  • This is the 1st time I heard this song...Gave me goose bumps. Monday the Chilean Miners were rescued. Reading the comments I perceived this is a true story of heartache for several families and a community....all of us should reflect and say prayers for our family and those we love everyday.

  • It is a great song with a great meaning behind it, an I in no way want to belittle that.

Does anyone thing this sounds similar to What if God Was One of Us?

  • I love this song. I was there when they pulled them out. West Virginia lives on with the miners love and passion.

  • RIP to all of the miners in the Sago Mine accident. My family knew almost every one of them. I'll never forget the devistation in Buckhannon when this happened. Again, RIP & God bless your families.

It shows your husband is a very tough and hard working man. You should be very fortunate for having him and your kids.

FOREVER IN MY HEART MARTY BENNETT

  • I'm curious... I don't see how this is "White trash" for one, nor do I see how you could say such a thing about a good song. Do you even realize what it is about? Also, I would like to question your judgment on looks. So what if they're fat or skinny? They get the message across and that's all that should matter. And What makes them "stupid"? I would love to find out your thoughts on how things are as you say. That's all I wish to say. Good day.

  • i agree with you its not about looks or nothin if it means sumthen then you shouldnt knock it.......

  • @KedaKimoru <3

  • What comes around, goes around. Remember that. Oh, and congratulations on being judgmental and saying they're "White trash and fat". Just remember, when something 10x worse happens to you like your parents or someone you care about die or better yet; you die...remember that you treat people like shit.

  • its not a white trash song, n maybe if u lost some one that day, like i did u wouldn't write something so ignorant

  • this song really hits your heart and makes you think

  • WOW. The first time I heard this song it was on the radio, and I didnt catch it all. But as soon as I got home, I found it on the computer and listened to it all day, noon stop. Ive got it memorized now, and its one of the best songs Ive ever heard. It makes you think, thats what I like about it.

  • This is the saddest song for me. I was crying so hard because my dad was one of the 13 people in that cave and he didnt make it out alive.

  • steffanc88 - there is a chance that blazebaseball10 lied, but on the offchance that this person didn't lie, you shouldn't say things so blunt like "no he wasn't"

blazebaseball10 - i hope you aren't lying because that was a tough time for a lot of people and many people still mourn their deaths. a lot of children lost parents for real in that. please don't lie about that. but if it is true, i'm sorry for your loss.

  • my dad is a coal miner. the elevator was down one day because the electricity was cut out by a pretty bad storm. it was going on 4 hours after he should've been home and we were all thinking the worst. this is a great way to honor those brave miners, they are the silent heros of this country. i thank god every day for keeping my dad safe. he just started this past week at a mine in WV. my prayers go out to the families.

It scares me every day my son-in-law goes underground, because I know he is not ready to go or say, "I will meet you on the other side" I hope those of you out there will pray for Shane

  • this song is freaking amazing.

  • All 13 men are heros. I consider all of our brave miners heros for all they give us. I come from a long line of WV coal miners and my husband is a miner. I'm very proud of them. God bless our miner!

  • i live in WV and i remember this all. It was horrible. Even though the guy that survived is a hero...so are the other 12 that died. They all gave their oxygen tansk they had left to that guy so he could live. he was the youngest or something. That is really brave and heroic to know you are going to die and if you had a chance..you gave it to someone who you thought reallly deserved to be with their family

  • im a military wife and my husband has been to iraq fighting for our freedom. he puts his life in the line of fire and he believes that the miner who lived is the hero. because he was the messenger, just like our soldiers are. and because of that all the miners will be remembered as heroes. i live in wv and my husband has been looking for this cd in every store we go to. our hearts will always be to the families of these HEROES!

  • I live in WV and I remember watching every piece of news until they said who came out alive. I worked at the hospital that the one survivor was transported to and news teams were everywhere and we were instructed not to say anything.

  • i love this song, so much.

every time i hear it, i cry.

  • this song gives me such skills

its so sad but such an amazing song

i never heard of the sotry though adn iw as wondering why this just came on the raido one day ....anyone wanna reply to this and tell me what happend and when? all i know is that theer was 13 men traped in a mine in WV and only one survived is that basicly the story?

  • It was the Sago mine collapse in West Virginia January 2, 2006. The only survivor was Randle McCloy. They were trapped after an explosion and he was rescued after 2 days. I agree this song is very moving and makes me cry to think of those miners and anyone else who might be in this moment of their life....

  • I live about 15 miles from the Sago Mines. It was a horrible New Years Day when this disaster happened. A lot of good people died and families torn apart. It does make you think about your reaction if you were in the same situation. I know coal mining is a much needed industry but it is an extremely dangerous industry. My grandfather had his back broke 3 times working in the mines and died of black lung.

  • it is a sad/cool song

  • Great job Vinny!! JimmyZ

  • This is a amazing song. To me its a verry moving song..i heard it once before its releace date and havent been able to stop listning to it sence...it says so much..and makes you think about so much and you dont even realize it. Verry few songs move me like this one...one of the best songs that i have heard in a long ass time...wonderfull job...i love this song.

  • thats a sad story and what makes it worse is its true my dad had a serious back accident in the mines
