You know, I can sort of relate this song to the Half-life series. Like the timeframe that this song would take place is in between Half-life Souce and Half-life 2 when the Combine are taking over the world and the people are becoming slaves to the Combine.
I do miss the original version you had up here, with all the clips and the original girl screaming "The devil is upon us" and such. Did it get pulled for copyright reasons? I keep wanting to refer it to people to get an idea of what Unhallowed actually is about but then remember I just have to try and describe it...verbally...somehow -_-
@Musemistress We took the clips out because they were from movies that came out of major studios within the last ten years, and we didn't want to chance getting sued. But I too miss them, and had a lot of fun digging them up.
When I bought this song off Itunes, I just knew it was based off the tabletop rpg. And then I look on here and you give it direct credit, thats pretty badass, me and my friends love the setting of Unhallowed Metropolis. Keep up the good work Vernian Process
@jdnmassy Thanks alot! We always name drop New Dark Age productions whenever we play this live too. Funny story about all of this is that back when i was performing solo, I met one of the designers of UM at Convergence 13 in Seattle. I was so impressed with their game world, I got inspired to write this song. Three years later and it was finally finished ;) ~ Josh
I don't suppose anybody has read the book "Boneshaker"? Its great, and I consider this and a some of the other songs from this album to be the unofficial sound track ;)
@Cookiecan113 Unhallowed Metropolis works well for Boneshaker, because I believe the Author is friends, or associates with the team behind the UM RPG.
I and the crew of the proud Helcantha enjoy your music, continue to make the pleasing sounds. I shall be buying many albums for enjoyment, and use at camp when I set my heading to invade the RenFest this year.
You guys rock, love Into the Depths the most, kind of wish it was longer though. Anyway loving the music. I'm going to try and get the album when i have the money.
@CaptainKrackers Wondering that as well, looks like a giant flying speaker? I don't think it's the machine "Behold the Machine" talks about, it doesn't seem very deadly unless the propellers fail.
@CaptainKrackers My friend insists it's a giant kite. I think Myke Amend (the artist) is the only one who knows for sure. The machine in BtM, refers to the Federal Reserve Bank of the U.S.
@zakkthewyld The reason those clips were removed was so that we don't get our asses sued by whatever studio released Quills (where those quotes came from).

@cookiekiller6 To me, it doesn't look like it's flying but it's a giant mechanical worm rooted into the earth beyond the horizen.

Awesome as always. But I miss the "to hell with the world, the devil has unleashed himself upon us", bit. It gave the song so much atmosphere.
