I sailed with my mum and sister on the Himalaya in 1972 from Sydney to Port Vila, Noumea, Suva, Lautoka. I was 12 years old. It was a very significant event in our family as it was where my widowed mother met her second husband. We have only a few photos, so these images bring back lots of very fond memories. Thank you.
We sailed around the South Pacific in 1972 when I was 7 on the Himalaya. I remember it fondly. We were in cabin C64 and our porter's name was Mr Mello.
My parents, sister and I returned from Australia on the Himalaya in 1966 when I was 8 years old. It is still a wonderful memory. Thanks for the photos.
In 1963 I was 7 years old and travelled to Singapore on the SS Himalaya where we lived very happily for 3 years before returning on the SS Oronsay in 1966.
@fantazooma as a child of 7 I travelled on ocean liners as from UK to Africa, firts in 1959 southhampton to cape town on the Stirling Castle then back in 1963 on the Southern Cross.. then finally 1965 on the Rhodesia Castle London to Monbasa via Suez... after that it was all jet planes and the old world slipped into memory... what a way to travel
