hey guys i have a quick question, on some other ro2 videos i see that the gun is much closer and larger, but on some its further away which i prefer, is there an option to make it look like this in the game?

6:15 - 7:15 demonstrates just how effective a sniper can be mentally, imagine being in that position, the first time i watched this i even felt the emotions, this is why i want this game so bad!! :D

I've read that there are a lot of changes compared to the original, which make this game more arcadish and less "hardcore". Is this true?

Tank turret controlled with the mouse and can be turned only if you're looking through the scope, killcam,hip firee with no recoil, team names shown on top of character, English speaking soldiers, etc.

I still didn't play this game so I can't judge yet, but I hope they didn't changed a lot just to make it more appealing to the more casual gamers (doubt this).

@MSMSValve The recoil in the first wasn't exactly realistic in the first place. I think the recoil in RO2 is MUCH better. (And not just because there's less of it.)

@MadCowpat Thanks for the info. I think I'll give it a try and by it on Steam, although I may let the mod community "play" with it a bit before I buy it. The first RO was amazing, especially the tank maps.

I think the map looks empty, little to no props. It's just buildings and mostly empty ground and a few cars here and there. So map design is mweh. Gameplay looks fun though.

@ArmAMajor Not all the maps are like this and this particular one is suppose to be like that. It's aiming to be realistic so they're not going to put props everywhere like it's Halo or COD. This is the realism of war. There are some great maps in the first game which was only a mod, so I can only imagine how awesome they'll be in this game.

@ArmAMajor The Battle of Stalingrad, read about it. There were many run down buildings that had battles between them, not all of them had cover. How is that not realistic in some way?

This map is meant to be like this, focus is on range and cover.

The other map is apartments (aka. danzig) which is the opposite, all close quarters, I hate it.
