the point i was trying to make was that people concentrate on this as such a big issue, when i think less than 1% of americans are underweight, but over 60% are overweight. this trying to be skinny thing dosent seem 2 affect too many girls.

many people are naturally thin and are quite healthy but the vast majority of these models are starving themselves to fit in. They portray negative images which impacts on teenagers and vulnerable women who feel that they do not fit the status quo. I have nothing against these models but i hope that in the future they will have a challenge from models who will be more like real women and thereby promote positive self esteem
