And arrian, stop using the arguement that because we aren't as sucessful as 5FDP in selling music we can't criticize them. If that was the case why critique music at all, because by that logic unless we have a recording contract from a major label we can't judge bands. My only issue with this is not that bands like this exist, but that they claim to represent what metal truly is. If the lineup was 50% metalcore 50% other forms of metal i would be happy to go. But its ultimately about the money.

Really, you can't tout yourself as metal festival when pretty much your entire lineup is commerical metalcore and a few hard rock bands like Korn and Rob Zombie lying around. I'm not expecting an entire lineup of underground black metal bands releasing demo tapes to pop up out of somewhere, but there should be some bands that don't fit the mold of the mainstream's flavor of the month for 'heavy' music in congruence with the hot topic crowd.

I love five finger death punch but I'm seeing them next weekend and I just saw Hatebreed at the end of December. So this lineup isn't worth it to me.. Rob Zombie and Korn are kinda shitty and I don't really know the other bands well enough that I would want to see them in concert. IMO last year's Mayhem was waaaayyyy better (in fact I'm wearing the shirt from it right now haha)
