my great great great grandfather was john c breckinridge major general of the confederate army, my great great great grandfather albert scott was part of the 1st infantry north carolina and then switched to an ohio union infantry, and i have another relative who fought for the confederacy but i forgot who that was.

actually that happend alot because that was all they would have not every man was issued a confederate gray uniform like everyone thinks. The reasons for the federal uniform on the Confederate soldier could be either A. He was in the Federal Army before the war

B. He took it off of a dead union soldier C. He received it when the confederates raided the union arssenals

Why are officers giving orders to platoons and squads in a skirmish line? Either file-partners fire with each other or independent fire. Why is the artillery in front of the fence? How are they to withdrawal if charged? How does a skirmish line behind a fence account for support of an artillery battery? Has anyone ever bothered to read "Gilhams Manual For Volunteers and Militia"? In my humble opinion, this video is far from authentic. And the "Gods and Generals" theme music blows.
