I met the Bothy Band and Kevin with one of the sweetest of men in the whole wide world, who could also work his '61 Strat ... Andy Hepworth. No matter how hard I try, I cannot seem to reconnect with this wonderful guy. He and I, Folkestone Cliffs, Bothy Band music, some acid, and the day and night came.
This is outstanding from a journeyman player's viewpoint. There are a number of informative bits to be gleaned about whistle and piping technique. It's fascinating as a piper to track the many moods of Paddy's chanter reed in the different live videos vs their several original recordings.
I'll repeat what I said under another video, I hope there's a video soon to appear of their a capella version of Fionnghuala.
wow.. this is nice... Heh, it's rare to see Molloy playing the whistle... naturally he's great with that too. Was donal playing the bodhran with his hand or is it just the way i happened to see it...?
Bothy Band fabulous as always . pity the guitar does not seem to be miked up properly. Many thanks to the user for making these lost treasures available

I believe that Donal is left handed, hense his right hand dampening the right side.

Yep thats a terrific clip - many thanks for posting it. I think Donal's using a beater there, though you can imagine him going Keith Moon on it.
