  • They definitely picked the right actor/actress to play the part, Hrithik makes a fantastic Akbar and Ash makes a perfect Jodhaa. :D Superb film :D

  • hmmmm i luv ths song

  • I love how she looks in this! It's when she's in more subdued stage makeup that we really see how naturally beautiful she is!

  • love this movie!!!!.they look very good together.

  • This is retarded. He shouldn't want to change her religion in the first place. The notion of FORCING someone to convert to your religion, from my perspective, is extremely evil and personally damaging.

  • @happybuddha33 YEs, it is evil to Forcing someone to convert, we also not allowed to force anyone, its individual choice. Hope u dont misunderstood my religion

  • @happybuddha33 who knows if he personally wanted her to convert? it is clear he had pressure from his kingdom. Also, while we are talking about 'forcing' people to convert, Islam does not support forced conversion, it is clearly said "there is NO compulsion in religion" ..

  • @SH7861WeezyBabyy Um...just because the Qu'ran says something, doesn't mean Muslim emperors follow it. Clearly, one of the key tenants as to why the story of Jodha and Akbaar is even popular is the fact that he REQUESTED her marriage and she REQUESTED to retain her religion and he CONSENTED. We know that this happened in Indian history with Muslim rulers, but not often. It's also in the Qu'ran that Muslim men are only to marry Muslim women or women of the book.

  • @happybuddha33 What the hell? I only responded to your phrase where you said "the notion of forcing someone to convert to your religion from my perspevtive is extremely evil" etc ..I only provided you with Islam's perspective on FORCED CONVERSION, thats all. Way to overreact bud.

  • @SH7861WeezyBabyy And I'm just telling you that not matter what you say Islam's perspective is, in this respect (conversion-marriage) Muslims don't tend to abide by it. Indian history/society is living proof of that. I didn't overreact. I just used all-caps for some words because you can't use italics on YouTube. The ALL CAPS here denote stress, not volume. Sorry if it came off that way. And I'm sorry, I still think the belief that "My God is the 'only' God" is just as deplorable.

  • @happybuddha33 So now we are generalizing about Islam/Muslims? Thats freaking stupid yet entirely expected. You say you arent calling Islam evil yet you do state that you think the belief about God being the only God is deplorable? You might want to re think your stance on this than.

  • @happybuddha33 I dont know if you understand the concept of 'God" for Muslims. Islam being a branch of Christianity and Judaism believes in the SAME God as they do.The statement "there is no God but God" solidified the monotheistic approach in a polytheist society back when the Prophet was just beginning. The history behind this statement is extensive and not as horrid as you are making it out to be, unfortunately, all of it cannot be explained in the comment section.

  • @happybuddha33 When studying the concept of 'God' in Islam and its deplorable belief of "my God is the only God' (which I'm sure you have misunderstood and possibly even misquoted), it is also important to understand the complex theological doctrine known as "Tawhid". Forgive me for saying this but I do believe that religion and its beliefs cannot be expertly learned in a short period of time, especially if we're going to rely on what happened in the sub continent during the Mughal era.

  • @SH7861WeezyBabyy i.e.- request, behovement, implication, coercion, force or whatever you want to call it. "Convert to my religion or we can't get married" is among the stupidest statements, I believe, one can say to someone they're in love with.

  • @happybuddha33 You can blame Islam I'm not stoppng you, but it gets tiresome after a number of years, hearing people say the same crap over and over again. I find that blaming a religion for something that was laid out over a thousand years ago completely stupid and useless. Some Muslims put religion over love, and some dont. I know many Muslims who are married to non Muslims, so breathe easy in knowing that some Muslims didnt throw away love just for the 'sake of religion'

  • @happybuddha33 Don't get me wrong. I'm not calling Islam "evil" or "bad". I'm just saying, in my opinion, the notion of literally changing your belief system/world view for the sake of love is to forsake your own self, period. No matter who you are or what religion you may or may not belong to.

  • Love the scene when she shows him the pooja thali! awww

  • Im a Muslim, and as far as i know, before a muslim maried to non-muslim, she or he must be a muslim first, if not, the marriage is considered not legal in Islam and the couple is not be considered as a husband and wife, sory my english bad : )

  • @freakabd1291

from your comments I could just tell that you are Malaysian muslim, Am I right? Have you seen the movie ?this movie is about history and about bridging the differences among people, it is not about whether or not their marriage is legitimate or not according Islam. What do you actually intent to to convey from your comments?

  • @mscoco7504 No, i dont have any other intention, It's good though for bridging the differences.

  • @freakabd1291

  • @freakabd1291 Islam is a beautiful religion, also the more important and equally beautiful is sincere and beautiful intention of the human hearts, not just the law aspect of the religion, FYI Princess Joda according to history did became a muslim but not because she was force but because of the Kindness of Muhamad Akhbar has opened her heart. What is the motif of your comments? Really???

  • @mscoco7504 No, i dont have any motif or anything, just that is the way it is, sorry if my comment is offensive to you...but nice story though

  • @freakabd1291 Yaar .... kabhi dil bhi dekh liya kar..sufi yehi kehte kehte chale gaye.. ki khuda dilon me rehta hai aur dil ko kabhi nahi dukhana chahiye...

  • @imali2k who said ,India is still GOLD CLADDED..thats why Obama is visiting india...

  • wow she was SO pretty!!

  • Can't imagine this movie without Aish & Hrithik and this song I have no words for this song it's simply beautiful like Lord Krishna.

  • thank u Mr Ashutosh Gowariker for such a wonderful project...

  • 3:39 till end .... mind blowing !!!

  • I LOVE THIS SCENE!!! Also the scene wher she say WIFES DONT SAY HUSBANDS NAME ^^

  • Glorious! I cannot think of a better actor for this role.

  • Akbar the king of what is now India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, some part of Iran.

Such a great power only one can imagine, Yet he was polite and did not engage in war.

    Mashallah

  • he did not take control of sylhet region of bangladesh..just thought id add that

  • i appreciate the male in the video for respecting and participating in the girl's cultural beliefs...!! Something worth learning.....

  • Thanks Vipan Bhai, for sending me this wonderful voice. The voice is meoldious has pathoes, expression and extreme sweetness. Such voices do not need the help of Huge orchestration. Thanks to mjbmailbox, for up load. Khalid Asghar, Former Statiopn Director, Radio Pakistan, Lahore & Music Analyst.

  • i just love hrithik's acting :)

  • they make a good couple!

  • Jai Krishna! This is probably my favorite song out of this awesome movie. Such a sweet melody, and these gripping moments where they look at each other...Her dedication to Krishna is so nice.

  • 1:42 this is the time in the movie they actually see each other face to face without any pardha. The emotions between the both and the cross culture sentiments were shown great at thar moment. Good movie

  • That was a beautiful song ^_^ !!!

  • in your discriptio on the song, he is an emperor of the mughal empire

  • i love this song. hrithik is hot ,cute and sooooooo damn SEXY. and Aishwarya rai is a good actress. she is so beautiful.

  • Tolerance and cross cultural understanding, wonderfull :}}

  • I watched this in an arabic channel but it was translated in arabic and I can't believe that i sat for almost 4 hours straight and I watched it all, that was how gripping and interesting it was...i LOVED it!

  • i just love this song....though i have no idea wt it means!!!

  • such a good melody and lyrics how to don't like indian music !!!

  • amazing not only romantic but historical cultural movie . great actors with undeniable talent and amazing performance. i love the message of this movie about religious and cultural tolerance. people should learn something from this movie how to accept and respect the other with his differences cos if we were all the same the world would be so annoying :) the difference is the essence, the wealth and the beauty of our world and life we should celebrate it and encourage it and protect it.

  • i looooove this song, its so beautiful....

  • In Islam and by the great Khaleefa Ali Ibn Abee Talib who said --- a man is either your brother in relegion or your equal in creation.

  • the most beautiful song ever!! slow and heavy with meaning, love and devotion

  • i wanna see all or most of her indian movies, but i don't know were to get them or find them. does anyone here know???

  • torrent!

  • We need such movies more. it brings peace and mutual respect among us. I feel only Indian muslims can bring a change to the stereotype against Muslims going around the world. We are the only one who are not affected by this stereotype so far. So come on my Muslim friends of India, I will be with you. As a first step, we together can celebrate festivals of both of us...this will surely bring mutual respect. We should never allow the Winston Churchill's comment about south asia to a reality.

  • I love this song and I am not a Muslim. I have good Muslim, christian and sikh friends. don't bring religion here. by religion no one is superior or inferior to anyone.

  • Yes. Thanks...That's precisely why I added this info. To show tolerance....cuz of the allusion to Krishna.

  • yes, i told my best friend that i had thought about being Muslim, i asked him if he would think bad of me after hearing him say that all Muslims are bad. He said yes, I have remained very mad about this, him thinking less of me over a religion is horrid.

  • he likes her he likes her heee friking liiikes heer! c'mon dude! surrender to loooove love love love lol

  • @SugarLustyKiss 3.3 hours of film : Nice Music, Nice Visuals, Interesting to Very Nice Love Story Telling Relatively Boring but necessary Battles with no real Action but the real question is...

    Why there is no Sex?

    Duh...

Romeo and Juliet in Hindi Elite Version...

    :)

  • @jbingfaII 1. Because historically his metamorphosis was dependant on not only how Jodha influenced him, but also how he sees war and its destruction on personal lives rather than how he wins them.

    2. Because not all love stories have to show sex in them.

    3. This is NOTHING like Romeo and Juliet.

  • @rheaisgreat 1. Pretty Women always influence Men

    2. Men are always influenced by pretty women

Proof for the above : It took him 2.5 hours to get a half kiss from her lips and he is the king...

Can you imagine a Indian mortal with the same problem these days?

This is probably how they make Soap Series in India...

  • @jbingfaII 1. That may be the common case, sure. But it is a historical fact that Jodhas was pretty. So be it.

    2. And your point being?

How is getting a kiss anything to do with your stature? Strange are the ways you think about love and relationships.

Yes, I can imagine an Indian mortal in contemporary times experiencing the same problem. Because I live in the real world.

God knows how you compared this to soaps. I give up.

  • @rheaisgreat 1. It is not personal and that is all i am saying... It took the King 2.5 hours to make it personal. Moral : Being an Indian King is not the best job especially when you have a Gal like this next to you and IT TAKES YOU 2.5 HOURS TO GET SOMETHING THAT LOOKS LIKE A KISS!

    2. Go to 1 & Thanks for the final line in 2.

  • @jbingfaII Fine. I inflate your ego hence. Have fun.

  • @rheaisgreat Fine. You know i have Fun and you are providing a way for more fun... Better than the soap series we were talking the other day...

  • of course they would wear some make-up. the strong lights will make you look so pale otherwise!

  • IF they apply makeup on you..you could like her too!

    LOL :)

  • I wish they could do that!

  • i loved this movie

  • thanks for the great clip!

  • Theres no doubt that Aishwarya is beautiful & acts quiet well , but i just wanna says that she & Hrithik (along with the rest of the cast) r wearing a lot of make-up . U can look at her eyes (mascara , eyeliner, eyeshadow etc) ,look at her blushed cheeks ! look at her glossy lips...................I have knowledge about these facts ,so wanted to clarify others doubts (rather assumptions)about Aishwarya being screened bare (without mmake-up)in this movie.

    THATS IT ! :)

  • yes your totally right.

  • she has on light make-up. But I still agree that aish is the most beautiful

  • What a powerful stroy full of hope and passion, inspiring to say the least and it gives me validation of my very ancient spiritual beliefs while striving to obtain political leadership of my native home of the Virgin Islands. Validation that while many believe diverse concepts, love may exist and thrive. Not to mention the political complications that seem to prevent many of us from love, who wish to serve the people in aiding them against problems that arise while culture expands. I'm grateful!

  • Aishwarya Rai = PERFECTION

she looks just as good without make up. She had no make-up on in this movie.

  • She is in extra makeup!

    Cant u see??????????

  • she wore no make-up because the role and time period required no make-up. The directer of Jodha Akbar is a perfectionist, he knows better.

  • She has on makeup but it is made to look natural. Even Hrithik has on makeup.

  • Anyone on stage or film wears makeup, even if it's "natural-looking" makeup. That's just the normal protocol. It's done everywhere in the world.

  • she is absolutely beautiful

  • From the start that he sees Ash I mean Jodha he was in complete extacy, hmmm very intoxicating their simple chemistry, they dont even try hard to act attracted to each other.

  • Hi Everyone,

I just found out from my sister this morning that Jodhaa Akbar is out on a special 3-disc DVD set! In New York, USA. If you live there as well - get the DVD. I'm going to look for it in a few days.

OMG! THE WAIT IS OVER! HOORAY!

  • I saw this movie. I liked so much. Hrithik is wonderfull in these role. In realitty he is marryed with a muslimah, he can understand good Jodha situation. Aish also is perfect in her role. Really Jodha Akbar is a great movie. So, so beautiful song Man Mohana

  • this particular scene is giving the poetic sense of the pictuarisation. eventhough it is a film, not real thing but it gives the feeling of watching the truelove&affection of the king &the princess. simply superb.

  • hitrik is always the best

  • Maan Mohana - while it directly refrences Shri Krishna Bahgvan, literally translates to "he who controls/guides/rules/directs my heart" stemming from the coupling of the words "Maan" which means heart and "Mohana" which references a ruler, controller, guide or king.

  • Um, whats the name of this movie?

  • that is 'Jodhaa Akbar'

  • Hrithik is truly like the 8th wonder of the world. He is so perfect that it is as though a Greek God is on earth. Being so physically perfect and yet surpassing such talent and such a gift, he is beyond description. And Aishwarya is simply a Goddess, a true beauty who seems to stand the test of time and such a brilliant and superb actress. One of exceptional and extraordinary calibre.

  • i'm sorry people, but nobody can beat prithviraj kapoor as akbar. there's just no coming close (sorry hrithik)...

  • very well said my friend

  • Actually Hrithik did a far better job I thought. I'm sorry but everyone was able to acknowledge how truly OUTSTANDING he is. This is what being a TRUE actor is all about. Just because someone portrayed the character of Akbar before, it doesn't necessarily mean that one day another brilliant actor cannot surpass him. Yes Prithviraj was a superb Akbar but Hrithik is simply mindblowing and I cannot imagine anyone else at all doing justice to this magnum opus film and role like he did.

  • Ash is still the best. She;s perfect for such roles. Imagine Kareena trying to do this. LOL!

  • Can you imagine if Ash and Hrithik had babie? How cute would they be...

  • she doesnt ..but this is a historic movie and back then they didnt have make-up =S

they couldnt just put make-up i like the way she looks its natural..=]

  • I thought she looked old in this movie.

  • huh?!

  • Who can tell me when JA will be relesed on DVD???Why is it taking so longggggggggggg! I cant wait to have the collectors item...

  • Aishwarya, why are you so damn gorgeous even without makeup? huh?

  • He's supposed to act like that...He plays an emporer for goodness sakes!

  • She is going to be 35 this november....So what? She is still beautiful as ever and has reached a lot. In fact, I dont think this is the end of her yet...

  • hrithik has done wonderful acting, just look at his eyes when aish says'main to hoon tan man hari'

  • ok what does that mean?

  • Jodhaa- her real name is Jodhabai is the Rajput princess and Akbar- aka Akbar the Great- is the Mughal Emperor

  • OK .jodha's full name is jodhabai.AND AKBAR-HIS FULL NAME IS JALALUDIN MOHAMMAD AKBAR.

  • i luv how aish ishaaras with her eyes to the thaali

  • ...bullshit..this is not a copy of hollywood film.. it's a pure Moghul story.. great film and great soundtrack... btw..unfortunately most of bollwood films/stories/scripts r copied from holywood.. no doubt about it... they produce about 1200 movies per year.. so they have to copy/immitate hollywood... once again this pure bollywood film and i love it... greatjob guys...

  • i'm obsessed, cannot rest until i've watched this with subs, somebody helppp me plzzzz

  • Man, Hrithik looks awesome with a moustache! Seriously, he's a cool looking guy. xD

  • I know! He looks yummie with a moustache..but is it real or fake?

  • real! ;) doesnt he looks sexy with it?

  • Hrithik REWINCARNATED as AKBAR

    Awsome...Fantastic. Braaavo.

  • luved the film!!! but it needed sum editing but still it was awsome

  • what ever slut called this a copy to hollywood films is mistaken!

  • which movie?

  • i love it here when he doesnt know what to do with those powders! its complicated for me too! i wish i could watch the movie with english sub.i have watched it 100 times in indian...he reminds me of kings of my country..persians..

  • persian culture was heavily influenced in the mughals,in the film he says a sentence in farsi also

  • thats correct Persians invaded India...

  • I love the background music that starts at 2:22...gosh, i think i fell in luv with hrithik after this movie...b4 i never thought he was hot but i duno, sumthin abt how he played Akbar...he won my heart too, not juz Jodha's! lol

  • Damn...about Hrithik, it's like ur using my words...i totally feel da same way!

  • Hrithik is HOT but i dont like him in these older style films...but he is still hot! ^_^

  • No . I love him only as Akbar after seeing this movie. All his other costumes pale out. He has acted so great in this movie which is not a surprise.

  • Yes, me too. Like him very much for the first time as Akbar.
