great video and explanation again. one of my old teachers had that as his favourite technique against me..I hated it...lol..but he did it with uchimata. tsuikomi done beautifully.
this guys technique is very impractical as the uki isnt always guna "pop" up with tori. mostly in this situation alot of people are in jigotai.
this is very good for the novice judoka, but you advanced guys stay away very dubious skill, you will be better off taking grip straight away the throwing opponent backwards or using maki komi techniques
@nitcan That and people spastically trying to power out of half-guard in newaza is why I wear a cup always! It's funny how everyone in BJJ wears a cup and often mouthpiece + headgear, but in Judo people don't use anything!
your amazing. its all good knowing this stuff but much harder to do in competition, as i found out when i tried to do a harai maki komi in competition which i practise for ages in lessons so i have to resort to the simple Hiza-Garuma, which now is my favourite competition technique because it gets them on their back for ippon realli easily and if the ippon isnt there then you can quickly follow up into ground work for an armlock or strangle. I ALSO WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO DEFEND TOMO-NAGE. TA.
excellent, great use of your body to control opponents movement. I can not tell beginners how important that is. foremost just practicing breaking fall. I look forward to more.
excellent demonstration of set up for harai goshi. great explanation of the importance of the atemi (the execution of the attack with kake). So rare to see American Judoka actually explaining terms and demonstrating them. I look forward for more and explanation of the importance of knowing how to fall before throwing.
I eat alot of uchi mata that hurts like hell if the opponent is agile

Why is he beating up that poor old guy? Give him a break!

When you drop uke you should not release grip on his sleeve. You need to stay in control.

Im not 100% certian; i think you have 5 secs before you get penalized. for demonstration purposes, he might've held on a bit longer...

Did you used to compete at 118 back in the early 90's? I think we fought each other at a ladder tournament back then.
